Hi. I have a Verizon LG G2 VS980, which I rooted a few days ago. I had some trouble flashing TWRP and that has caused some issues now. When my phone is turned on, it just recycles the Verizon animation. When I try to do a hard reset, I get a "secure booting error" and then the phone turns off. When I go into download mode to possibly download firmware updates it just sits at 0%. I'm completely lost and can't seem to find any help that is unique to my problem. If you can help, please leave very detailed instructions. Thank you.

Follow this thread to flash stock firmware. Look for VS980 and do whats told.
And dont forget to change COM port to COM41 from device manager of pc. Its very important.

I did the KDZ method, but the LG Mobile Support Tool stops and says "lost connection to server". Then I click retry and it stops at 2% and says "Upgrade stopped due to an error". I've retried many times. Also, I made sure to download the KDZ file under Verizon. I don't understand.

Kdz should be fine.
LG Mobile Support Tool?? You should be using LG FLASH TOOL mentioned in the post.
Did u download all the files and drivers needed?
To enter Download Mode press and holding vol up key insert the usb cable.
If Normal flash doesnt work try CSE flash located at the bottom of the tool.

During the process, the LG Flash Tool opens up the LG Mobile Support Tool. Yes, I downloaded the verizon kdz file and both drivers. I followed the guide but no luck.

Strange problem!!
Try uninstalling LG Mobile Support Tool and try again every step very carefully.
If that also fails, hope u got warranty, so take it to service center and i think its the best option as of now.

The same thing was happening to mine! All I did to fix it was....
1. Make sure its turned off by holding the power button until the lg logo stops popping up
2. Hold down Power button+Volume down at the same time
3. Let go of both when you see the lg logo come up and quickly hold down on the power button again
4. From here a white screen will come up saying something like (to factory reset press the power button)
5. After you press it TWRP or Clockwork revovery will come up depending on what you installed
6. Recover your backup

If you can go download mode there'll be no problem. Use flash tot method.

No man i cant even go to download mode. The phone screen turns on when i connect it to laptop. after some time it starts turning on-off rapidly. and rarely red led is also flashed.
Ok so what you are going to do is to press the volume up button and connect your usb cable. After that you should be in download mode. Follow the instructions of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 and i suggest you would choose the kdz method. Good luck

Holding volume up and power doesn't go download mode? You can try the SRK tool just download it. If it doesn't work you need the boarddiag method just search it here. I hope it'll be fixed soon.
I killed my 802 flashing CM13 onto it.
LG logo would flash up, no download mode but I could boot into recovery. However the phone wasnt seen in windows and did the multiple partitions thing a few have mentioned.
SRKtool fixed it, theres also a guide on youtube on how to use the software.

I will try to explain everything from the beginning. I was about to install a custom rom install (it was in 7.1.1 stock, unlocked bootloader) so when I was going to do full wipe with lastest TWRP there was an error. Wait for about 15 minutes just in case, but nothing happened so I decided to restart it to try again. But the phone stuck in the ZTE logo and if it tried to enter TWRP was stuck in the logo too, I tried with all versions of TWRP and no one works. Find a post that said I could use TWRP tenfars tool to recover my phone and had to enter the EDL mode. I managed to put the phone in edl mode but now I can not get out of it. I press and hold the power button for a minute and nothing happens (no vibration, no led, no ZTE logo) my pc just does the unplug windows sound. My pc recognizes the phone as QUSB_BULK. When I try to use the tenfars tool I get this message:

rename recovery.img to recovery.bin.

