help with unlock , twrp , root - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

i am about to buy an Axon7 and after reading sooo much and being new to ZTE (new terms and what not) Currently on htc m8 for the past 2+ years.
am a bit confused on unlocking bootloader , installing twrp and gaining root., ie. "dont unlock till take update" , "if on v.Bxx cant install twrp till …".
anyways ; can anyone point me to a more or less definitive guide , least risky of course ; on unlocking , twrp and root.
my Axon7 will be sim unlocked and on att.
any suggestions/links/help would be greatly appreciated.:high5:
"err on the side of kindness"

One of your best choice is using @bkores tool
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/tool-axon7toolkit-t3573108
Another is long way ,by rolling back to MM B20 then unlock and update / jump from MM to N 7.1.1 using my TWRP Flashable Zips.

Root xperia x compact

Guys,
A couple of days ago I bought a new Sony xperia x compact (MM 6.0.1). To get rid of al those bloatware, I wanted to root the device first before using it.
Now I've tried a couple of root apps (by apk as well as by computer), like kingoroot and wondershare etc, but none of them rooted my device...
Before desperately trying all of them, is there anyone who rooted his Sony xperia x compact (F5321)?? And do you have a tutorial or small explanation how you fixed it?
Kind regards!
Henk from Holland
Hi!
Check thise out;

Thanks for your quick answer!
It sounds complicated and I'm not experienced in flashing bootloaders... And I'm wondering if that's really necesarry. I just want to remove some preinstalled apps. I don't want to flash a custom ROM.

Yes, in order to root the device you must unlock the bootloader (via Sony's website) and flash a custom recovery/kernel and then your choice of superuser (SuperSU or phh's).
This will continue to be the case until the (increasingly unlikely) case that a root exploit is found that works on MM phones.
Z5 series had the virtue of being shipped with Lollipop, which was apparently slightly more vulnerable.
Also note that you will lose some functionality if you unlock the bootloader, including but not limited to camera enhancements and PS remote play
OK! I saw on Sony's website the tutorial to unlock the bootloader. Sounds doable to me.
Should it be enough, after unlocking the bootloader and installing SuperSU, to remove the bloatware? Or do I also have to flash the kernel?
Hi!
I think, easiest if you stay on stock rom, you should install a modificated / advanced stock kernel, like i posted above. But, i think its working rom version base must be " 34.1.A.1.198 ".
Or, after unlocked bootloader, flash with fastboot a good working!!! custom recovery ( i think the only one today is a twrp " https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0j3VJ1Xp5N8M1ZGbzBBMTdyRnM/view " ). after that, flash supersu. In this case, i dont known to much about drm fix, please search other forums.

questions about root and unlock bootloader

Hi all,
I want to ask to confirm a few things since my experience with android almost came from samsung notes, and I always unlock bootloader and root it right after I get my phones. Thanks in advance.
I bought a moto x pure edition from bh photo recently, and was thinking about unlock bootloader, root and enjoy the some features that need root access and/or customized room.
But I see that the vanilla (manufacturer) rom is very good and the release of OTA updates are relative reliably fast. My questions is
if I unlock bootloader and root, do I still have the OTA capability (I have to ask since I have not explore a lot customized room side of the moto x pure edition)?
if yes, what will happen if the OTA is applied? phone relocked or bootloader unlock and root access as usual?
Thanks
If you unlock bootloader, you will still have OTAs, but, im not sure if you root will still have OTA, i think yes, i think you loose OTAs if you change something in the firmware, but im not sure with the root tbh...

If you are unlocked only, it has zero effect on updates... if you unlocked and modified in anyway (root, TWRP, Xposed, whatever) the update with fail and either get stuck in recovery or bootloop, usually just wiping cache will get it booting again. OTAs cannot be applied unless you are purely stock.
Moto's will not relock the bootloader unless you specifically do it, but really there is no need to ever... other than purely security, there is nothing that can be regained by relocked that was lost in unlocking, including your warranty. Once you have been issues an unlock token, whether it is used or not, your warranty is gone forever.
Also be aware that rooting Moto's on Marshmallow is a bit different than older ways of rooting and requires a few extra steps, do your research on systemless and you won't have any problems.

question about bootloader

hi guys / gals i have a quick question
am I correct to think that everyone that has the moto g5 plus and has twrp and a rom installed has their boot loader unlocked
how do you feel about having an unlocked bootloader does it bother you or is it not really a big deal ?
I had twrp on my phone with lineage but that screen that was warning me about not being able to trust my phone got to me and I had to flash stock and re lock my bootloader but now I miss having 7.1.2 and now i'm stuck on android 7.0
sorry if I sound stupid i'm just looking for everyone view on the unlocked boot and if its worth it
thanks

I'm only speaking for myself here but most of us have been on this phone flashing stuff for quite a few years as of now, so the bootloader unlocking and all that jazz is just standard procedure to get to the spicy custom ROMs. Regarding this phone i haven't tried out a custom rom yet but i suspect i will very soon due to being used to some of the stuff custom ROMs provide (like idk data tickers on the status bar or all that jazz).
Hope this helps mate
That's standard, just flash a new logo bin. It'll ease your mind.

Hello. I'm looking to root my phone. I have an SM-G950U on android oreo and I'd like to know if I can downgrade to nougat 7.0 and root at the same time with a cf-auto-root package from firmware.mobi
Will there be any side effects? Is it possible to downgrade and root an sm-g950u at the same time with that package? (I selected the cf-auto-root option) If not, is there any other way I can get root access on my device? sorry for the noob question

Samdung s8 U version is using a snapdragon Soc or cpu ( idk) and all snapdragon samsung s8 and s8+ have their bootloader locked.. ( imagine ur bios patition for ur pc (sort of))
so with a locked bootloader which u cannot unlock ure stuck with official samsung upgrades..
this locked bootloader also locks u from downgrading.. meaning ure stuck with oreo.. theres no way back..
trying to force to erase ur samsung oreo to clean the partition to manually install android 7 will brick your phone ( where as theres no way to install another software on a phone that has no connection with hardware, basically ull have some metal and glass componnents... a dead phone..nothing can be done after) ..
Just wait a couple of months till Samsung hopefully fixes some oreo bugs.
Also rooting isnt possible at the moment with samsung s8 and s8+

Need I unlock BootLoader before using Magisk to root?

Hi.by chance I have got a Galaxy S8.Because the soc on this phone is snapdragon 835,I tried to use scene4 to overdrive it.But I found that I need to root my device before overdrive.I tried kingoroot, but it doesn't work.I want to flash Magisk by TWRP.But I am afraid of unlocking Bootloader because if I unlocked it,I can't use QHD technology again. So need I unlock bl to flash magisk or flash twrp?
Thank you for your support.
By the way.If so,are there any other way to get root permission without unlocking bl?
You can get root without unlocking BL, but only on a nougat rom.
