J5 Camera - Samsung Galaxy J5 Questions & Answers

I flashed a grace ux camera on top of the stock camera and I'm getting fcs.
Can someone provide an apk or a flashable zip for me.
I'll really appreciate it. I don't want to flash stock rom all over again just because of the camera.

Just remind me in PM tomorrow, i will make a flashable for you
And by the way the only Grace UX apps that work on our stock rom are:
myfiles
contacts (dialer)
messages
Internet
Gallery
Video
Clock
Calculator
Calendar

There you go
Mount system in twrp first before flashing
After flashing clean cache and dalvik

report back if it works, it should

[Q] New to android, can someone answer my questions on flashing roms?

I'm going to try to flash CM 11 and have already rooted and set up a TWRP 2.6.3.2 recovery. I have seen that you need the new TWRP update to flash CM11 so I have a few questions:
How do I update to 2.6.3.3 easily?
How can I backup all my apps, contacts, data, etc. so that I don't lose everything after I flash?
Is there anything I should know or do before flashing?
Also, how often do you guys flash new roms, or do you usually just stick with one for a while?
Thanks in advance

Hey you can flash Roms with 2.6.3.2 but I'll post a link for you in a Lil for 2.6.3.3...this one is a zip so just flash and wipe cache and davlik afterward.
Make sure you make a backup by going into recovery and clicking on backup and swipe to start. You should always have a BACKUP before you start flashing. If you flash a ROM make sure you wipe SYSTEM, DATA,CACHE, and DAVLIK under advanced in wipe.... Before you flash a ROM and then wipe cache and davlik again afterward.....hope this helps

Here is a link for 2.6.3.3 twrp its flashable so go to recovery and flash the wipe cache and davlik afterward the boot up.....also your contacts and such won't be deleted if its on your internal storage ( make sure you don't wipe this)
Install myphoneexplorer client in phone and in your pc and sync your contacts to it and copy all important stuff to ur pc through it you can use WiFi to connect phone to app in pc if you both are on same network so it gives u flexibility, then install flashify from market and then go to teamw.in/projects and look for twrp and download the one that is for your phone and save it to your phone in sdcard then run flashing and select thy zip u downloaded and flash it and make sure u do cache and dalvik cache wipe after install and then u r done.
Sent from my LG-D800 using xda app-developers app
In settings there should be a section for google to run a back up that syncs your apps and/or contacts.
I flash Roms a lot. Damn near daily, you really should give each ROM youre trying a few days to "settle in" especially the new 4.4 Roms.

Thanks for all the info, it helped a lot and now I finally have a rom working.

C6903_Customized IT_1276-0557_14.5.A.0.242_R2D_Lollipop Flashable Zip

Flashable zip with SuperSU 2.46 and Lockeddualrecovery 2.8.12 included.
This has to be flashed in recovery.
Made with PRFCreator v0.8 and I included: Kernel, FOTAKernel, Modem, LTALabel and Sign Zip.
It works very well with my Z1 Customized IT C6903.
Good flashing :fingers-crossed:
Flashable zip
P.S. Forgot to mention it in the title but the rom is obviously pre-rooted
Full wipe and flash?
I always suggest to do a full wipe......anyway you can flash without full wipe but I experience a better overall performance and a better battery life after a full wipe (first time I didn't do a full wipe, I installed over kitkat because I didn't want to reinstall all the app from beginning -I hate titanium backup-)
On second flash I did full wipe.......now it's much better

Hello.
I have a Xperia Z1 with KK.4.4.4. rooted with newroot, CWM recovery v.6.0.4.7.e loched Bootloader.
Can you please explain to me step by step what I need to do to install Lollipop in the version that you propose (with SuperUser and Revocery)?
It is a Stock Rom?
Can I install it with Bootloader blocked?
Further question.
I currently have many applications on microSD thank Link2SD and its partition created on microSD.
Since lollipop allows you to install applications on microSD, I have to uninstall applications and delete the partition on microsd?
Thanks from Trento (Italy)

