Yes.. U can have a look at some comparisons between current camera and the raw camera app
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Unle...ence-between-lossless-raw-DNG-vs-JPEG_id61956
+ on the github there's notes for a "to-do" list of sorts. The list includes seeing if 4k video recording can be achieved. Same with 60fps video recording. Also a port for the n7 as it doesn't work on that yet, even with lollipop.
Very cool! Thank you!

Yes.. U can multiboot Android Lollipop and Try the app if you want [emoji4]
4k was not possible, but now it can record videos at max resolution of 3264x2448 at 30fps with manual focus and manual exposure.
4k is not possible because the sensor does 8mp max which is 3264 x 2448, whereas 4k is 3840 x 2160. So, we are short by 0.3mp. But still it's very good.
The app is regularly updated and everybody interested should have a look at
https://github.com/PkmX/lcamera
The apk can be downloaded from there.
And a detailed readme of what's on offer is also available.
Okay guys good news, camera got updated and now can shoot 4k

3264 x 2448 is not 4k, and im only seeing 24fps for some reason.

What is the best way to make bracketing. With Huawei camera there is no function for bracketing. With camera fv-5 app it's not working probably and it is even not possible to set the shutter speed. Any suggestions?
Not sure why you need bracketing if u can see the image before shooting.
Or you can shoot in raw and edit the pictures later.

The camera has hdr option, and with raw you can manipulate the image as you want.
Use the shadows and highlight in Photoshop.
I know, but it's no where near as good as taking, say, 7 images at -3eV through +3eV and combining them in an HDR program or app.

Yup. He'll need a tripod though...
Thanks for answering
I need it for photos spheres in HDR as I wrote in an other thread.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-plus/how-to/photo-sphere-focus-t3611563
I use tripod and nodal adapter and shoot single images and stitch it in ptgui.
I would love to do it all on Huawei p10 plus but somehow the results are blurry when I use streetview app camera.
https://goo.gl/photos/Xmdi4FpsTwi22wbt7
So bracketing is not possible on Huawei p10 plus. So I tried to stitch fotos in raw but they don't have exif data. Ptgui needs this information. Huawei makes it not easy to make photo-spheres.
Anyone who has a oneplus 5 what's the camera quality on snapchat. I know it's going to be way worse than camera app like any other android but is it decent? Because it has eis and not ois does that effect snapchat quality? Is it really shaky?
Video Quality is really bad on snapchat. A real disaster

Can you explain how its a disaster? Like blurry pics etc
I will try tomorrow
Well, the pictures are good quality...but dont try to make a video with a lot of background noise... Also the videoquality is really blurry
So is it always going to suck on Snapchat?
hello, i was just wondering if anyone can provide snapchat quality samples
Like its always going to take ages to focus etc. But when moving its there a lot of blur etc

Maybe take a couple videos and save them then upload them somewhere and send us a link.
I think snapchat just needs to fix their Android app. It's giving Android users a bad name man.

Your right. Snapchats app on android is horrible. The most powerful android phone runs Snapchat like an iPhone 5s.

Straight from snapchat
I really haven't had a lot of problems with snapchat. It's a pretty basic camera obviously. No crazy blurry pics but you do need to keep it pretty steady. Unless you came from a phone with OIS before, and I know some of you guys did, and for you guys, it might be a bit of an adjustment, but it seems fine to me. It's nowhere near a terrible experience.

Thanks. Looks normal I guess, which is good.
Also I'm guessing there's no eis right? Apparently with some phones and ois. Ois only works in the normal camera app and not Snapchat.

Thanks for uploading and the images look amazing but the video looks OK (bad) this could all be fixed through software update from Snapchat team for full support of the camera and not screen capture.
Depend of people standards I guess
but I don't find the video quality on snapchat that bad
If you want to take good videos buy a f**king GoPro or a camera

It's more for video stabilisation. As EIS in the camera works perfectly, what abt Snapchat?
What is better? the camera app from xiaomi or google? Has the camera app anything to do with video stabilization? If yes it will be better on Google Camera?
P.S: If someone can give me samples(images, videos) from both apps I will be happy

I posted here one simple example of the difference in night light: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74176704&postcount=34
In daylight Google camera is marginally better, and very consistent in good shots, the stock camera can sometimes loose focus.
I haven't yet had chance to compare videos, but I think the google camera will also give betters results, as the stock camera has issues in focusing in low light.

Search here in xda for google camera port, there are many many versions, so you must play with it. And root and enabling camera 2 api is a must for the apk to work.

Oh bummer... don't want to root Guess i'll leave it then...
tempted to root to install the GCam HDR+ but hesitant to do the tedious work in unlocking bootloader - fastboot - rooting
having the new phone for daily use is awesome, the only downside is the quality of low light pictures.. it's awful :fingers-crossed: my late mi4i takes low light with much better results..
oooh I guess that's why google pixle costs so much more
I recommend to root it. The picture quality is now stunning! Once unlocked and rooted, it is easy to relock and unroot since you know the steps
Anyone managed to fix the major lack of image stabilization on this camera?

Sorry, should have been clearer. I've found that blurriness in my photos is a real issue... I don't have root so Google camera is a no go, but seen a lot of people experimented with other cameras in this thread so wondered if any other software better than the stock Mi A1 camera software?

Hello Nitro, thanks for your example.
Did you use HDR Mode on Stock Camera or did you work on focus/exposition time?
This because I am getting good photos with Stock camera in low light; I cannot still compare with Google Camera because my device is not rooted (I will root, maybe, after Oreo update).

Well, one of the main reasons I bought this phone was for clean android and updates etc
Could be a misunderstanding on my part but I'm assuming that rooting will mean I don't get those updates?

Thanks, maybe I prefer Google Camera, but in my opinion both cameras have similar (good) quality. Or not ?
On good lightning they are similar (stock has a bit more noise), but when the conditions are not so ideal like on my examples above difference is bigger.

Great comparison photos! The camera has always been lacking on OP devices. You got to cut corners somewhere right?
@Kirahvi Thanks. I didn't cut or edit anything (except of zoomed in images), clear JPG's straight from phones.
Please.
Can you share the APK for Google Camera and the Settings for the HDR to work.
