P9 Lite only doesn't connect to PC - Huawei P9 Lite Questions & Answers

Hello, recently my device stopped being detected on PC. When I connect USB cable, it only starts charging, without debug mode and MTP. I tried 6 different cables, and both Windows 10 and Arch Linux. Also, it takes more time for the device to detect that cable is connected than before. Anybody had a problem like this before? Are there any solutions available?

Hi! I had the exact same problem last week. I tried everything I could think of but to no avail. I took the phone back to the store and the in-store geek could not solve the problem either. Eventually, they gave me a replacement handset there and then.

What is your Windows version ? I already have this issue using a "Naked" version of Windows (without Media Player pack).

Try turning on debugging and selecting file transfer in notifications when you plugged it in also there is a auto mode when you plug it into a computer you may have changed it to another option that stops you from doing file transfers try look and see if you accidentally did that it should look like this.

[Solved] HD2 Connection problem with Win7 & WMDC

Massive problem, HD2 gurus please help me here:
HTC HD2 & WMDC & Win7 x64 = Not working.
I've downloaded WMDC x64 bit from Microsoft's official site, installed the app, plugged my phone in the USB port..... and nothing happens. Win7 x64 does not pick up the phone via any of my USB port (I've tried like 4 different USB ports already).
Here is the weird part, Windows doesn't even pick up the HD2 as an USB device. I doubled checked via Task manager, and nothing has been detected. I have scanned for new hardware via the device manager countless of times.
Nothing shows up, not in device manager, nor control panel. Having WMDC installed doesn't help either, the app simply doesn't recognise HD2 via USB cable. Even with WMDC uninstalled, Windows just can't detect my HD2, but when I plug my Nokia N97 in the same USB port, Win7 picks it up as a mass storage device straight away.
Basically the phone will only charge the battery from the USB port, and nothing else. Win7 x64 doesn't even flinch when I plug the phone in, nothing pops up, WMDC says no device is found. I've tried just about everything, googled a bit and it seems like I'm not the only one that's suffering from this problem.
Here is a list of all the possible solutions that I've tried :
Ran WMDC as system administrator

Please help me, this is a great phone and I can't wait to use it properly. But this has been an incredibly annoying experience.
Thanks in advance.
Edit :
Problem solved. Turned out that T-Mobile's USB cable was broken, I had to use my Nokia N97's cable to connect my HD2 to my PC

Had the same issue last night when I first tried to sync my HD2. Same issues, ended up being I needed to update the Bios on my motherboard. Ironically it worked after I plugged it in and failed the driver install. Then went to Device Manager and ran update driver for the picked up devices. Works like a champ now. Hope this helps in some way.

Somehow I doubt that I will need to update my motherboard's BIOS, as my PC picks up the Nokia N97 perfectly fine. Having said that, I'm busy dling my mobo's latest BIOS right now.
Will let you know how it works out.
Edit : Nope, just as I thought. Didn't rectify the problem, thanks for your advise though.
Okay, the BIOS update scared me for a second there. I didn't revert back to the default setting after the BIOS update, which made all the USB ports malfunction on my PC. I couldn't use the keyboard nor the mouse, but I solved that problem by clearing the CMOS with a jumper.
Anyway, that's not the problem... The PC still wouldn't reconise the HD2. What I have noticed is as soon as I plug my HD2 in the USB port, HD2 automatically runs the activesync.exe
Having said that, the PC still can't identify the HD2 as an USB device. Absolutely zero response from Windows 7 x64. I've been trying to rectify this problem for over 6 hours already. I have googled dozens of pages, tried just about every single solution (bar the formatting option, which I will leave it as the absolutel final resort).
Please, can someone help me.
Gentlemen, have any of you tried a usb hub?
For the heck of it, have you tried it on a different PC? Have you tried a different cable? I am not sure what cable the N97 uses. I apologize I'm not trying to be an ass or anything, just wanted to find out if it's the handset's micro USB connection problem.

Yes, I have tried it on two different laptops, both have Win7 x86 installed.
I didn't install WMDC, instead I just plugged the HD2 in the USB port, hoping that Windows will automatically download WMDC and install everything on it's own. But alas, no luck with that either. Laptop could not detect the phone via USB cable, nor Bluetooth.
EDIT : OMG, I think I found the solution. Thanks, N1M1TZ. You actually did help me by suggesting the switch of USB cables. Since the Nokia N97 works flawlessly on my PC via USB, and the fact that both the HD2 and N97 uses the microUSB format, I was able to get the HD2 hooked up to the laptop. So it seems like T-Mobile's HD2 USB cable is the culprit. Well, it's in the bin now, I'm gonna use N97's USB cable for both of my phones in the future.
I'm glad you got it working. I had the same issue with my usb cable. Went out and purchased a replacement cable and found this ReTrak USB to micro USB cable. I have used their cables for most of my stuff from patch cord to adapters instead of my cables getting tangled or tied up together. Here's their website for more info http://www.emergeretail.com/Default.aspx

