This phone is draining my time and killing my soul. Selling it before my wife chooses to sell me. There are more important things to focus on in my life. Already changed back to my faithful Env3. and busted out my 7MP point-and-shoot camera. Ah, the good 'ol days
PM me if you want to make an offer. Close to mint condition. A few minor scratches on the screen that happened before I applied the screen protector. Can't really even see them. Stock battery. Everything works great. Currently running MIUI, but of course you can flash what you like. I can throw in an 8GB card. Offers via PM only, please. I live near Houston, TX if that means anything to you.
I'll post to Ebay and transact it that way if it makes you feel better, but I'll have to take a slightly higher offer to cover their gouging commissions. As of now, it's not on Ebay.
You can see from my post count that I'm not new to XDA. This is legit.
Moderators, let me know if there's a more appropriate place to put this. I figured it was pretty 'general'.
dude thats bad you can't control yourself with that phone?lol instead of getting rid of it you should prob seek help.

LOL! Yea right.
Look...I am tempted nearly every minute of every day to check this website and get the latest thing. The surest way to get rid of the temptation is to get rid of the phone. I've already reclaimed a few hours of my life just in the past couple of days.
No takers yet. I guess I'll post to E-bay
I have a friend who might be interested. I'll check with him. What would be a general idea of what your looking out of it? (PM me if you don't want to post here please)

who actually uses ffc daily?

So to anyone who modded their vibrants to have ffc, do you use it daily or just use it for show and tell everyone you have a ffc and they don't? Lol I just wanna know cause even in public I don't ever see anyone, not even facetime for iPhone, uses it. Not at home or anywhere else.
Honestly in the 5 months I've had it I have never used it. No one wants to video chat and no one has a FFC I guess I just have it because I can you know what I mean. I like to mod as much as I can
I use mine to check to see if I have boogers mainly. I used the ffc the first night I installed it with a video call on oovoo just to test it. Other than that, it's mainly a mirror for me for the boogie check. Hard finding friends with a ffc to use it with while I'm out. And when I get home, I just use my laptop.
Iphone users can't unless connected to wifi. And if you did see them use it, it would just be another congratulatory circle jerk.
As for me, I use it often. Nothing like flashing my junk on screen in the middle of a call.

Now this is funny
I don't know about daily, but I will say I use mine weekly. Tango ftw
Beware of angry gingerbread
I do alot, talk to my wife quite a bit on it
I am also in the camp of "I mod because I can." My wife also has the latest iPod, so I call her on it every once in a while for kicks.
Weekly opposed to daily, I suppose. I'm making it more of a habit to video chat friends and family I haven't seen in some time. It's always fun to show off to friends who even have the Vibrant, but of course not the FFC.
Haha, sadly I have done the same. :-[

Honestly mine broke from using it so much.
I like to do random video chats and just play with my junk on it... i was finding myself touching myself too many times a day so i had to remove the camera.

I'm expecting to get my FFC mod in the next few days. Don't know if I'm going to use it or not, but just want to have it.
In the month I have had mine I have used it twice. I like to mode too and i think that is the main reason I did it, and to shut my friends up that have EVO's...lol
I don't even use my rfc daily
I think its more along the lines of "something thats nice to have and may use once in a while." I mean, its not like its a hefty investment and you're allowing your Vibrant to do something its capable of.
I’m wondering the same thing. I’m considering adding an FFC and would like some input from the community. For those with an FFC, is it worth the time, money and effort? Is it simply a “nice to have” or do you find it practical being used regularly?
I thank you in advance for your comments.

Is anyone else picky about letting anyone else hold your phone!?

So....who else here doesn't feel comfortable with anyone else holding their device?
Like when someone asks to use your phone, or when a friend sees you playing a cool game and he says, oh can i see? And when you say no, you get that "why don't you trust me look?"
I go to a friends house, and they have a son who always was able to use his dads evo to play games, so when I go over to his house, he wants to touch and play with my phone, but I don't let him lol. But his mom was like, oh he won't drop it! and seemed to get a little offended by this.
It's not that I don't trust anyone with my phone, it's just that I don't trust anyone with my phone.
So, that about sums it up. This phone is my baby, and I just don't trust anyone else to hold it!
The end.
Thanks for reading
OMG, that is so me!
When I show someone a pic of my kids or something, and they reach for the phone, I instinctively pull it away. No one touches my Evo! no one! lol
I do this to plus in my hood u don't let anyone touch your stuff.

