As I've heard, the Honor 8 pro and V9 are exactly the same phones.
Because there is no international firmware for the V9, I'm wondering if it is possible after unlocking the bootloader to flash Honor 8 pro firmware?
I guess at the moment no one tried but maybe in the future.
Looking forward to hear from your experience

I was thinking on the same, but I realized that the Chinese version will get more updates and it will get the new features sooner.
I am sure that the SRK tool trick will work here too, so it should be possible to replace the ROM.
Flash V9
yes you can flash the rom
I would also need a guide, who can adjust the here or a link!

There is a firmware and instruction
Has anyone successfully flashed the rom of V9 using 8 Pro stock firmware ?
Mind to share please
Probably possible, since they have the same specs
I don't think it's possible.

it is technically possible, flashing it shouldn't hard brick so you can flash back to Chinese after if the default recovery has a hissy fit. oppo was good with this kind of thing as an example of another Chinese manufacturer.

I take back when I said it was not possible. It's possible because they are the same device. Same with Honor 7 Lite to Honor 5C, Honor 5X to Huawei GR5, Honor 6X to Huawei Gr5 2017 and a lot more. Check their pages at GSMArena. No difference except the name.

makes sense as the only difference is that the honor 8 pro has more international friendly bands such as Band 20. The next test is to see if the V9's qualcomm global modem bands can be unlocked etc making it basically an 8 pro

Hello,
I've found on my polish android forum way to debrand p8 lite without using bootloader. However it doesn't work on my phone which is branded for TIM Mobile (some italian operator).
My version is TAG-L01C212B123 - I want to debrand it and follow with official huawei releases.
I'd like to make it without unlocking bootloader so I can keep my guarantee.
Is it possible?
Thanks!

Your best bet is to unlock the bootloader by getting your unlock key from huawei and if the problems arise wherein you need to return your phone pay the small amount to DC unlocker (Google it) to lock your phone (shows locked not relocked)

Thank you for your reply.
Well first of all I managed to update to b576 without unlocking the bootloader.
And the main purpose why I couldn't do it in the first place was... not having a Huawei p8 Lite but huawei 5s enojy / gr3 / p8lite smart (TAG-01) - call it whatever you want. A little misunderstanding between me and phone seller.

Hello iam going to buy this wonderful phone.
Can I take the cheapest version DL00 and flash TL29 ROM ?
Chinese AL10 costs 50 $ more than DL00, worth it ?
i would say definitely. firmware wise, u will get the fastest and most numerous updates on the AL10 those 50 bucks are worth it!
Sent from my Huawei Mate 8 NXT-AL10
Thank you for the advice. Anybody satisfied also with DL00 ? If nobody, I'll buy the AL10 (paying these 50 $)
havent seen many users here with TL00, DL00 or CL00. most have L29, follow by AL10

I had the l09 version. Had couple updates but the support seems to be much lower than the L29 or AL10. So I decided to change my phone's OEM information to "convert" it to an L29 version. So I could update it to B320 with EMUI 4.1.
My screen broke, I replaced it. Somehow ****ed the Gyroscope and accelerometer chip while repairing the display (Dont ask me how, I guess it just died somehow)
So I went ahead and buy a DL00. And .... ****.... the software is fully chinese. You can set it up to english on the very first boot but a lot of chinese features and apps still remain on the phone. And the battery optimisation is just crap, every apps (including their services) would shut down if you close the apps. So .. no notifications. I tried everything to fix this but it just wouldn't work.
So, again, converted the oem info to be able to have my own "L29". It works flawlessly. Now running B320 EMUI 4.1 with no issues.
If you wanna save money, go ahead and buy the DL00 but trust me. If you don't know anything about rooting, tweaking sys files and unlocking bootloader just buy the AL10 or L29 to save some headache
hes correct, u can basically reprogram any phone model to a different one. but ull need to get ready for some serious tweaking
Sent from my Huawei Mate 8 NXT-AL10
hmmm.. 50$ or "serious tweaking". what a dilemma.
Anyway I want to switch to international version TL29, this seems a lot more simple from AL10 than from full chinese versions like DL00, isn't it ?

Definitely aim for the AL10 model. Better support and in some cases ive seen 2 people on DL00 with random reboot problems ive never had on my AL10, not sure if it was firmware or what, but it was really weird.
Yeah such things makes me afraid about DL00. Thanks everybody, I will choose the AL10 model.

