Hello chaps.
Anyone have any idea how to clear this?
I have tried, uninstall the 2 software update APK, clear data on settings, tried a cache clear in recovery.
But still it remains!!!
Ignore, i have solved it
Open applications, show system apps, find "badgeprovider" and force stop/clear data > reset phone.

When I try to install anything from the market I'm getting this error in DDMS
Code:

Any ideas?

uninstall updates from the market application (in
settings->manage applications)

Click to collapse
tried that and tried wifi, clear cache, etc and nothing has fixed it
Uninstalling updates and clearing caches in manage application fixed my market after getting FCs whenever I tried downloading or uninstalling apps.
I can't figure out how to reset an app's data on the nook touch. On a standard android device, going to Manage Applications and selecting any app gives you the optiosn for clearing defaults, cache, and clearing data. Clearing the data is essentially the same as uninstalling the app and reinstalling it fresh.
On the nook simple touch, there is no option for clearing the app data. When you go to the app, there are options for uninstalling, clearing cache, clearing defaults, and force stopping, but it is as though B&N specifically removed the ability to clear out the data.
Does anyone know of a way to clear out the data manually? It would be nice to be able to do it on the nook itself, but I'm fine with adb.
In the end, I could always uninstall and reinstall, but that is a hassle, and I would have to back up the apk beforehand or re-download it.
You need NookColorTools for that.
I might be wrong tho as I don't currently have it installed
I do have the NookColorTools app installed. That's how I got to the manage applications menu in the first place. But the particular option for resetting the data is missing. Other than that, the screen looks exactly the same as a standard android screen for managing an app.
Could it be missing because nook touch is running android 2.1 and that feature was added on 2.2? I only have 2.2 and 2.3 with which to compare.
Ah oh well, I take that back then
The app data can be found in /data/data so you can accomplish what you want quite easily with adb.
Thanks, I figured it had to be something simple like a directory or a file.
I could probably clear out the directory using es file explorer; no need to involve the desktop.
Open root explorer. Go to /data/dalvik cache. Select all files in the folder and delete them. Reboot immediately. Stuff will get very unstable till you do.
This will re optimize the system after all the changes you have been making.

Similar to this, is thr a way to clear cache partition without recovery mode?
What is the purpose of doing this? Will this clear my settings or default programs?
Adversely, I have one default program I would like to clear but it does not show up on the default app list... can I clear this one manually? Namely I want to switch back to using Svoice vs Google Voice and no matter what i do I can switch it back. Turning on Svoice under settings does nothing.
Thanks for the great info
Thanks for the helpful tidbit.
question here
if i clear my dalvik cache( with not the intentions to install new rom...just cleaning junks) will my personal data be saved?
why just don't use one of app : https://play.google.com/store/searc...sp=CAFiDQoLY2xlYXIgY2FjaGV6AhgAigECCAE=&hl=en
So cache partition stores all these settings which can be deleted from settings->apps? or it's maybe something like temp in Windows?
Whether will be deleted apps settings after wiping cache partition?
edit. I found.
None settings deleted. It just support's faster lauching of most used apps. After wiping, few lauching of the app restores previous condition of executing. May fix errors during opening some app, due to some overloads of this memory.
Because dalvik cache stores fragments of compiled code of an installed apps, and can be just deleted for restore some performance of system (it is restored after reboot).
Especially these wiping these two - dalvik and partition cache, is sometimes practised after installing lots of apps, to improve performance, maybe some errors.
Correct me if something's wrong.
(Link2SD) app is Play Store
Download this App from Store.
Hello all,
I just installed Titanium Backup because I wanted to get rid of a few bloat applications.
I removed all that I wanted which were listed on a few "safe to remove" threads, mainly some Google applications, and Samsung applications.
Now I'm getting a pop up saying "Unfortunately, Package Access Helper has stopped."
As far as I know, I didn't uninstall anything important, just some bloatware apps.
I have tried clearing the cache for it, rebooting to recovery and deleting cache there, along with dalvik cache, to no avail.
Does it matter what version of 4.4 I have, can I reinstall any version of it and should that fix it?
I can still install and uninstall apps, but the popup is just annoying.
If I can just reinstall, could anyone provide a "working" version?
Thanks,
Chris.
Hi,
since android pie first update, i cannot see notifications about google play store when i'm updating apps(for example).
What can be done?
before hard reset,
thanks.
Hi,
i found a solution that worked for me and can work for anyone which is facing this issue:
1) Settings-> app & notification->see all apps->3 dot at top & choose show system-> android setup-> clear cache and data
2) Go back-> scroll down to download manager app-> turn off all the setting and enable it again
RESTART NOW
3) Go to app and notification-> select Google play Store-> clear cache and data
Now start downloading any app.