I'm always afraid that they will drop it or something, then just say something like, oh im sorry, you have insurance right?..I mean I don't even feel comfortable with them touching it! It's my baby and no one touches my baby
Lego my evo, lol nice.
If you think about it, touch screen phones are great germ carriers. The last thing I want is someone using my phone after they just came out of the bathroom, neglecting to wash their hands.

i love showing off my rooted evo to other evo owners who dont kno how to root lol, but once they see how awesome it is, they wanna get their hands on it, and its a no no for me, i don't like them playing around with it haha
I agree with all the above reasons and will add another, every time i let another Evo owner hold mine it always ends up in "aw man that's awesome......can you do mine like that"! HAHA
i dont have a problem with friends holding my phone because i dont have friends that lack basic motor skills such as holding a small inanimate object.
seriously? get a life... if you're that worried about your phone then get insurance or wrap it in bubble wrap.
I guess it depends on the person if they only have experience in a feature phone I will dial the number and hand it to them if they're into rooting and hacking and etc I give them a little freedom because the first thing I do when handed a phone is start looking at what they are running and what kind if set up they have goin on and for those who like to look at your photos and texts don't let them in your bathroom cause you know they are looking in your medicine cabnet

I let someone hold my evo once. A five year old girl my sister babysits was over and she wanted to take a picture of a butterfly outside. feeling like a nice guy i let her. she threw it back to me while my back was turned and it shattered the screen. NEVER AGAIN!!
Omg, i am so like this too. I will reluctantly let some people have it, but i do my best not to. and when i do let people have it, i am so nervous while they have it. It might be partly withdrawal symptoms as well LOL.
Doesn't help that most my friends are completely ignorant of tech, and some have ability to break anything the touch. so i am even more D: when they want to see it for something x-x;;;
As someone else said, and the inevitable OMGs CAN YOU DO THAT TO MINE???? x-x

SGS3 Broken Device's thread

Saw a few threads about broken devices so I figured I'd try to get everyone to post in one thread to help me decide if this phone can survive me lol. This is for keeping track of what seems to break the most. Please try to keep questions out and use the format below.
Samsung Galaxy S III
Version: (USA or international)
Color:
Case: ( type of case, or " no case")
Cause of damage: (drop from x height etc)
Damage location: (frnt/bck/side/screen)
Picture of damage:
Or people could take better care of their phones rather than deliberately putting them to the test to see if Gorilla Glass is all that good or dropping them from a height!, its a phone not a bullet-proof vest! Pointless thread! All these people seem to be having problems with their phones but mine has been absolutely tip top! I cannot fault it! But people nit pick about the stupid things!

I know how to take care of a phone, so do most. Accidents happen. I, as well as many others I'm sure, have placed a phone in what we thought was a safe spot, and still had it fall, or someone else accidentally knocks it down. I have a 3 year old. I'd love to see you hand a phone to a small child and have them not drop it. Or have it slide out of a pocket. Thanks for playing.

People aren't nit picking, some people have legitimate claims. It's a phone and believe it or not, accidents do happen.
This is where we've reached, fan boys actually blaming the consumer now for accidentally dropping their phone's, instead of blaming the real culprit.

Who's the genius that would hand a 700$ phone to a 3 year old in the first place?
That would be no accident, it would mean the parent is missing more than a couple of braincells.

our little girl plays learning games on both mine and the lady's phone, along with grandma's tablet. All three of the devices have more than stood up to the task. She's only dropped the tablet once, neither phone yet. Also, not everything is out of reach to the little one. Sometimes I'll set it on the wide arm of the couch to charge while I sit there. If I get up, I'm not going to Unplug it just to get a drink in the next room. At $300+ and listed as a " solid, sturdy, durable etc" product, you expect it to withstand a drop or two. My Droid X has been knocked off counters and such by friends( where it SHOULD be safe), dropped by myself, I've gotten hung up in the charger cord once despite my best effort to keep it out of the way, pulling my phone with it. Hit bumps in a vehicle dumping it from the car holder, as it clicked into place, but didn't actually secure. I've had coolant and other automotive fluids spilled on me, or splash onto my phone etc. I was using the LED light to find small puddles in the basement once, dropped it into the water after tripping over something I didn't see, its worked its way out of my deep side pocket while I ran once, fell onto my foot and got kicked across the ground. I don't keep it there anymore but the pocket was 3" deeper than the phone, should have been secure. Point is, you can't predict everything around you, or control it. Accidents happen regardless unless you move like a turtle, even then it may still happen. So can we lose the stupid and stay on topic please?

Still, it is a 3 year old. Why don't you just get her a cheap tablet of her own to remove your expensive phones out of the equation?
Also, even though the rest was painfully hard to read, (wall of text) I still did and I agree that devices should be build more sturdily when they cost 300+$.
Accidents happen in life, but we can do things to avoid them and minimize the damage.