Hello XDA,
I'll keep it short and to the point. Before buying the Axon 7 (from Amazon Italy, so probably A2017G), I have a couple of questions. I know they've been answered before, but the answers I found were old and things may have changed.
1. Can the EU model's BL be unlocked, and CM flashed?
2. Does flashing CM remove the EU model's audio limitation?
3. In your opinion - Moto Z Play or Axon 7?
Thanks for your input
Moto Z's battery is low. 2600mAh is not enough. I think you like custom roms. so don't buy Axon 7. I'm regret to buy because of there is no custom Rom. you can buy OnePlus 3 or 3T
1 - All models can be BL unlocked. If by CM you mean CyanogenMod, then I don't know about the EU (2017G) version, but you sure don't want to considering how incomplete it is right now.
2 - Last I checked all sound on CM was a mess, however you can flash mods to remove the audio output limitation the 2017G model has.
3 - Neither. If you're aiming for the price range of an A7 buy the OnePlus 3T instead.
It sounds like community development, and a stock-ish ROM matters to you, which is why I recommend the OnePlus 3T instead.
I bought an axon 7 since it seemed like zte would support indy developers. They didn't, I sold it to a friend, friend got pissed because of the lack of wifi calling and crap reception, zte doesn't honor the warranty for reception issues since they blame your carrier, had to take phone back or lose a friend. That said, watching the doublespeak from zte and their fans optimism has been hilarious
There are three models of the Axon 7.
1. A2017 - Chinese model - not bad. Haven't heard people complaining about it.
2. A2017U - North American model - I have this, I like it. CM13 still has a few bugs but once those get fixed the flood gates on custom roms will open up big time. It is a nice phone.
3. A2017G - European model - nothing but complaints. I have never heard one person on here say anything good about this model, and any possible complaint that can be made about a smartphone has been made with this smartphone by EVERYONE! AVOID THE A2017G MODEL AT ALL COSTS!
The A2017U is a good one, is 100u$s less than a Oneplus3T, Nougat is coming, battery and speed are just great.
You have the money? Go for the Oneplus3T, if not, think about the A2017U, not the European version

I was actually considering the Moto Z Play - that one has a 3500 mAh battery, and is considered to have among the best battery life. About ROMS - I'm not a flashaholic. I just need a stable, CM/AOSP based ROM (I don't use Google Services).
I can't/won't buy a Oneplus 3T. First of all, because it's insanely expensive on Amazon or locally; and also because, coming from a Oneplus X, I don't support Oneplus's practices (they abandoned the X after one update, which was a year late).

I definitely wanted the US model, but I can't buy it (U.S. Amazon doesn't ship to where I live). The 128GB/4GB Chinese model is available on AliExpress for cheaper than the normal EU model, so you're saying I should go for that?
I would say no. The Chinese model probably doesn't pick up your LTE bands in Italy. Just stay away from the A2017G model. There was a post here about getting the A2017U model shipped to Europe in the past. Don't know if it is still there though.

I actually live in Israel, and the Chinese model supports all the bands I need. That thread sounds interesting though, I'll look for it.
I have a A2017G and have nothing to complain about. You can install CM on this unit like all others U and chinese. I currently have the stock based rom from DrakenFX and the custom kernel BeastMode.
I am satisfied with that. Important for me will be the nougat update which will come to us this month.
I'm also using G model (Poland) and there's nothing wrong with it.

I must disagree, I have the A2017G and there is nothing to complain about.
I was also trying to decide between the Moto Z Play and the Axon 7. I chose the Axon 7 for the Quad HD screen (beautiful for reading or movies), the faster processor (see YouTube videos of the Antutu video tests on the Moto Z Play), and optical image stabilization. I didn't expect to care about the front-facing speakers, but they're a pleasure. Also the phone is smaller in the pocket, the Moto Z Play is huge with lots of space around the screen.
Pros for the Moto Z Play: front fingerprint sensor (the Axon 7's is very fast and saves space being on the back but I don't find it as convenient), up to 1.5x longer battery life (my "3250 mAh" battery is really 3050 mAh but I don't care because it still lasts me 24h under typical conditions), more stock-like OS, flat screen is easier to find a tempered glass screen protector.
Overall I'm very happy with the choice of the Axon 7 (rooted, lots of Xposed modules, no CM so far) coming from the OnePlus One.
As a moto x pure owner (xt1575, 2015 edition), this is my last motorola product. Since lenovo took over, the promise of steady updates is a lie. The device is all but abandoned. Supposedly android 7 will be released for it at some point but nothing definitive. As for MM updates, I believe the most current one includes the august 2016 security updates. Nothing more recent.
I think it's a crap shoot with either company. The A7 has it's 4 carrier support (albeit sprint hasn't certified it yet). Where as the moto z play is primarily a vzw phone with some lte bands of other carriers. Not sure if the Z play can be rooted/bootloader unlocked either as it's a vzw device.

