Hello, will this be possible? I can't upgrade to the stock Nougat firmware because I have unlocked my bootloader which is causing me problems, I can't upgrade with the instructions found here in XDA, and I'm running the latest official Marshmallow build. Thanks!
Same issue here
i think we can install nougat if we have cwm recovery. anyone know if already have this recovery?

I had no issues. I'd prefer an earlier Marshmallow build though. Doze mode in Nougat is so messed up that battery life went down a lot!!

Hi guys
searched the forums but cannot find the answer.
I have a 935f and its running the latest bootloader and modem from november. i just got this phone and have rooted and installed TWRP, when i am looking at custom roms like superman and renovate, it tells me to "update" my bootloader and modem to octobers version for superman or septembers version for renovate.
obviously i a running a later version than both of these, am i ok to flash the rom without doing anything or do i need to downgrade my bootloader then flash?
if i downgrade will i have to root and install TERP again plase?
thanks in advance for the help
My Moto G4 came with Marshmallow installed and I performed an OTA update to Nougat. I then unlocked my bootloader and flashed some custom Nougat ROMs (7.1.2, so newer than the newest official available version). Now I want to get back to stock Nougat so I can relock the bootloader and all that jazz.
As far as I can tell, only Marshmallow firmware images are available so can I safely flash that (I'm thinking "ATHENE_MPJ24.139-23.4_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.zip") and then OTA to Nougat from there or will that cause problems because I already (presumably) have the Nougat bootloader version? I don't want to brick my phone!
Note I'm using a retail United Kingdom XT1622 Moto G4.
Cheers all in advance,
treela
Ah ha! Found this:

Got back to stock Marshmallow all OK
flashing back to marshmallow and being able to relock the bootloader after doing the ota wont really work. best bet is to try and find the stock nougat image and flash it.
Hi guys,
I'm looking for a credible guide to help me downgrade from 7.0 to one version earlier.
I think it was 6.0 ? Or 6.0.1.
I'm experiencing troubles with microphone through Bluetooth and analog, and it started happening only after I updated the version.
The model is XT1642.
Thanks.

"Downgrade nougat to marshmallow" there are several guides in guides section like this https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...1643-downgrade-nougat-to-marshmallow-t3487847

Unlock bootloader, root, flash TWRP, flash 6.0.1 custom roms with 6.0.1 Gapps OR modded stock 6.0.1 like LotusRom without Gapps. N bootloader and radio are backward compatible with 6.0.1 ROMs. If u fastboot flash stock 6.0.1 then u can't jump forward to N ROMs without fastboot flash stock N rom again first as M bootloader and radio won't work with N roms
I am rooted on AOSP currently and have the 10j bootloader and modem. If I upgrade to 10p/q and keep root and TWRP will I still be able to flash AOSP roms such as lineage despite not being able to downgrade stock firmwares? Thanks.

From what I've read, as of right now you cannot use AOSP builds on anything newer than 10K. I haven't kept up with it though so maybe there is an updated method
if so, which version or file should I use?
thanks in advance.
@josuemf: Downgrading is easy peasy, no issues at all. You can even go all the way back to Marshmallow if you want. Just flash a stock ROM EDL of your choice.
