Battery Suddenly Shutting Down Before 0% (Possible Solution) - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Battery Suddenly Shutting Down Before 0% (Possible Solution)
Ok so after a bit of playing around I have seamed to rid of the battery cut off at 15% - 20% and so on.
As I was doing the battery reclab I noticed when I drained the battery and the phone would turn off, then restart the phone it would boot alittle then shut off. Then I'd plug it in with phone Off and the display would show an instant charging percentage of around 5% -10% -15% . I noticed the battery was not discharged to 0%.
What I did was boot into recovery and keept the screen on for as long as it needed till the battery really died and the screen turned off. I was surprised how much battery was left. Depending on your battery. It took me around 30min to die.
After that I then plugged it in to do a full charge with phone off.
Let battery die again boot back to recovery and keep screen on Antill screen shutoff.
Do full charge again.
Antill you see your battery shut off at normal 0%.
I did this twice. You may need to do it more depending on your battery state.
Give it a go. Who knows it may work for you.
Good luck

I had luck doing something similar in TWRP.
My issue is my battery still only reports about 75% or the capacity that it should.
Waiting for my replacement from Google.
I need a good battery in my phone and 75% in a "like new" replacement is not going to cut it.

Simple Question

I'm Dealing with the T-mobile HD2 with stock ROM, and additional tweaks. Yesterday I forgot to charge my phone. I woke up with the battery at 40%. From 8-9 i charged it to about 60%. At 12pm the battery was at 40% after use. I held down the power button and selected turn off. At 4pm, the phone would boot up either for 1, 3, 8, or 25 seconds then shut down. I tried this about 15 times and yielded similar results. I figured the battery was dead so i plugged it in and what do you know. It turns on with the battery at 0%. Any suggestions or ideas as to why the battery would drop from 40% to 0% with the phone powered off?
that is strange, also i find it strange that in an hour the phone only went from 40 to 60 percent are you charging through your pc? If so try charging through the outlet.
maybe remove the battery sim and sd card then start up phone to see if it stays on with battery only. then try battery and sim, then everything hope it works

[Q] Stop charging at 90%

Hi all,
My Atrix won't charge more than 90%.
Do you have a solution ?
Thank you
goto the market and look for battery calibration, when it hits 90% or so or wont charge more, hit calibrate, then drain it to 0 and charge it back and see what happens, also whats the voltage levels at 90% ?
Thank you for your return,
The voltage is 4.036V at 90%.
I will try and let you know.
Same problem here. Also when charging, the indicator is not working.
follow this guide to fix all your battery issues

The battery thing is a pain in my A$$.. this is what I did to fix it:
1) drain phone 100%
2) charge to full while phone is off
3) while phone was still charging, I pulled the battery, waited for the screen to show a question mark, then I plugged the battery back in. Then it shows the battery as 5% or 10% (YMMV)
4) let it charge again for another 2 hours
5) before turning on; I went into recovery and deleted battery stats, then rebooted
6) phone should be at 100% or close to it, if not, then wait until its at 100%, then calibrate the battery using the app.
NOW ---- after doing all this, my phone seemed fine.. then.... the problem started happening where the phone wouldnt charge to 100, then it wouldnt charge to 95, then it wouldnt charge to 90, then it wouldnt charge to 85..
of course I started freaking out like WTF -- but.. this is what I did to fix it:
I tolerated it. I just kept using my phone, charging when I needed too, etc etc etc. I never let it die completely.. i just kept charging once the phone hit 10% or so (over night mostly, and sometime thruout the day).
Eventually the percentage started creeping back up... slowly.. I noticed after every overnight-recharge, the percentage would climb up by 1. So it would goto 85..86...87.. etc. etc. until it got to 95.
Then over the weekend while I was streaming a movie on a car ride home; the phone died because I ran out of battery, I took it home --- put it on the charger without turning it on... let it charge for an hour or so, when I turned it on the phone was at 80%.
I kept charging it -- and now.. after ALL OF THAT... my phone charges to 100% . EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Sorry for the long post -- but this is what I went through to fix my battery. a PAIN IN THE A$$ , but I think eventually your battery will learn to fix itself.
This is from all information I found in these forums, I can't take credit for any of this.