Reboot in CWM and make a backup of your current whole ROM.......than I suggest you to wipe everything(data, cache, dalvik, art.......ATTENTION that wiping data you will lose all your app, sms mms ecc ecc but it's better to install lollipop on a clean phone)
than install the zip and reboot(the very first reboot take a long time to settle down, so be patient it take some minutes, wait without press power or other buttons until it finish to settle down!!!!.......that's it. You can jump the wiping of data but I experience a overall worst performance coming from kk to LL without wipeing data.
Yes it's a STOCK ROM!!! I only add superUser and dualrecovery for preroot.
as regard the microsd with Link2SD and partition I really can't help you because I never did this, but I think that it's better if you delete that partition because, as you said, with LL you can move app to sd natively.......
you are welcome from Florence :highfive:
Can I install this ROm with Bootloader blocked?
Xposed framework works with Lollipop?
Thanks.

my bootloader is locked so yes, you can......as for xposed it's a problem of compatibility between lollipop and the xposed installer itself.........you may have to read this and this
but I suggest you to wait for a more stable release of the xposed installer for LL
anyway I don't have xposed installed so it's your risk

Opening the Zip file, I noticed a file system.ext4.
Does it mean that I have to make a partition Ext4 on microSD?
Thank you.

SuperSU 2:46, Lockeddualrecovery 2.8.12, kernel, FOTAKernel, Modem, and Sign LTALabel Zip .: all in one zip file?
You simply flash the single Zip file in a single procedure?
It is not necessary to use Flashtool?
After then I have on my smartphone Lollipop, SuperSU and Lockeddualrecovery?
Thank you.

I cant seem to find my way to FULLY wipe when I want to flash or try a new ROM. I just installed an RRO that resulted in SystemUI crash, I then went to reflash the ROM, same results. Decided to WIPE in TWRP and reflash the rom, the SystemUI FC is still there ! Wipe, Flash ROM, then Wipe, same result...Any help ? What's wrong with my TWRP ? Im on the latest.
I just restored an old backup, and I have the same FC of system UI !

TWRP doesn't wipe the vendor partition where the layer is kept. You have to manually mount the vendor partition in TWRP then use TWRPs inbuilt file browser to go into the overlay folder and delete the layer files, this will stop the System UI FCs
There are also flashable stock vendor partition files available in some of the threads in the Android development section (can't remember where exactly) flashing them will restore it to stock.
Finally, you can fastboot flash the whole stock ROM from a pc and this will also remove them.
Deleting them using TWRP is probably the easiest.

it is not reccomended to do this (its called a dirty flash) you can choose to do this anyway when installing a custom ROM most of them come with an option in the AROMA installer letting you do a fresh wipe or "dirty flash" it will just install the ROM over your current leaving your settings/apps there. Or if there is no AROMA installer with the rom just dont do a wipe before you install. no need to restore using a backup
dirty flash should be fine if you are upgrading ROMS to a later version but you should always check the thread if that is okay. you may run into problems if its a huge update.

heres some info on EFS > http://www.naldotech.com/galaxy-s7-s7-edge-backup-restore-efs-imei-partition/
recovery is TWRP itself
system is the ROM
Data is your apps etc..
a standard backup is already seleted in TWRP which is
Boot / System / Data
you may as well backup EFS as well its only a few Kb

Stuck on logo screen when installing any Lineage based rom

So yesterday I'm trying to flash Pixel Experience custom rom on my Galaxy S7 Edge Exynos and I'm using floyd rom v4, so i flashed it and it's successful but i can't get passed google logo screen and it stuck for way too long. Then i tried to flash lineage os 17.1 and this time it got to Lineage logo but then it boot back to recovery. I tried adb sideload to install it that also didn't work, in the end i tried flashing floyd rom v5 and that worked beautifully. Can anyone help me as i really want to experience the Pixel experience. Oh and I'm using TWRP 3.4.0.

Yep, you format both, especially going from one ROM to another.
Data is your personal settings, app stuff etc,
System is the operating system (To put it simply).
If you have old ROM files leftover in the system folder, when you flash a new one they will conflict with each other.
It needs to be a clean install

folders to format when swapping from one rom to another (oneui samsung rom to aosp, or different aosp to aosp):
dalvik
cache
data
system
when you are on an aosp rom, and are updating the same rom to a newer version, you can normally get away without wiping data
