Screen burn-in - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am using a note 4 910c
It has screen burn-in and the keyboard and messaging app image constantly shows in the background most prominently when against whitish background.
I have used softwares which claim to remove these by running green blue red n white screens in full brightness for atleast 20 hours in 2 to 3 days but No improvement whatsoever .
Any other solution? or if i might wanna use these softwares more ?

You could try using negative colours, under accessibility menu. You will need to replicate the burnt image.
No guarantees it will work 100%, but anything with excessive sot is guaranteed to be detrimental to the display regardless.

Try installing and running the Screen Burn-In Tool for a couple of hours on your device. It might help.

Display Brightness problem with my Galaxy S

Display Brightness problem with my Galaxy S
Hi I have bit of a problem with my galaxy S' display. The display uses a ton of power (90% +, going down 1% every 2-3 minutes with display on) as per the OS usage data. I have not experienced brightness settings / power saving mode as having any effect in terms of extending my battery life.
Now here's why I think there might be something wrong with my phone. I know two other people that also have a Galaxy S. We come together often last time I noticed their displays are MUCH MUCH brighter. I took all three phones on the table and noticed that regardless of the brightness level I set on all three phones, whether it be the minimum brightness setting or full brightness (all 3 phones SAME settings of course) mine is always the darkest. Also their phones display 40-60 % from the total power used by their display's rather than mine always showing 90%+.
I tried a battery recalibration etc this doesn't do anything in my view. After trying some great suggestion on this forum, I alway set the display to its lowest brightness setting, still no difference.
One of those other phones is running the same S/W as mine (doc's rom JPA) the other is still on JM2, so I can definitely exclude the firmware version as a cause.
Any thoughts suggestions as to how to solve this? Or might I just as well stop bother with that and have Samsung exchange the phone's display?
I have the same problem.. Did you find a solution?

Hi, No unfortunately I didn't. It is kinda strange I'm not getting any response on this thread. If you and I are having the same issue, I find it hard to believe we'd be the only ones!
There is a "smart management" option under settings (saves battery). This seems to change contrast etc when enabled and makes screen dimmer. I have to SGSs and I can confirm that, Check it and tell me whether it worked.
nb: this option will make a full white screen dimmer than if you have half white and half black (the white will be brighter in the second case - probably to improve contrast).
Hmm.. this is what I did.. I placed the brightness slider to the left and switched on the automatic brightness control. Now battery use does not show 50% or more in average use, but seems normal, like it was before froyo
Smart Management is off

Display is draining battery

Hi Guys,
Since I have BroodRomRC2 with Cranium v6 Kernel my battery stats are weird. It sais my display is using a lot of battery, but I have set the lowest brightness there is. I already tried to fix it by resetting Battery Stats in Recovery... What can I do?
Sent from my GT-I9001 using xda premium
It's normal having display usage around 50%, the only way to make it last longer is displaying dark images, since super amoled screens waste more battery with bright images than dark ones, 'cause we have not retroillumination but each pixel is emitting his own light. Dark/Black backgrounds, dark themed apps etc improve battery time.
Mine with heavy use is around 40%. Dark background, black themed GOsms, black gReader, and so on..
BTW, wrong section
One thing i have realised since i have switched off automatic brightness and set screen to lowest brightness. Androids own browser is using more brightness than other programs. That is one of the reasons i have started to use other browsers.

Press the menu u'll see brightness setting. Change it. The default browser is the best
If your screen is the biggest consumer of energy it means you have a very batterysaving rom be happy with it !
Anybody else got battery drain while listening to music? (mediaserver drains about 40% when only music is on)

[Q]Display using disprportionate amount of battery

The attached images should speak for themselves. My brightness settings are at their lowest, at least the one I could find is. But still the consumption is around 80%. I lost half of my battery in three hours.
This problem started after I flashed to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757272
I fear there is some hidden setting or something to fix this, as the screen should be a bit darker, but i have failed to find anything useful.
Edit: Got an app called "RootDim" and used it to set brightness to 1 but the screen still remains way too bright.