You need two files, recovery.img and recovery.bin in same folder. (Don't forget to unzip tenfars TWRP and after that rename and make a copy)

You will find tenfar 3.0.2-2 TWRP at download center:

Once unzipped, copy it to recovery.bin:
copy twrp_rec_tenfar.img recovery.bin
Thanks to everyone for your answers, I was able to recover my phone using miflash, qualcom usb drivers and this ROM https://build.nethunter.com/misc/axon7/A2017U_B15-NEW_FULL_EDL.zip I put my phone in EDL mode and then flash the mentioned rom. It took me like 20-30 tries to finally get it. The last attempt I made was to unplug the device from the computer, I kept the power button for 10 seconds and connect it to the computer without ever releasing the power button. It was seen as always (black screen, not led) but for some reason this time works. I hope everyone can solve this problem. Can pm me if you need help, maybe i can help with something

That's because you reset the EDL that way. the method is weird but seemed to work...
If you hold the 3 buttons for ~10 secs while the device is in EDL it will reset it
@Choose an username... I am out of context, but I wonder if I can remove the ugly message on each startup telling it can't check if the device is not corrupted... I think this message is caused by the unlocked bootloader. A solution ? Thank you.

I'd advice against doing it... I had no trouble with it but a bunch of people now have paperweights. But yeah, the link is the one provided by the other guy above me

Its showing because your device is not rooted. Mounting system requires root previlage in your device.
Root your device and try again.

Download the mena firmware, and then press and hold power button and volume down button it will force reboot your device, then your phone may get rebooted and go on black screen
Dont worry, take a deep breath and keep patience
And do the following steps
Install OST and follow the steps down here
The instructions will be for OST tool and for mena firmware but you can install Chinese varient too
Install OST tool
Now
1. Open ur directory, c:/program files x86/OST and replace the online update tool from there and delete the config file,
AND REMEMBER THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT,
2. Open online update tool from ur directory only, from c:/program files x86/OST only, donot start it from any shortcut created on desktop or from start menu, just start it from its original directory,
if it still gives error about microsoft error warning, try fresh replacing ur online update tool again from the zip
And start the program from there only, once it successfully started
3. Click next, then choose the firmware mena, that is
PLE-3320-0-00WW-A02.nb0 file your one could be CNxxxx) and put ur phone into bootloader,
For now what you need to do is connect your phone and keep holding your power button for a while till it switches off your device and leave the button once if it turned of before it get rebooted
It should automatically take you to boot loader or else try this step for 1-2 time again you will surely rebooted to bootloader
Once it boot to bootloader
click next button on OST, now the first time u may stuck on flashing splash file and ur phone could restarted
4. Follow all the same steps again
5. Start the tool again
The tool will surely give u error for Microsoft.net
Dont panic
Close it and replace the online update tool again
6. Remember no matter if u replace the file before error, it will give error for one time surely
7. Replace it again with online updating tool and the start it from the directory
8. Now Click next, then choose the firmware mena, that is
PLE-3320-0-00WW-A02.nb0 ( your one could be CNxxxx) file and put ur phone into bootloader
Same as above i told once to goto the bootloader by connecting phone and keep holding power button untin it get rebooted and release the power button just after the phone turns off and before it get rebooted.
9. Now it should be connected and click next this time your phone will get flashed successfully...if it give error again, then try one more time u will be successfully installed the mena firmware
I know its a long procedure but it will help you

Look every step is written, your phone will be recognised once you start ost tool
When u start the tool the ost will ask you to browse the firmware file with .nb0 extension
Then it will ask you to connect the phone
Now connect your phone
Then keep holding volume down and power button together, once your phone get turned off then it will show u that its been booted into bootloader or download mode, click next on ost tool and it will start flashing your device
Thats all

hey man ! i'm pretty happy because the situation is clearly better now, my phone discharged today and i putted it in charge the charging logo was here, i tried to power it on but it always boots on twrp recovery what should i do

man i just discovered that in twrp's file manager the /system folder only contains a "bin" file, everything in the /system file has been erased, i suppose i only have to get a fresh system file ? and i found out that my phone is recognizing the pc normally now ! so where can i find this fresh system file ?

In twrp you can goto to power option and select download mode or bootloader
Thats all
With download mode you can simply flash your phone using OST tool

Yes it will but your user data wont be deleted
And you can apply update through OTA with stock recovery menu
And also you will get the oreo update if you do so

hi, i can't flash or update anything because i rooted my phone and making update will brick my phone : "10.After your phone rooted, you can reboot your phone. DO NOT INSTALL ANY OTA UPDATES OR YOUR PHONE WILL GET STUCK AT STOCK RECOVERY (However I've never tested Magisk on Nokia 6), but I’ll recommend you to disable automatic update in settings."

