Do the YD201 and YD206 use the same touchscreen/digitizer? - YotaPhone

Do the YD201 and YD206 use the same digitizer? Just want to know because I want to repair a cracked digitizer. It still works but it's just falling apart

Glass top for XDA II?

Hello,
I am looking to purchase a glass top for my HTC Himalaya (XDAII). Does anyone know where I can get it from?
Thanks you.
abohsali,
Do you mean a new touch-screen?
Codenix.
Hello,
No, only the glass top on top of the digitizer. the digitizer is intact.
Thanks
hhmmmm maybe i'm way off but as i understand it then
the xda is lcd and then a plastic layer which is the touch-screen
mine sure dont have glass over the touch-screen of cause i have a xda1
All pdas have an LCD touch screen but there is a glass top of the LCD. When you use the stylus and tap on the screen it is on the glass top that you are tapping.
the touch part is not a part of the lcd screen itself
it's a semi soft layer on top of the lcd and can be changed without
changing the lcd
there is no glass on top of it and this is why people spend coins on
screenprotecters to put on top of the touchscreen
i have a link to a online store which sell both lcd's and touchscreens for xda1 but i dont think they work on xda2's
i`m also looking for a digitizer for an xdaII. not found once yet, xda digitixers are for sale for about $60, which is a bargain in my opinion, but when you look at the xdaII there is only one ribbon cable for the screen which incorporates the lcd and digitizer so a repair appears to be very tricky. I`ll keep looking though
Hello-I need help finding a place that in the USA can repair my xdaII. I just dropped it on my marble floor -- OOPS! I thought you may have heard of a place for me to send it?? I believe I've broken the lcd & glass...it functions fine but has major cracks/shatter marks thoughout the screen...Let me know if you can help & thank you
Hi, I have managed to brake the Touch Screen (not the LCD Display, but the Toch Pad Layer) of my XDA 2. I am looking replacement parts. If any one can advise me on cost and located preferably in UK (for sending off for repair).
I have found these sites:
http://www.pdasmart.com/pdaphonexdaii.htm
http://www.pocketpctechs.com/main~u...rs-Full+Service+Repairs~action~updateunit.htm
they are selling Touchscreen Replacement for US$125 (by Post)
Thanks..
Roy

My HD2 LCD screen broken -- Help!!

My LCD screeb broken yesterday. I have tmobile HTC HD2.But my touchscreen works fine.
Do I need to purchase this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/OEM-HTC-HD2-T858...#ht_2748wt_698
or
http://cgi.ebay.com/T-MOBILE-HTC-HD2...ht_1845wt_1014
Do I need to solder something or is just an easy fix?
Please let me know.
Thanks
Mine too
The links to the Ebay sale you posted are no longer valid.
My screen is broken also, just the touch sensitive glass (digitizer). The LCD is still in tact.
From what I understand the digitizer is harder to replace than the entire screen (digitizer+LCD) because the LCD is glued to the digitizer. There's a video on YouTube someone posted demoing the process.
http://www.globaldirectparts.com/HTC-T-Mobile-HD2-Digitizer-p/htc733745.htm
Has the digitizer for only $57 USD, but you have to order 3 at at time. If we can find someone else that's interested, then maybe we can go in and get one if that's all that you need also.
Cyph
I have done the digitizer repair, not exactly what I would call a fun time.
Easy to mess up your phone, need to make your own glue or double sided tape (to hold digitizer/lcd/frame together), about 4 little tiny wires that need to be placed correctly when putting the phone back together.
Thankfully the US HD2 does not require soldering the digitizer's connector to the lcd (the european one does), however again this is not a repair job for the feinthearted.
After all was said and done and the digitizer was repaired, the new one had the rainbow/oil effect when under a fluorescent light source, don't know if it is due to me using the wrong digitizer or what, but it did not look good. I had the same issue with a altell touch pro 1 that I purchased on ebay, it annoyed me then and it's back with a vengance.
Have fun, be very meticulous and watch the HD2 dissembler videos about 5 times before you unscrew one screw.

T MOBILE HD2 LCD replacement

GUYS I need to know if its possible to replace the TMOUS HD2's LCD only as its cracked .. the digitizer is perfect
mally
YES, it possible. I did it on my phone and firend bought one broken too on which i replaced lcd (not digitizer).
You have two ways. First is easy way.
Buy complected digitizer with lcd and you have done on hour.
Second way is buy only lcd and replace it. But there you must very very gently remove digitizer at lcd. This is littlebit tricky. You must use oven. Place oven to 50 °C and place your, attached digitizer and lcd, to oven. 10 minutes is enought. Now you can more easly detach old lcd at digitizer. Be very very careful and gently. You can scratch paint on digitizer on lcd side and also lcd itself. Attaching lcd to digitizer are used sticker adeshive tape. You need buy it too. I dont want advertize one ebay seller but you can use same dealer if you want. I had with that dealer many actions and all time all is correct. And he have most items OEM. Ebay seller name is kr-net.
I recommend first way if you do it first time or not opened any phone before.
Bestest way is give your phone to repair.

