lol, I don't know what exactly you mean by "****ty one" but the OTA update released today is official. I honestly can't give you a review on the battery life because I'm using the "****ty" Ninja Speed Freak v.0.4.5. but I've heard it's a tad better than froyo.

Personally, I recommend you flash this:

If you have an unlocked bootloader I wouldn't ota ****. You'll hard brick your phone. Unlocked bootloaders should flash dl'ed zip files only. I think you can flash Sbf but there's little point if you have cwm.

Just to be clear that the whole Atrix community doesn't equal AT&T customers. GB is only released as far as I know on AT&T. I am not aware of it being released on any other networks or countries yet.

from what edgan said on that thread, you need to be on an 1.8.3 with unlocked bootloader, or you need to unlock your bootloader on the leaked 2.3.4, then flash this file. someone correct me if im wrong.

i think it was just the update. i read on other forums many other people having battery problems with the leaked 2.3.4. that, and while i was on froyo my battery was perfect.

Your response was absolutely fine. Sorry, I just took slight exception to the subject line of the thread itself "Gingerbread Officially Released". This is not an AT&T sub-forum or network specific thread. I have seen evidence of other network/country users being confused why they have no update yet.
On a side-note, originally Motorola hinted the UK would get the update at the same time, but that doesn't seem to be true as of yet. However, the non-network branded version of this handset is not released until August 2nd, due to Motorola having exclusive tie-ins with Orange UK and T-mobile UK until then.
Well in trying to bring my atrix back to stock so that I could install the OTA update I messed something up and it wouldn't or couldn't get any data. No up and down arrows showing data. No browsing or anything. Everything else worked. I could't even wipe the phone without an error. I took it to ATT after removing super user and a few other things. They couldn't figure it out so they gave me a new phone.
I upgraded to 2.3.4 and I am loving it. The battery seems to last much, much longer. The camera is much better and over all I am loving it. I do want to root it but looks like I will have to wait until more folks get this authentic version for that.
learning curve
I am new to android, i come from iphone jailbreak land. Sorry, I am late to the party but I can't understand one piece of the puzzle so i can manage this myself. I am on att, 2.2.2, baseband N_01.7715p, 4.1.83, Rooted with ginger blur 4.5.
Why dont i want to update my baseband with the OTA? I have read much about downgrading with RSD and so on, but because i am arriving at halftime, no one really explains why anymore. Just need a little help with the learning curve, Thanks

So they're leaving us with a problematic update / hboot and the buggy-5.0.2 ehh?
Good job HTC. Changing brand for my next unit if it is their decision
It;s not the latest update that i want from them, but at least please fix all the problem before leaving it for good.
We dont need more then one thread about this.
even if they did give 5.1 it would still be buggy,
hey guys shifty here w a lil bit of an update i got root sort of going a couple of nights ago it was only temporary (sadly) otherwise id have screen shots for you my devs that are helpin me are taking a closer look as for if it will work for you i have no idea if your on SU3TL-38 (OTA NOT ROOTED PREIMG) id suggest going here http://motofirmware.center/files/category/23-droid-turbo/
then find the SU3TL-39 update and side load it if you do not know what side loading is ill explain it if you already know then skip this ok so after downloading the VRZ_XT1254_SU3TL-39_39_CFC.xml.zip (yes thats actually the name of it as i have the file) you plug your phone in via USB now you will take this zip and move into a file location i usually made it simple like DICM or something then boot your turbo into recovery power + vol down to get into the bootloader use volume buttons till you see recovery select that now youll see a dead andy and text that says no command i usually got passed that by pressing vol down then power for a few seconds then click apply update from SD then go to your folder w the .zip then update simple as that...
Now shifty why update to SU3TL-39? well thats the firmware im working on my turbo never had SU3TL-38 and i cant downgrade so i cant give you my word it would work and if your on SU4TL-44 it will not work i can give you my word on this so like i said temp root was successful i will not release root until i get perma root thanks for the support guys i know theres tuts for side loading but i thought id add it just incase someone whos lower than SU4TL-44 and not n my firmware can get there for root now everyone should know how to check there build number if you dont i dont think you should be rooting xD but yes shifty is on this guys i might work on SU4TL-44 later on so DONT WORRY updated users thats all for now
Cool man. You'll make a lot of people happy with this. Just news someone else is working on it is good news.
Yea man just people to will work on it but all that matters is root on the device I just hope I can get my exploit out and that people try it and give me feedback

Nope, and all of our devices updated automatically
My wife's is ZV3, not sure how much risk she's willing to take on her DD or if it even helps. I told her to cancel any updates since she got it in mid-July may in case something came up that was patched in newer firmwares.
If anybody has a ZV4 update that can be applied we might be able to help. Or are all of the updates downloaded and stored forever until you actually install them?

I'm not well versed in this realm of rooting, but I've rooted my V20 (H918) and I'd like to update to the latest version possible and not lose root. I think it involves using some kdz file or something and flashing that, is that right? Let me know, thank you.
Wrong, you have to use this @runningnak3d tutorial to go back to root...but so far, even if you are on H91010T, you can roll back and root. ARB has not yet been implemented on this phone, so you're good to use any rooting method you see fit in this forum. Enjoy!

I don't know what version of H918 you're on now, but if I'm not mistaken 10k is the last one that you can still mess up and still get root back by downgrading to an earlier version, root and then upgrade. any version after 10k will increment ARB to 1 whereby you will not be able to get root if you lose it. that said, the latest version out now is 10s and if you have root then you should also have TWRP. here's my guide for updating to the latest versions while keep root https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/development/rom-h91810q-stock-rom-twrp-flashable-zip-t3681312. looking at this now, I haven't posted the 10s update file, which I will do now... keep in mind that if you update to 10s that if you lose TWRP you'll be fscked and stuck without root, which at this point could be permanently.
EDIT: 10s is a go! original post updated with link. also removing the older versions from Google Drive to free up space... if they're still needed, PM

Hey, I followed the instructions per your thread and successfully installed 10s and kept root! The bad news is that I did a factory reset immediately after and now it keeps bootlooping into TWRP. Any idea how to fix this? Sadly I didn't make a backup because my microsd card was too small and I didn't have the patience to wait til tomorrow and go out and buy one, really hope I didn't kick myself in the ass and brick my phone. :crying:
Edit:
I was able to find a fix by following these instructions:
"I had this happen to me after installing TWRP for the first time. It would keep rebooting to TWRP. This was after making sure I flashed SuperSU as well. Eventually in a moment of "might as well see what will happen" I rebooted then held down the power button and volume down. Got to the option if I wanted to factory reset my phone which I did which booted into TWRP. Rebooted to system from there which got me out of the TWRP Bootloop."
I also set my phone up again and can confirm that 10s is still good with root! Thanks for the guide and work, man. Much appreciated!