If you have an unlocked bootloader use this tool to lock it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.segv11.bootunlocker
To unroot use the permanent unroot feature in SuperSU.
Order is important since the Bootloader tool requires root.

thanks. i installed the android sdk and java jdk but still have the problem. i believe the problem is with the phone 100%
my nexus always shows that it's charging on AC whenever plugged in. doesn't matter if it even is to AC or USB. the phone shows up as unrecognized device with a bang in the USB section of the device manager. on some computers it doesn't even show up.
i tried on my macbook pro and it doesn't even show up there but in every case, the phone charges.
wondering if there's a switch or toggle somewhere that will turn it on and get it working
i'm going to install a windows xp VM as a last ditch resort and see if it at least shows up there.

Make sure your device is on MTP and try an other data cable which has no missing/broken data wires inside.

That is strange, it should work with the Windows Virtual Machine.
Maybe it is to do with the standalone machine using it in the same time.

Same problem here. USB is not recognized using my Nexus 4 ( it used to be recognized on two PCs, but no longer), but another Nexus 4 connects perfectly. I can only charge a USB rate on chargers that used to charge at ac rate. I've tried everything, and more than mentioned in this thread.

Hi guys,
Seems that I've got the same trouble. Got my N4 (stock ROM, 4.2.2) a couple of weeks ago and everything was ok - connection as MTP, connection for debug and so on. But yesterday I connected it to my PC and found that the device indicates charging but not USB connexion. So I've tried to reboot PC and N4, tried other cables and 2 other PCs (my with Win8, and those with Win7 and Linux Mint if matters). Other devices are ok (Huawei Honor, N7, Milestone2).
The phone just doesn't detect USB connection - in both MTP and PTP. Then I tried to plug in wall charger and connect back again to USB. AND IT WORKED! The phone detected the connection so I was able to mount it and detect with adb. I thought that the problem was solved but when I connected it next time - same ****. This time nothing helps (most likely that there wasn't any casual relationship between wall charger connection and temporary fix...)
What options I've got now? Try to root the device and look into syslog to detect if it's a software issue or disassemble the device and try to find any defects on USB port?
Thank you,
Alex

I got mine to work by using a 2 into 1 usb plug. The kind that comes with portable CD writers. Once I got it working I reflashed stock 422 and the problem is gone. Turns out it was a bad flash from the previous owner.

Thanks for advice. During this day it worked properly twice - the phone just started detecting connection. No obvious reasons for that... I got a new device with stock 422 from amazon and haven't flashed or event rooted it. How do you think, should I try to flash it with official 4.2.2? Now I can say that it's most likely a software issue.

Tried it out - the result is the same. Now I can not even unlock the bootloader to reflash 422... Btw I didn't managed to find a 2into1 cable but checked if the same trick would work with USB hub with external power - it works really better. The device can detect the connection almost all the times and I can see it listed in adb devices and as a mounted storage. Though in fastboot mode this doesn't help. Device remains unrecognized.

well if you're getting a connection to the computer but not in fastboot, your drivers might just need removal/reinstallation.
once you get it going, reflash the stock 4.2.2 from google and see how it goes.
if that doesn't work and you can get it going, get it replaced by Google.
if you can, try it on a mac.. they don't need the drivers installed. just run it all from terminal.
Okay, I've managed to track down the issue...
Once I got it available for fastboot I've unlocked bootloader and then flashed with Cyanogen. The problem remained but I could get dmesg output for plug-in event. I've managed to get logs for problematic case (doesn't detect USB data connexion) and for correct behavior case (when Android detects USB data connection).
No sense to put the whole log pieces here just a brief quotes.
For correct case:
Code:
Avail curr from USB = 500
For incorrect case:
Code:
Avail curr from USB = 1500
USB module firmware tells the system that it has detected data-connection and enabled low-power mode (500mA). In this case Android initiates mtp and adb:
Code:
<6>[62539.001178] adb_open
<6>[62539.001269] mtp_bind_config
<6>[62539.001422] adb_bind_config
And in problematic case USB module firmware incorrectly indicates for the OS that there are only power-connection (5V/ground). I cant say exactly where the issue is but there are only two options - bug in USB module firmware or physical fault of connection (pins, bus or whatever else). Anyway I've to replace USB module or just go with it and use adb over network (the matter is that sending the device back to Amazon seller from my country would cost me 1/3 of the purchase total so I consider that just unreasonable).
Thanks to LG - for my money I got not only a box with device but also whole lotta fun =)