Your digitizer is painted on bottom side on edges. If you scratch this paint you get scratched look later.
If you go change it itself, i anyway reccomend buy mounted lcd with digitizer. This work not easy deal.
And more. I readed over forum that someone have later digitizer sensity problems with no compatibility different lcd and digitizer. I cant confirm it. This what i changed works perfectly.
One hint is that HD2 and HD2 T-mobile have different lcd and digitizers. HD2 have soldered version and T-mobile not. You can see it on this ebay seller page, if you get one or another item detail look on seller shop page.
You can always contact www.ppctechs.com to fix it also.

[Q] Broken screen

Hi,
I stepped on my HTC HD2 (European version) and now the screen is broken. Actually the glass istself is fine, it's something underneath it. First some black spots appeared, then they started spreading around the screen perimeter. (See attached images).
My question is what do I need to replace? The whole package? The glass? LCD screen? Digitaliser? Or are they all same thing?
Thank You.
LCD is cracked.
LCD & Digitizer glass are bonded together & can be separated.
Normal scenario is dead digitizer & removal of delicate LCD can be difficult, as you are saving Digitizer you should be OK ! take extreme care of all ribbon cables ...
You can buy these 2 parts already assembled or individually.
Worth also noting that the HD" EU model & USA T-Mobile screens & connector are not the same so do research before committing on parts purchase.
T-Mobile USA is easier to repair as has socket connector but EU version has solder connector.
Looking a photo you have EU version ...

So all I need is this part HTC Touch HD2 T8585 LCD?
P.S. Screen is fully responsive, just the black dots...
assuming you dismantle & assemble it without damaging any ribbon cables.
Most people seem to have issues with button/digitizer ribbon due to bad handling ...
also connector soldering is required if buying LCD part separate ...
Black/greenish oily dots are LCD fluid I expect.
Had the same problem with my old phone. After checking with a repair service, it was actually cheaper to buy a new one on ebay instead of getting it repaired.

I know. I asked official HTC service in my country, ant they said it would cost 350$ So I'm thinking of buying broken part myself and find someone, who could fix it for less money. We'll see how it goes

The Cheapest Way is to fix your Cracked Displayproblem by yourself. You can use US und EU Touchscreen-Glases and LCD-Displays. HTC has two Versions: With Soldering ( the 295 Version ) and Click On without Soldering ( 300er Version 2 ). Both are Working in EU-Models perfect. I preffer the better 300er Version...
Now i´m working since a couple of days ( finished today the 1st quarter from my instuctions ) on my DO IT YOURSELF Web-Project and i will bring this forward the next few Days if i have a little Time. Here the Link:
mperlitsch.hintergrundbild.com/htc_hd2.htm
It´s complete in German ( because this is my Language and the Reason for my poor englisch here ), but i bet you can do that Step by Step when you look at my Pictures. Remember: It´s not finished yet, only 25%. I will write the whole Process to Change a complete "Touch-LCD Modul" and Parts ( Glas or LCD from 295er and 300er Version ). It´s really easy to separate the Module e.g. Glas from LCD ( i need 30 Sec. to do that without heating up only with a simple thin Guitar-Plec). The Only problem is to find the correct adhesive Sticker tape. The 3M Brands with 2mm is perfect to Tape the Glas and LCD together.
I recommend for every 1st Timer to buy a complete 300er Click On Touch/LCD Modul. It´s ready to use and a easy; fast and Cheap way. And if you destroy the Glas in 1-2 Years, you can Replace only the Glas without Soldering.
Best Regards and excuse my poor english,
Michael

HTC Leo screen replacement

Recently, my son dropped my HTC HD2(Europe/Greece version). The result was a broken screen. As I found out later, only the cover glass(digitizer) was broken and the LCD was OK.It even worked over the broken glass but it was dangerous to cut yourself anytime.
I looked in ebay and found a new digitizer at about $15. I also found a guide on youtube on how to open the HD2 and replace the digitizer. I followed all this steps (difficult and tricky but possible) just to find out that the ribbon cable of the old digitizer was welded(soldered) on the LCD. I found out after that, that there are 2 types of HD2. The one like mine and the (I think) T-mobile version which is with a connector.
I had no luck trying to mannually solder the ribbon cable on the LCD. I am not so good on that.
The next is to order a preassembled LCD with a digitizer. It costs about $40-$70 on ebay. It is a litle expensive, so I 'I try to keep it safe. Has anyone else experienced this situation? Are there different types of LCD as it is for the Digitizer?
Can anyone help me on making a corect decision?
Thank you

You should buy The T8585 model.
Don't worry if Tmobile is written on the screen.
