Hey! So I added persist.debug.wfd.enable=1 to my build.prop to enable miracasting via the connect app on my laptop. My 6P refuses to connect with the error code "something went wrong with this projection". My friend's Galaxy s7 works properly though. My 6P is running stock 7.1.2, rooted with magisk, and running the elemental X kernel. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Doesn't it just do the same tweak to get miracast working though?

As I know, there's no Miracast support under n. It worked for me with custom mm rom, never tested with stock mm. No it's not only depending to the persist build.prop entry.

How's the camera for all of you?
Having problems here with the auto ISO on the camera, running ElementalX kernel.
Edit: Yep, confirmed, 7.0 custom kernels cause camera problems on 7.1.1
Has anybody testeed root methods or twrp on 7.1 yet? Figured I would ask before I tried it.

I did and everything was working just fine until I tried flashing a tweak to make the nav bar look like the pixel. it sucks because now I will have to go back and redo everything I just did. installing twrp worked, rooting worked, installing the pixel launcher worked, changing the build prop to enable google assistant worked just not the mod to change the nav bar.
Just so everyone knows NexusRootToolkit by Wugfresh works like a charm

Yes it worksjist like it did on 7.0. I used the flashable zip method.
Another quick question,
I downloaded from here:
https://developer.android.com/preview/download.html#top
to get a .zip file. Do in install this in TWRP? I was expecting to have to use NRT.

Yes u can use it. But device may reboot while installing. If it rebooted: Don't do any wipes, just re-run installation!

No you download it on your PC and put your phone in fastboot then run the flash all.bat file and it does everything for you
I am stock rooted on 7.0. I am guessing I can't install the OTA ?
I can't get twrp to work. It keeps wanting to decrypt and it still won't read my storage if I am decrypted. I tried 3.0.2.1, 2.2, and 2.3

Hey, so I am currently on the official Marshmallow firmware and wanted to install viper4android. What I did was install SELinuxMode Changer, busybox and the V4A apk. Set SELinux Mode to permissive and installed the driver.
The App says that everything is installed, normal and ready to go. But whatever I do it does not change the sound. I did the same with another device earlier that also runs marshmallow and it worked just fine.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: What i noticed is that when i set it to force enable and restart the song it works for around 4 seconds. Then it justs tops.
Marshmallow right?
You tried this thread? It works in stock Marshmallow. Just follow the given instructions.

Well he said that he is on stock FW, that means not rooted. That link would not help.
I am using the XtremeMusic mod that includes Viper, however I am rooted too. That means unlocked bootloader and void warranty.

Stock firmware can be rooted. Also he has selinux mode changer so that also needs root.
So the above method should be fine.
I didn't say it can't. He just didn't specify that.

Hello! First of all, i would say that i am currently running Omni 6.0.1 ROM.
I also have tried CM13, Lineage OS 14.1, Omni (6.0.1, 7.1.X), KEM ROM, AOSP.
What i want is a rooted stock Sony ROM (6.0.1) not Nougat because the lack of the possibility of installing Xposed framework. Any guides and ROM's are appreceated. My device again: Sony Xperia X Compact (F5321, KUGO).
BTW tried flashing 6.0.1 ftf and fastboot flash recovery recovery.img but result was a bootloop and TWRP. I am running a stock kernel (and i do not wish to modify that). Thanks and please reply!

use flashtool to downgrade to marshmallow, choose the earliest version you see in xperifirm. (maybe the jounalist rom etc, no problem in using that i believe)
basically just follow this guide, but use an older fw so that you get mm

oops. you said you tried this, but it gives you a bootloop.
did you try wiping data/system all that stuff, because i would not be surprised if you bootloop after downgrading, without wiping some stuff

Hi qvmuhuuxz! Pretty sure it's not your real name! If i downgrade, it is ok and no bootloop, but if i try to reinstall twrp and boot to twrp to flash SuperSU it says that it succeeded but if i try to boot after that then there either is no root or bootloop occurrs. Ideas?
BTW tried Resurrection Remix and i was dissapointed because Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, Camera etc. didn't work...
JIC i made a nandroid backup so if i mess sth. up it is ok. I had an Galaxy Express 2 with RR and i loved it. Shame
Anywhoo i will try again to just install twrp and boot to system, i haven't tried it yet...