[Q] S5 battery problems & more

So I got this s5 a few days ago from my friend...moment I got it I noticed that it overheats a lot,for example 5 minutes of browsing and the cpu temp would go up to 70 degrees celsiu, also the screen got really hot.Yesterday I also noticed that the screen has a burn in,which is common for amoled, but then I thought that maybe battery is causing all my problems. Tried to charge it with original sammy 3.0 charger,it goes to 100% but never shows the green led and batt full sign. When I restart the phone batt goes to like 95-94%. So what do you people think?

How to Fix Bad Galaxy S5 Battery Life:
1. Find Apps Eating Up Your Battery
2. Disable Unnecessary Services
3. Restart the Samsung Galaxy S5
If you start noticing weird battery drain and or your device starts heating up, you should try performing a reset to see if that returns things to normal. Most of you know how to restart the Galaxy S5 but we’ll remind you anyway. Hold down the power button, confirm that you want to turn it off, and then hold the power button down to turn it back on.
4. Start Using a Black Wallpaper
There are tons of them out there. After you’ve downloaded one, go to Settings -> Wallpaper -> Home and Lock Screens -> More Images -> set your black Galaxy S5 wallpaper.
5. Start Using the Device’s Built-in Features
You’ll also want to start using the Galaxy S5’s built-in battery saving features. Power Saving Mode is a good place to start, and Ultra Power Saving mode is an even better option when you need the Galaxy S5 battery to last longer than normal.
These features allow you to block background data and turn on grayscale mode which can help to limit the amount of juice being sucked up. You can also slow down the processor, reduce screen performance, turn off the lights on the buttons, and turn off GPS to save battery life.
We also recommend getting familiar with the the brightness slider. The screen can suck up a ton of battery life so you’ll want to monitor the brightness of the screen if you’re starting to notice bad Galaxy S5 battery life.
6. Replace Your Launcher
If none of these fixes work, there are three other drastic solutions to try. The first is to replace the TouchWiz launcher on the Galaxy S5. The TouchWiz launcher has been known to hinder performance and it can be replaced. There are tons of different launches to choose from though the Nova Launcher is one of Android’s most popular choices.
7. Downgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat
If that doesn’t work, you could try downgrading to Android 4.4 KitKat. A Verizon Galaxy S5 user recently put together a step-by-step process on how to move back from Android 5.0 Lollipop and those interested can find the instructions here. This isn’t guaranteed to fix your issues but it’s worth a shot if you don’t want to wipe the device or if none of these fixes have an impact.
FIXING GREEN LED LIGHT
Go Settings -> Display -> LED indicator -> Charging has to be checked.
You can also try factory reset. This will fix all kind of bugs.
LED light is showing while charging...but only red LED,it never shows the green light even though the batt is full...this is just basic stuff that you told me...but anyway thanks.

"Battery Saver" RED and Ugly top Bar ??

its my second day using a xiaomi mi a1 .
and one of the things i just find ridiculous is the RED top bar that appears when you turn "Battery Saver" ON.
that red top bar will cause screen burn after a year or more of use. Plus it is not a nice thing to see. I wonder why the hell they designed something like that because it is absolutly stupid.
Does anyone know how to change the color of the bar after battery saver is turned on?
or a way to not use battery saver and use a different app that will do the same purpose?

The red bar is standard on android, it will been removed on android p.
To turn the bar off, you must install xposed and the module gravitybox [O]

1. you cant get screen burn in with lcds only with amoleds. There is something called image retention when the liquid crystals cant relax into their initial state so there is a temporary(!) ghost image visible. That would happen with either blue or white light. Red is the last color it could happen with. (not enough energy in that wavelength range). Also as mentioned already, standard stock android thing.
2. You can mostly set the settings yourself like disabling sync, restricting background app access and so forth. You could probably automate most of it with using tasker.