Crazy Battery Status

Hi, I'm having a weird problem. Last week I replaced my phone's battery. Everything was going fine till the first charge. The battery percentage isn't showing the right value.
After charging the device all night turned off. Battery shows only 79% of charge. If I let the phone charging turned on, it gets to 100%, but short after drops to 85% and then 79%.
First I thought it was a faulty battery. But I'm using it for a week now, and the device holds a day without a charge, I can even get 3 hours of sot.
I tried fully cicles of charge, to see if it's some kind of calibration, but nothing helps.
Any ideas?
Calibration apps or BBS?

Try battery calibration apps or use Better Battery Stats to find what's doing this!!

Is my battery b*ggered?

So for the past few weeks my battery has been draining faster than the speed of light. It will get to anywhere between 30 - 70% (usually about 56%) and it will just turn off. Like straight to dead, no powering down.
When I try to turn it on again I get a white screen with a picture of an empty battery.
If I plug it is, I get the charging screen showing a battery percentage the same as it was when it crashed.
I've done a factory reset, wiped the cache, tried it with no third-party apps, all sorts. But it's still the same. I'm having to charge it 4 or 5 times a day and it's only getting about 30 mins of usage before it dies.
It tends to happen the most with the camera or Snapchat but I don't think it's related to those as it will also do it in other apps and even the lockscreen.
Is it time to call it quits and send it to the phone shop in the sky?!
I had this weird problem with my battery too! MXPE on stock nougat , as soon as I charged my phone to 100% and plug out it used to drop below 80 in 2 minutes ! and then when the percentage hit ~20% It used to turn off showing that white screen you mentioned, however when I plugged the phone in it would start charging at ~15% ! so I tried recalibrating my battery and it is surprisingly effective !
here is the method:
1) drain your phone battery until it shuts down.
2)power it on again and you will see that white battery low picture. plug the charger for 3 or more seconds and out, it will boot up again but as soon as the Rom boots up the phone will die again . do it multiple times.
3)charge the phone while it is off until 100%. turn it on and drain the battery as fast as possible (max brightness, volume, streaming videos on cellular data and running benchmarks will do ) till the phone dies again.
4) repeat (2)
5) charge the phone up to 100% while it is off ! and there you go your battery is recalibrated and good to go!
Obviously, this will shorten the batteries lifespan but since I believe you have it for a long time It won't be an important matter!
Thank you. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and treat myself to the new OnePlus 5T when it goes on sale tomorrow but I will try your advice as this will be a good backup phone to keep for emergencies as it's not worth much to sell on or trade in.
Try removing the back with a heatgun and unplugg and plug de battery.
I'm having the exact same issue and tried the same solutions, no help. It's dying now after a couple minutes. I'm carrying around a battery pack.
Seems to me my troubles started after updating to Nougat. You?

Moto G4 battery dies extremely fast

Yesterday, my battery was running perfectly fine. Today, the battery goes for about 10 minutes on screen time. Getting it charged from 10% to 100% is very quick, maybe takes about 10 minutes. But going from 100%, it can discharge at about 5% per minute, regardless if im using it or not. When I was at 70%, i tried to restart my phone to see if it would fix it, but when It was going to turn back on, i was greeted with the low battery sign, signaling that the phone wasn't able to turn on. 70% = No Battery? Battery drains by 2% per minute when screen is off.
I'm running Lineage OS 14.1 official rom with magisk. Please help.
GSam Battery Monitor Says that 60% of battery is consumed by "Kernel (Android OS)"
Many times i have watched my battery go down multiple percent in a matter of a second its really scary

Your phone needs to re calibrate the battery. This is probably the bit I like the least about these phones. Near as I can tell the best method is to let it drain till dead - then plug in with your charger and leave for several hours. Power on while phone is still plugged in - let it continue charging another hour.
Use normally. You may need to repeat this a few times.

I've done that about 4 times. It didn't really make a difference... then I used a battery callibration app from the play store which didn't even require a full battery drain or charge and it worked very well... weird.