If Enjoy 7 plus is included in family, yep, I sign. Although Enjoy (see last y?) 7 Plus (changxiang7) is the name for china with models TRT-ALx0 (x=0 for global model, 1 for China only). 3+32Gb is this. 4+64Gb just append an A to the model, so TRT-AL00A or TRT-AL10A
Regarding root: There is an unofficial chinese compiled TWRP; Unlock bootloader (huawei page gives you code, fastboot oem unlock code makes a factory reset, fastboot flash recovery, and voilá.)

I live in Canada. Considering ordering from the website below (giztop). It says "global firmware" in description but global version is not out yet? So I'm unsure if this is indeed global.
https://www.giztop.com/xiaomi-redmi-note-7.html/
Edit: I contacted customer service asking if it's Chinese or Global. It's Chinese with Play Store pre-installed
You can buy it in that site, it will be shipped like two days after the official release. But I recommend you to wait for the Pro version.
Be patient, wait for the pro version or wait 2 weeks after the launch
If it's shipped with a global rom and the official global rom has not been released yet, then I'd recommend not buying it. It's most likely a Vendor ROM, which looks exactly like MIUI, but won't get any updates and you'll have no idea what else has been tampered with (which you could argue you don't with any ROMs). A vendor ROM also makes it a lot more difficult to unlock bootloader and get custom rom on your phone.

It's confusing though cuz they say "All smartphones install global software, with Google Play service, and support OTA updating" under the description.

What is the expected release date for the Note 7 Pro?
I was planning on getting the Note 7 tomorrow when it's released, but was concerned about lack of Gapps and possibly English language pack so came here.

after the Chinese New Year, it looks like February 5th
The link I posted is the Chinese Rom
Any idea when the Global version will be out for the Note 7?
Heres a statement from a canadian.
DO NOT BUY RN7 IF YOU'RE PLANNING TO USE A CANADIAN CARRIER.
They simply do not support ALOT of the canadian bands unless youre ok with 3G All the time.
BTW: order it from aliexpress. they're wellknown and sell almost EVERY redmi device ex: Redmi note 5 pro
Anyone knows the realest date of the global version?

Most likely February, if you can't wait get the redmi note 6 pro or mi a2 lite.
I read somewhere that Redmi Note 7 Pro will be released 25.02.2019 ?
I suppose that we should wait two months for official release of global ROM
So the Chinese version will not have the additional bands even once flashed with a Global ROM?
Also the Chinese version will have an English language pack, but no Google Apps? So no play store etc.
Is this correct?

Just want to confirm one final thing, provided the Chinese bands work on my local network providers - if I order a Chinese version will I be able to flash it with a Global ROM once the global ROM becomes available?
I am thinking about waiting for the Redmi Note 7 Pro, however I have noticed that currently with the Redmi Note 7 which is being sold as a global version on sites such as Banggood and Gearbest the price is significantly higher than what it retails for on the official Mi.com website. (Roughly $175 on Mi.com vs $250 or more on the other sites).
So if I know that I will be able to flash the global ROM once it is released (hopefully within a week or two of the Chinese release) then I will try get a Redmi Note 7 Pro from the Mi.com chinese site and the shipping will take around 2 weeks to reach me. So by the time I receive it hopefully a global ROM will be available for me to flash it and I will then have an almost equivalent version of a global ROM (different network bands though).
Does this sound as if it would work? Am I forgetting or misunderstanding anything?
what's the difference btw this and pro version?

The Pro version has not been announced yet. But it will come with a Sony 48 MP sensor, better Snapdragon processor (maybe 675 or 710). I far as I know, that's the only things informed by people. It should be announced by the second week of February.