[Q] USB Connection

First off I have searched repeatedly and cannot find someone with the same problem as me. So if there is point me in the right direction.
My Nexus 4 won't connect to a computer via USB, it will charge, but it treats it as if it were plugged into a AC adapter. my computer also does not recognize that there is something connected to it (no errors, no trying to install drivers, and no unknown devices in computer management).
I have tried:
Multiple USB cords
Multiple Computers
Multiple OS's
Multiple ROMs (it has an unlocked bootloader from when it worked)
Does anyone have any idea what's wrong with it? Or how it could possibly be fixed?
Thanks,
Matt

i had the exact same issue and was able to get it fixed by using a usb 2 into 1 cable. like the ones that come with an external portable cd writer. once it got recognized, i wiped completely and went back to stock and locked bootloader. problem has not come back since. it was probably a bad flash that caused the issue.
once you get it going again, get it rma exchanged just in case.

on your problem it can be because of the micro usb jack of the phone. if it gets charged it should get connected also.
I am having the same problem. My Nexus 4 used to connect to computers just fine, but now it only charges from them. Like the OP I have tried many things:
Multiple USB cables
Multiple Ports on...
Multiple PCs running...
Windows 8 and 7
Debugging On or Off
MTP or PTP
Multiple versions of CyanogenMod
Factory Data Reset
Absolutely nothing lets my N4 connect to a computer (besides charge)
When I go to Settings>More...>Tethering, the USB Tethering option is grayed out and it says "USB not connected)
If anyone has the solution, please help.

Weird USB connection problem - any ideas?

Hello all. I've got a problem with my N4 in that when I connect it to a PC via USB, the PC does not recognize any connection at all. It's not even saying "unknown device", just nothing. I've tried connecting it to multiple PC's (win 7, Win 8, Win 10) and with multiple USB cables, but I don't get anything. The only time I get something at all is if I turn on USB debugging on the N4. In this case, the PC recognised that a device has been connected, but doesn't seem to know what it is as it can't find the correct drivers to install.
This used to work fine on my Win7 machine, so I'm not sure what's changed. Anyone got any ideas what I can try to fix it?
Thanks for any help.
What I noticed before I replaced my USB port was that the port was worn out. It would charge/work with a brand new high quality cable, but wouldn't work right with an older cable.
As cables vary in quality and the data pins are different than the power pins, try cleaning the lint out of your USB port and try connecting with a brand new cable.
Just thinking out loud.
I am just going to toss this out there as one thing to check, as I know it affected me on Win8, and I think MS may have pushed out to the other versions if you did not revert the driver update yourself. http://www.eightforums.com/drivers-...usb-issue-since-last-windows-8-1-updates.html
Thanks for the link. that solved the problem. Once I set the connection to MTP. all PC's now recognise the device again. Many thanks!

Looks like the drivers in your PCs are not compatible. Get the correct drivers and try.
When some other drivers get installed, sometimes the existing drivers cease to work. I have faced this issue and solved it by installing correct drivers again.
You can also use NRT for this.

USB connection to PC Windows 7 not working

My OP2 is not getting detected after connecting through USB on Windows 7 64bit. I see Bluetooth Peripheral device driver not found error. It was working before. USB debugging is enabled. I have installed Oneplus 2 drivers separately and tested, but still unable to connect. restarts also done..no luck..please help..have to transfer a lot of music, movies etc.
I have tested it after unlocking the phone. Not working.
I had downloaded Oneplus 2 toolkit and installed the drivers separately. No luck.
It was working before on the same PC .When I connected it first time, I had ran the setup and was able to transfer files to-and -fro. Now everytime i connect, it gives the weird Bluetooth driver error in the device manager.
I have checked on a different PC as well. Its not working. So its definitely the OP2 or its cable.
Have tried clear data on the medistorage app under settings/apps/all reboot and still no luck.
I had the same problem! I tried everything, in the end, it was the cable. I only noticed when it stopped charging my OPT, so I would advise you to check with another Computer if it works there. If not, try another cable! For me, all problems were solved with another cable. Have to contact OnePlus yet, the cable is not even one month old...
I hope you figure it out!
Same Problem!
I'm facing the same challenge. OP2 was connecting on any machine earlier but now it has simply stopped doing so. I have tried on 3 different machines with Windows 7/8 but with no luck. Does cable fall under warranty?
Have you tried connecting it while the phone is unlocked?
It would be stupid if thieves had access to a locked phone they don't own right?
thanks @elfogo25 . I too suspected its the cable and took it to the service center but they did not have a replacement. I still have couple of months on warranty for in-box accessories. Will visit them again.
Got the replacement cable from service center. Connected the cable to PC and viola!!!! saw the oneplus under drives..
For others having this issue, if you still have warranty for in-box accessories, log a call with the service center. Even if they say they dont have a replacement immediately, just log a request with them and they will get it in 3-4 days.