Bent Note 4

Hey guys so apparently i own an iPhone 6 Plus. I had my note 4 in my back pocket for maybe an hour or so and when i was looking at it the next day, i noticed it had a slight bend in it starting at the volume rocker. Along with the phone bending, it also sent a hairline crack through the display which is really small but its still there. I tried to get a picture of it but its so fine it was rather hard. My question is do you think the samsung warranty will RMA it and also folks, keep those notes out of your back pocket.
Like i said the pictures dont really show the damage well but trust me it is there.
It was a dumb decision to put the device in your rear pocket. These phones are extremely rigid compared to an Iphone 6.
99% Samsung will laugh you off the phone.
1% They might "Hook you up"
Wow.. Seriously.. Lol. . Why would you have your phone in your back pocket to start with?

Maybe benjewman is actually a chick. That could explain it. I put (correction: used to put) my phones in my back pocket occasionally too. Can't really explain why.... just wanted to give a little support. Nobody likes getting kicked when their down.
@benjewman, do you have insurance on it?
no i am not a chick
no i do not really know why i put the phone in my back pocket, it is convenient with such a **** huge phone. yes i do have insurance but id rather not pay for my dumb mistakes.
i think the point your all missing is that the phone still bent when it isnt supposed to and smasung put out a video demonstarting that it shouldnt bend under butt pressure but it still did which is why i think they would take care of it.

I was actually going to post the same video. If they're going to advertise like that, they should stand behind their claims. I'm a guy and I put my phone in my back pocket. Why? Well, it would be awkward to walk with it in a front pocket, I don't always feel like carrying it around, and I don't want a belt holster. The only other option would be to carry a man-bag and I'd really rather not.
Edit: I should add that I always take it out of my pocket before sitting down. I just hold it or sit it close by if I'm sitting.

What i am the only loser that carries in the back pocket?
I manage an entire shop the reason I bought an note 4 so that I could have all my documentation with me and take quick notes where else would you put it? I'm only a hundred and sixty pound guy but I must have sat on it 200 times by now and never had a problem. If you say a clip on holster and give him grief then I just don't know what to tell all you geeks, old men and chair surfers. Holsters snag on everything flipping your phone out and when out of style with the Dukes of Hazard and there 4"folding knife. Your front pocket pinches something I would rather not have pinched unless its my wife andd your front shirt pocket looks worse than a pocket protector and also falls out.
Just use your insurance its not like it was a stupid mistake that's what you get it for.
So flame away lol.
But seriously just have it replaced

Well, it would be awkward to walk with it in a front pocket, I don't always feel like carrying it around, and I don't want a belt holster. The only other option would be to carry a man-bag and I'd really rather not.
Edit: I should add that I always take it out of my pocket before sitting down. I just hold it or sit it close by if I'm sitting.

finally some one that agrees with me and hasnt called me a fat chick. i see it is they say their product can live up to a specific type of abuse and i proved it cant so they should therefor be liable for it. at least a little bit
Why would you be surprised that the phone will bend if you sit on it? I mean... isn't it obvious?
Whole thread is nonsense. Your a bone head plain and simple. Would never carry a $600 device in my back pocket.
Look at this. ...... Galaxy Note 4 Bend Test: http://youtu.be/SDIu-GcX5aM
If I were you, I'd call and tell them it should not have bent from what is normal use. You didn't drop it, and you didn't put it through anything any one of us wouldn't also. They should (should being the important word; who knows what they'll do) fix it, free of charge.
Good luck.
Edit: Wait a minute. Were you walking around, or did you sit on it? Because if you sat on it, you kind of deserved it.

I don't want to go off topic but that mentality is partially, if not mostly in place because of the older generations bad parenting. Simple as that. Children, teenagers behaviors are a big reflection of the level of parenting they had. I do agree with you but the reason for that mentality had to be made clear.
As for the OP, I'm willing to say you got a "bad" device. Just as anything can go wrong with any piece of technology or car. This definitely isn't a known issue so definitely an odd occurrence. But as others had said, I would never put a phone in a back pocket. Not only can you risk breaking it, but it can also fall out.
Please don't sit on your phone and then act surprised when you damage/destroy it. It is an electronic device. I am looking around my house at all my electronics and I am having a hard time finding one that I would sit on (Laptop, Astro A40 Headset, Monitor, Scanner, Printer, TV, PS4, TiVo, NEST Thermostat, Blender, George Forman Grill). I mean really?
Solution for not wanting to put your phone in one of your front pants pockets: STOP WEARING SKINNY JEANS!