Hi, assuming your data is unencrypted...? (actually TWRP can handle XC's encrypted data with Marshmallow, but not nougat - so if you are playing with 6.0 it shouldn't matter encrypted or not)
It sounds like the problem is SU.
Yes please try to reboot after installing TWRP.
I recommend Magisk, it worked great for me.
Flash Magisk v12 instead of SU and install the apk for Magisk Manager 4.3.3.
I can't recommend the latest version of Magisk because it doesn't work for me the few times I tried to upgrade. v12 works perfectly..
Let me know how you get on. I have working Android Pay, everything is good.

Hello there with good news, Magisk 13 worked flawlessly and i got xposed framework working too. I guess there was a problem with the SuperSU package, although i downloaded several packages. Anyway super duper thanks for the help. I appriciate it! I have a question, is there some advanced themes for XC too (MM) that is? I tried MIUI theme but with no luck. Thanks!

Hi, sorry if it took too long but here you go!
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862722746
Xposed for Nougat is out, I upgraded from Marshmallow and have no complaints other than substratum not working on Nougat for Xperias. If you need a working Marshmallow I have my copy of .198 here- https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bx5gPVuLapkKTU1vOHVsLTMzWGc
Use flashtool 9.22.3 for marshmallow or else it wont work. The Androplus kernel with drm patch doesnt patch drm correctly either so you need to make your own with ta_poc. You HAVE to run a modified kernel to be able to make modifications to system and to be able to boot up TWRP, no way around that. Thats why I build my own with ta_poc using the stock kernel.
BTW STOP using SuperSU, its been sold to a chinese company and is no longer open source, use magisk, you probably want to pass safetynet as well since Google is cracking down on root.
I seen that Magisk was updated to version 15.0 so I was wondering if anyone had problems with it and how you updated from the previous version. Thank you.
I was getting reboots on v14.3 and v14.6 on Oreo Beta 2 but I have not gotten a single reboot since flashing v15.0 earlier today (been running for maybe 8 hours now.)

Just updated.
No issues yet. Safety net is okay.
I'm also using it with no problems. I rooted the phone using the intructions from Magisk to root the pixel phones and it worked great, no need to use twrp.
So far so good on 15.0
No reboots o Android auto for my 2 driving sessions. If I was on 14.3, would have happened already
My phone bootloop if i update from 14.5 (beta) to 15. Fortunately i had a backup and i restored boot partition through twrp...
No issues. Went straight from Stock, to Beta 1, updated via OTA to Beta 2. Then followed the instructions: https://forum.xda-developers.com/essential-phone/how-to/guide-rooting-essential-ph-1-magisk-t3701976

Hi, I'm currently on a RR build for Nougat and I was thinking of updating to a RR build based on 8 or 9, only to test a few things for the moment. If I wanted to go back to 7, could I make a nand backup and go back to 7 from 8/9 by simply flashing it? Or would there be no turning back?
Thanks.

Which TWRP version are you running? If you are on official 3.2.1-0 and you've the latest OOS 3.6.1 FW as base, you're good to go :good:
I will have to check my TWRP, I think it may be the hybrid one.
How can I find out my OOS FW?

You should find it in your build.prop, but try dialing *#1234# first.
Maybe it'll show you the FWv ver. from your currently ROM, not sure
BTW if you updated your phone to lastest MM from Oneplus, you're running the 3.6.1 FW
No luck with the code, whick line should I look for in build.prop?
bump
I've been looking at my build.prop but I couldn't find anything related. Any hints?
Thanks.
I ended it up doing the update anyway, thanks to all.
