Jiayu S3 erased nvram!! Backup needed!! - JiaYu S3 Questions & Answers

Hello everyone,
While I was doing a firmware update in my Jiayu S3 (2GB no NFC), I accidentally erased the NVRAM.
Would be so kind of sending me a copy of the image of the nvram to my email, in order to flash it again using TWRP or MediaTek SP Flash Tool, then modify both IMEIs with those printed in my Jiayu original box, and get my phone repaired?
Thank you very much in advance.

I have downloaded RC5_S3_16GB.zip, but this file does not include nvram partition, and inside scatter file you can read:
- partition_index: SYS3
partition_name: nvram
file_name: NONE
is_download: false
There is not file for the nvram partition, so this is not valid for me.
I still need a nvram backup!!

Take a look here:
Click

Same unswer, not valid :'(

Hello 1testi:
Your answer is the same than Pirex69!!

Got it!!!
I finally got it!!
I leave here a copy of NVRAM and other important areas, for restoration with TWRP (v3 or higher recommended), in case someone else needs it in the future.
Once the NVRAM is restored and the phone working ok, the APP Chamelephon can be used in a rooted ROM to change the imeis to their originals.

Yes, the Bootloader (pink screen) default file system is FAT32.
In case you lost the bootloader contents, just create a folder called "image" and copy the following files to that:
EMMCBOOT - http://www.mediafire.com/?lb6ifvgk72iru4a
AMSS.MBN - http://www.mediafire.com/?d6r45q6p5gew59v
Recovery.img - http://www.mediafire.com/?57njygc8oianjac

Hello Katu!
Thanks for the answer yesterday!
Formatted in FAT32, but I'm not sure what the size of the allocation unit.
Can you help me ... again??

It is required, but in that folder the stock Rom usually backs-up critical stuff... don't delete it or anything!
If you don't have that folder, it's not a tragedy, because a fresh install of a stock Rom will create that folder for you.

Yeah, cust_data is the one I was referring at. You'll notice that inside that folder there is another folder with the initial letters from each Stock Rom (for example my is "ee", which stands for Estonia Elisa).

I think the stock Rom will create that if I have de /cust phone folder. It's this folder I must'nt delete.
But now I'm not a stock Rom, I have 3 Oxygen versions, a MIUI and a CM7 backups. I restore one of them wen I want . If I want I can delete /cust and no problems is'n it?

Do not delete that folder! I wouldn't touch that just for fun...Leave it there, it won't affect your Roms in anyway.
The fact that you can restore Oxygen doesn't have anything with that folder. Your backups for Oxygen etc are on the SD card.
I personally think that some relevant info used by all Roms is actually located there, so I wouldn't delete that folder just for fun.

Sir, I Need a Internal Image files(From PINK SCREEN) If you have rom used base B526, please upload it sir, i very need that all files, bcoz with old amss from b526 my X5 can be boot normally, can be shutdown normally. Now i'm using OLD (if it corrects, i see in the thread it's image files from B160, i think that's not compatible with B526 Image) before i do update from external sd card, it was a word "Unpacking blablabla" but after changing the amss and the other, it's looks like this http://www.7ayak.com/up/uploads/13425105111.jpg
so please help me sir, without all of you, my x5 can't be turned on like a normal x5, just reboot, reboot, and reboot every 1-3 minutes

When i install a stock partition, never successfull. hmm, after i click emmc unlock boot for my friend l7 , my phone turns like that sir . vie my thread before for details . i have go to huawei centre, but they ask me to pay Rp.2.000.000 for changing the engine inside (WTF! Just need to know something Blefish. In your mega drive, under Cust Partition, there are two files: hw-cust_data.zip and elisa-cust_data.zip. What are these files for?
I think they are both for custom partitioning the data, and none of them return you to stock partition. I think what the OP has done is accidentally flash one of them, and then flash the second one as well. Which has caused his partitions to be messed up.
But, please kindly confirm what these files are for?
Thanks.
Blefish, i've downloaded B526 Image files from your mega, but i think its not correct amss.mbn for B526, it size same as i downloaded before (23,5mb) before i replacing the amss, my amss original size upper than 23mb and my phone never get reboot automatically

Sir, i think my phone always get auto reboot its not causing by the partition. first time i got the problem in my other thread is my x5 working like normal but my x5 can;t detect a simcard, and now it can (i'm not fixing it, just maybe it has fixed by itself ) . but my stupid i do change the amss.mbn , before i got amss.mbn size is more than 23,5mb sir
So, the problem may causing my phone auto reboot is need to change the correct amss from the base B526
If someone can't upload the amss, i need to unpack update.app based on B526 and find the amss.mbn . but i don't know how to

Under cust/image, there is also cust_data folder. This is not really used in the 2.3 I believe, but it contains some carrier specific bits to Android. Not really necessary though.

The B528, B526 all use the B522 amss if I am not mistaken, so there is no difference.

EFS empty but good Imei

Hello,
I am a bit anxious about my phone. It works well under omega 3.1 but I was checking my saves and I foud that:
1) My EFS folder is empty
2) I have two efs backup files but they seem rather small (35k each) ans they are dated 1970 I am pretty sure they are empty
3) my IMEI is correct when I go into about phone (But does not appear when I dial *#06#
Is there something wrong ?
The Imei seems good but as the efs folder is empty it should not...
Any idea ?

I am not sure how to do it with terminal emulator.
After flashing TWRP recovery and while the phone was brand new I made a full backup of the phone and inside there is a efs backup wich is 35k
Also I made another backup made with twrp recovery and it is 35 k again for the efs.ext4.win
Is that a normal size ?

download attached file manager, install it. open it, go to the settings of file manager, check "root explorer" (grant permission) and check "mount system folder". now see efs folder.

Doesn't matter it is one and the same thing, it' only an extension. What you have got is actually a RAW dump of the nvram partition. You can either name the raw dump file as .bin or .img or anything else. The extension naming is only for satisfying some tools as they either look for .bin file or .img file. So just go ahead and follow the procedure.
Thanks

Edit by help of notepad++,Go to scatter file n edit by finding nvram data, change is_download to true n change the file and bin name as same as nvram data which u have,I hope it helps

Hey bro , problem solved?
You can use the TWRP to flash the nvram.img. Go to the folder where the file is saved, there you can see an option in the bottom right corner "image file" select it and flash the image as nvram partition

SPFlash tool can't Flash partitions other than the default listed ones directly. In the scatter file you can enble other partitions but it will not work. It will always give error 6045. Two flash other partitions using SPFlash tool, you will need to enter Advanced write mode. Here is how you can do it. But first revert to original scatter file.
Steps:-
1. Press CTRL + ALT + V to enable advanced write mode.
2. Open the advanced write mode (there will be an extra menu item under either option or main window menu.
Once you click that item, an extra tab will be added (write memory)
3. Go to newly added tab, select the partition you want to flash. Enter the starting address of the partition (get it from scatter file) you want to flash. Press start button. If you have correct drivers, the procedure should start within 10-15 seconds. Wait for the process to finish (you should see an ok dialog)
4. Disconnect and restart the phone. The first start may take slightly longer.
If the partition flashing file itself is corrupt, your phone may enter boot loop or stuck at the screen, so do backup your stuff
Hope it works for you
Thanks.