M again telling you follow all steps care fully
When OST tool will ask you to connect your phone then goto recovery mode in your phone and select power option and then select bootloader
When it will be booted to download mode connect your phone to pc and then select next button on OST tool into your pc
Flashing your phone will unroot your phone
Thats all it will start flashing and then you can install all the OTA with stock recovery
If you stuck on any step follow the steps for OST tool that i provided you earlier in this thread

then stock again,
then, like the noob that I am, I removed twrp with
ZTE_A2017GV1.2.0B04_Full_Stock_Reverter_by_tron1.zip
which installs stock recovery
so, now I have a stock rom that won't boot,
an unlocked bootloader
and stock recovery
Not sure what to do from here

I can abd sideload and update from SD card, but everything I have fails signature verification.
edit: so frustrating trying to find that 1 zip

Just use MiFlash, that one's guaranteed to work. Read my DFU unbrick guide to know how to use it. Just skip the part where you have to disassemble the phone, since you can get to EDL mode by (with the phone off and the USB cable connected to the PC) holding both volume buttons and inserting the USB-C cable to the phone.
I did read your guide, was, hoping to avoid dismantling it...
I tried pressing all 3 buttons.
Am I understanding the procedure correctly:

MiFlash running at this point??
Hold both volume keys in and in insert Cable to Phone
at this point is the phone supposed to switch on?
At no point am I supposed to press the power button?

Ah.... ok... so, the phone will display nothing, rely on the sound of PC and/or the device manager check and/or hit refresh on miflash
Fyi to anyone, if you have axon7toolkit installed and thus can't install a second version of MiFlash, open up the toolkit and hit 7 (unlock bootloader) to fire up MiFlash... or just go to C:\XiaoMi\XiaoMiFlash
the FULL_EDL file I have produces a couldn't find script Error when loading into MiFlash
so far when attempting to flash all zips
I have started MiFlash with admin
unzipped FULL_EDL file to a folder in root C:\ and ensured there are no spaces in address.
Every time / Every file produces couldn't find script error when loaded into MiFlash
when I attempt to flash the file it says cannot receive hello packet and then times out with an error
Tried disabling anti-virus/firewall, still same error
upgraded MiFlash to 2017.4.24.0 ( older 2016 is included with axon7toolkit), this removes the couldn't find script error, but still not receiving a hello packet, gunna fiddle with the phone as I'm pretty sure the error is coming from there

rebooted phone, turned off, restarted into EDL, flashed the stock rom from zte site... is in chinese... but it works. Thank you Thank you

it offers a file "AXON 7(ZTE A2017G) SD card software package(328540B2634ZTE A2017GV1.0.0B11)"
which hints at being compatible with A2017G... but is A2017V and is chinese, although you can change the language in settings there is still plenty here and there, plus chinese bloatware
and No, I didn't get cell signal.
I've gone back to Marshmellow, I will try again, didn't think it would be so different/difficult... Although wow at MiFlash.

... after I finally got it working again (thanks for the assist), I thought relocking it was just making it secure again. I been rooting/unrooting and swapping out roms since the galaxy s2, who'd think you can't unlock and relock... I do think there should be warnings as it is too easy a mistake to make... lmao stop doing dumb stuff you start first
My phone is insured so I'm not overly fussed, but others will be less fortunate.
hello everywone...i have a troble to...my phone is A2017GV1.2.0B04 like this in post.
I bay this phone whit broken screen, i change the screen and try sim card but the phone is locked Whit google account... When I try my sim to test microphone, the phone it's work OK, but I unlock google account whit add tools and after that my phone don't have a service.
Phone tells no service or turned off airplane mode...what is not true... I can change the 4g/3g/2g connection to only 3g or something else... Wi-Fi and everything else work great but no service... The phone see what operator is on sim but no service... Somebody to help me please and tell me some tutorials how to fix?
I by this phone from Denmark and now I'm in Serbia... Eny help please
