I have a rooted g4 plus with stock nougat(and elementalx kernel).
I always turn adaptive brightness off. But after every boot it turns on. Does anyone else experience the same thing? If so, is it because of the stock rom or the kernel? Does anyone know how to fix this? I tried to find a fix but couldn't find any thread mentioning any issues about adaptive brightness.

I have a totally stock GT-i9500 since the begining. since the last OTA update I am experiencing some issues as follows:
The wifi connection keeps dropping
while the auto brightness is enabled and the brightness minimum level is set under -3, when at minimum brightness the brightness keeps fluctuating. This does not happen if I manually drop the screen brightness to the lowest while auto brightness is deactivated.
Battery drains quicker than before
the current Build No JSS15J.I9500XXUEMJ8
Baseband I9500XXUEMJ8
any help would be appreciated

did you try factory rest after doing OTA update,it solves the problem most of the time
as for wifi disconnecting, there already added many threads troubleshooting the problem(like this one- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2272519)
try searching around a bit, maybe you will find something..
So my adaptive brightness keeps turning off on its own. I have no idea why. Anyone having this issue? Would love a fix for it.
I fixed it, it seemed to be a problem with my avast anti virus security and the night mode. Turned off night mode and it works fine now.
Hi Xda, I've got a lg g2, with stock rom, rooted.
Problem is that if I increase the brightness more than 40%, the display light goes off. I've tried factory reset but no success.
Hello! I'm on Android 9. I want to use Lux because Adaptive Brightness sucks on the Mi A1 but the latter won't stay turned off. if I disable it, it gets enabled automatically after some time, it could be 10 minutes, 30 minutes or 3 hours, no more than that. i tried disabling Adaptive battery as well thinking that some other internal process could be setting it on as well. I uninstalled Lux just in case it was lux enabling it by mistake. I don't have many apps, I keep it clean. I'm yet to do the testing of running the phone in debug mode for a couple of hours to see if it's a third-party app or not, but even if it was, I can't think of any app that could be doing that.
Any suggestions? Please help me, I love my phone but my brightness sucks with Adaptive method, it goes pitch black all the time, I hate it.
Thanks a lot!
Good night friends.
The latest update Lineage OS 17.1-20200811the Adaptive brightness is not working.
On mine the adaptive brightness works correctly (LOS 17.1 - 20200811)
On mine too.
Taking advantage of the topic, the update:
lineage-17.1-20201117-nightly-scorpio-signed
It is giving this same problem of adaptive brightness.
Not working.
