Hi
I tried to flash the knock code for open-devices over a rooted stock rom with custom recovery - so everytime I boot it automatically boots into custom recovery.
How do I enter download-mode to unbrick it using the offline-fix for the LG R&D Test tool? Holding volume up while plugging in the cable boots into TWRP and holding volume up+power also boots to TWRP..
Everything I try boots into TWRP even if it should boot to Download-Mode
SOLVED: (my problem was wrong searches within XDA and Google - "no boot after flashing knock code" isn't "LG G2 download mode doesn't working")
1. Open in TWRP:
Advanced - Terminal - Select / as folder - go to terminal
2. Enter
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
and hit "GO"
3. Enter
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
and hit "GO"
4. Back to main menu in TWRP - hit reboot -> System
now worked...
i bricked my LG G2 after instaling TWRP, i went to the app, test it by clicking reboot , saw it is warked fine and tap reboot- system.
its stuck on the LG logo on start.
i tryed to "factory reset" my phone by - wipe- advanced wipe.....
tryed also the commads:
"before trying anything else just type in these commands
What worked for me was from the TWRP terminal command was to type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
then hit enter
type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
then hit enter and reboot.
got help from the IRC xda-devs for the second step to complete the fix."
still stuck.
mybe i done some of thoes thing wrong to fix that.....i tryed the command thing 3 times.
*sorry for my bad English.
plz help!!!

By reading you comments what i understand is your mobile stuck at bootloop...
But you can access twrp...
Right
Try this
In TWRP, Go to advance, then go to Terminal and write down these codes one-by-one.
1. Code (Text): dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota Now press enter, and write down another code.
2. Code (Text): dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
Press enter again! Then go to main menu, go to Reboot and hit System. You're done, enjoy!
If doesn't work reply i will provide you the link for qfil

I had installed zui 2.5 rom, it was working all fine, I didi factory reset without knowing that it doesn't work on flashed rom and rooted device. Now my phone is opening on TWRP screen, i installed rom again not working, then I saw your comment, I did these two commands in terminal but it is showing
syntax error: unexpected word (expecting ")" ) even when I copied exactly same code still. Please help ASAP!!

Manual Update from March 7 2018 build to March 14 2018.
Hey guys! I got this update recently and i wanted to install it manually after being unable to update automatically from the installer. So, i flashed the update file and everything was fine until the first 3-4 minutes but then i realized that my phone got into a bootlool.
Things I've tried,
1. Wiped Dalvik Cache and other cache from recovery.
2. Tried reinstalling the same file hoping it would save me.
3. Googled about it and found a guy named Karmicks giving the terminal code for exiting the loop. Still no luck!
I was on Nextbit Robin Lineage OS 14.1 Nightly ether build March 7 2018 before flashing.
It's my only device. I need help in getting it out of bootloop without any data loss ( exception if it's a serious case ).
Kindly let me know if you've got anything that can help me. Email me at "[email protected]"

It's work for Lenovo K6 power(k33a42)?
Iam also having same bootloops problem.
thankyou soo much bro it worked on my moto e5 plus (hannah)
same problem man .
i had flashed multiple rom but at last it will throw me to twrp only
Hi,I am using Lenovo zuk Z1. I flashed lineage os 14.1 .
As there was a OTA update I tried to install it.But it failed. So I tried manually flashing it.But after flashing my phone boots only into twrp mode repeatedly.I usually flash the update manually. But this time I tried through the lineage update and it failed. So I went back manually flashing it. I am unable to solve this issue. So can anyone help me?
Flash a new rom ( rr, lineage, nuclear,... )
Then reboot
If it continues to be rebooted into recovery
Try this code in twrp terminal
You can find it in the Advance, and then choose twrp terminal
Just find it, twrp terminal
Then write that code
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
ENTER
Then wait for a while
Then write
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
ENTER
then reboot
It will work

This will fix it without losing any data. (NO FACTORY RESET NEEDED)
Go to TWRP recovery terminal commands, and enter the following:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
PRESS ENTER
THEN TYPE
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
THEN PRESS ENTER
REBOOT
This should boot up your phone without any changes.
