I am considering buying the 4G, international version of the S4 and have two question about it for owners.
1) Is there a way of telling by looking at the device, its box, or an option within the settings which market/region the phone was intended to be sold in? I've been assured by a seller than it is a version for my region (I'm concerned about warranty), but want to make certain upon receipt that it isn't an Asian version.
2) When the S4 Google Edition is released will it be possible to flash the software for that device straight onto the 4G, international S4 and use it without Touchwiz?
1. look for galaxy csc changer, it will give you info.

1. So you're saying that the app will display the customer service code, which will help me to work out what region the phone was intended for.
2. Was my second question a stupid one?
1. Yep, some more detail on CSC codes here : http://droidviews.com/2012/how-to-change-csc-in-samsung-galaxy-phones/

Thanks very much for your quick reply. So, if I was to buy a sim free version of the phone from Amazon, I could edit the CSC code to match that of a particular carrier in my country and download their firmware for the phone? For example if they released an update before the unlocked version of the phone received the update?

Of course no, there are no stupid questions (at most). Simply - I was unable to answer, sorry.

Just bought this model, I believe its the Chinese version with Snapdragon 820. My question is would I be able to try a different firmware, obviously a Snapdragon 820 version like the G935 (USA)?
Have you installed Google Play in the G9350?

Does it have FM Radio? I mean any version of S7/S7 Edge has FM Radio or not?
Thanks
I hope for your sake you purchase a Hong Kong G9350 (like mine) and not a Chinese one. Chinese one does not have Play store or any other Google services for that matter.

The G9350 has google play pre-installed already. No FM radio. Not sure what flashing that AP will do.

The Chinese variant of the SM-G9350 does not have Google play pre-installed. The Hong Kong variant however, does. If you get the Chinese version, you would have the flash the factory image of the Hong Kong variant to get Google Play.

if you have the CN Version you will have to install the whole firmware
Hi,
I've also bought a Galaxy S7 Edge in Hong Kong, Model version is SM-G9350 and runs Snapdragon 820 CPU, but it is not clear to me if I can flash custom firmware on it. Is there something else I need to check?
When I press Power+Home+Vol Up, I'm able to access a Recovery Mode that says something like : MMD29M.G9350ZHU2APD1 . Does this mean I can install a or any ROM on my phone? If uncertain, is there any risk to do so if I try or will it just fail (without bricking the phone)?
Thanks for your feedback.
Aurora rom 3.0
I'm running this rom on g9350 hong kong variant. I'm in Canada on Rogers and it's working beautiful.
It has a bunch of custom features, (some are locked in Mandarin) but completely usable.
http://bbs.gfan.com/android-8320368-1-1.html
Has odin file which flashes a perfectly working TWRP, or zip for recovery flashing.
It seems to be the only custom rom in existence for this model right now.
Do USA roms work?
Hey, anyone know if using a USA firmware on a G9350 works? I bought it thinking it was an Exynos, but apparently I was wrong, I'd rather have my home carrier instead (T-Mobile).
Hey guys,
I just bought one of the x cams and I was thinking if there would be root or xposed or even roms for this device anytime sooner?
Thnaks,
Charlie
BTW: Has anyone unlocked the bootloader?
ya i keep checking for x power, x cam and x style but no info yet that I have been able to find the full kernel source is out there for the x power though I may just build one custom and see if it will take once I can get the actual firmware to repair with just in case basically if that will work then it may work for the other X models too.
I think, that the major difficulty is to make the dual camera work fine.
I have a Lg X Cam and the rom is very stable. But if anybody start a custom rom i will liked.
Thanks,

Don't ever waste your time, the kingroot thing is bull****.
Kingroot, Shuame and other Chinese root/rom flashing tool has been telling lie about root & flashing for long, they just want to cheat you into installing their stupid software, in some case you may even brick your device because of these software.

Hi devs, i like to ask some questions about the model Asus X00DDA:
1. Im a bit confused in this model, it has this X00DDA but when i search it in google, it shows the model ZC**** something like that. Can someone would lighten this up.
2. Since idk what are the specs, even in the box it is not detailed, for example idk what kindof chipset this device has because that is required for developing for this model.
3. I know that this is a dumb question but is this thing's bootloader is unlockable, if YES then we'll go but if it's a NO then i guess i stick with a stock Nougat instead.
Thanks, i hope someone will reply
Each device has two model numbers.
Specs: http://gsmarena.com/asus_zenfone_3_max_zc553kl-8425.php
And the bootloader is not unlockable.

Answers:
1) There are 2 model numbers for a device (eg: ZC553KL= X00DDA)
2) Snapdragon 430
3) The bootloader is not unlockable ( You can request ASUS to release Unlock Bootloader Tool app on ZenTalk)
