2) Go to system/emui/base/xml and open up the hw_easywakeupmotion_config.xml in your favorite text editor. Find the line that says <EasyWakeupMotion name="Double_Touch" support="1" value="0" flag="0" keycode="131" /> and change the value=0 to value=1 then save your changes.
3) Restart your phone
4) Go into Settings/Smart Assistance/Motion Control and at the bottom you will now see Double Touch. Turn it on.
5) Restart your phone and you will have Double Tap to Wake enabled and working.

Yes. Did that. Enabled the settings at Smart Assistance. Still same
Not working for me either on L29C636B58. I'm sure the files were successfully edited, I checked. Double Tap to Sleep works but I cannot Double Tap to Wake.
Same here. 2 tap sleep works, but wake does not.

OP, did you test by self? Can you make a video?
P.s. I tried two months ago on L29C432B126, got working 2tap to sleep, but not working 2tap to wake. Then I calmed down until anyone else will do something new...

i will try and make a video later tonight. It works fine on my phone. I assume the ones that it is not working on are not the US model. I would think that it would work on all models, but apparently not.

Oh. It would be great. Maybe it works only on new firmware version. Someone requested feature and Huawei did it for US localisation.

For C432 it might be on B180, I'm on B173 and it's not working here.
Edit: I'm actually on B176 xD
Doesn't work!! Don't waste your time to root just for this until OP shows how to get this DT2W to work.
I have the exact same model and build as OP and I rooted my phone for this because I really want the DT2W. I even tried to toggle the "Double Tap" to off, reboot and toggle it back on, reboot - Still no dice. Like others, with the "Double Tap" toggled on, I can get the DT2S (sleep) to work BUT NOT the DT2W (wake)

ok i will try and do a video in a few minutes. if you are not on the US version check to see if you have the easy wakeup in data/cust folder. if you have the hw_easywakeupmotion_config.xml file in there, change it in there as well.

What in the world??!! I don't understand this... I see that it is working and very excited. However, I don't understand why it is not working for me as I am using the exact same model/build as you. I triple checked my edits/settings too.
Does the root method used matter? I used SuperSU (instead of SuperRoot)

Here's a new feature on the Moto G, which works like Touchless control. Google added this on all Android devices.
How to activate:
1) Open the Google Now app
2) Tap the mic. and say "Okay Google everywhere"
3) Now go to the menu button (3 dots at the bottom) and tap it.
4) Go to "Voice"
5) You'll see "Okay Google Detection".
6) Check the first 2
7) Done!
Now, on any screen, say "Ok Google". It also works when screen is off, but only while charging.
Yeah it's not actually as useful as you might think and your a little late to the party.

It was being rolled out by region, I guess still is. Flashing XT1032 US Retail made it work out of the box. Maybe set TTS voice as one of the US options.

Works from the lock screen as long as the phone is charging. Google removed a lot of functionality over the last 3 months. Voice control was removed from Google Music Player but still works on Nexus devices.

Thank you OP! Some of us are new to Android and appreciate the tip
Another tip for enabling this feature: (**Root Required**)
Firstly install UnleashTheGoogle.apk.
Once installed, grant it root permissions, and kill the Google Search app in the settings (Force close). Then you should see some options in the Google Now settings. The IDs to change in the "Config Flags" menu are 199 and 202. Change them to ON. Also, check that the 223 is ON too.

Steps to enable multi-user ui-
Some variants of the G4 did not include multi-users out of the box. So to counter that I have put this little guide together for you.
To do this really all you have to do is add these two lines to the buildprop save and reboot.
You might need a build prop editing app or a different root browser. Root explorer is known not to save edits on the G4.
fw.show_multiuserui=1
fw.max_users=5
If you want to have the option in settings you'll need to add the two properties AND flash the attached zip..
The zip below is currently for Tmo only. If you want this option on another variant, I'll need your framework-res and lge-res apks.
Uhm, I wonder whats wrong, but on my H815 I have the multiuser when I pull down the statusbar and tap on the mu icon on the top right. Works normal like it should on lollipop.
Seems the G4 has this as default and doesn't need any changing. But what I found is, that only 2 users are allowed. Thats something, we need to change when root is here.
MOD EDIT: Dropbox image links don't work.

Yea, I was going to rpely and say that. Also from memory, there's options for it in the Settings. I sent mine back due to screen issues, so I don't have it in front of me.
But OP you don;t need any hacks to get it working. it works out of the box.

For the H811 it does not come enabled.
It's disabled on/by Verizon too.
Sorry than, seems we have a real interesting story about the G4 so far that every version has its own set of features enabled or disabled. The H815 o2 Germany carrier and some other H815 variants seems to have the MU function enabled by default for 2 users. Wonder if there is a G4 with more than 2 users enabled. And if the carriers can disable it too, well, funny -.-

Haven't really played with it on the G3 yet(Tmo left it off on LP update too), but it only showed two users as well from what I remember. Even though it says max 5 it might only allow for two on Lg.. I did notice on my Gpad that it has different user settings than on my G3. This might be because Lg's 5.0.1(G3) lollipop is a lot different than their 5.0.2(Gpad) and 5.1.1 (G4)
Edit: On the G3 it lets me set up 5 users..
Giving this a bump now that I can confirm it working in my 811!
I'm also on Tmo's G4 and it is disabled. I'm going to root today, when I get off work, to enable it.

It's got sensitivity settings in app that need to be adjusted and has an option to click for extra in pocket turn on protection which I never even needed until I started wearing mid leg pocketed pants but my humble opinion is you weren't setting it up correctly in app because at first I wasn't but I respect the fact you used it and didn't like it. I just don't have those issues you mentioned. Oh well just a thought. Good luck.

Yes use shortcut master lite to create the new profiles.
So should all users of S8+ Sprint version get the OTA, or some of us still need to wait. Cause I checked today, and it says I am on latest version of software (i.e 7)?
