YEAHHH, FINALY MOTO G5 AND 5+ ARE ROOTED!!!!
Guys, I've created a post in MOTO G5 + GUIDES, to how to root it, then I post a link for this post on, G5 TWRP page. A lot of pelople are asking for Moto G5 too, then here it go !!! I do not own The G5 variant I can not test it. This is just a possible light (which in my opnion Should work too) for you guys to root your phone too, by the way the link for Stock ROM is bellow.

I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
backup your data before flashing it!
YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
Do everything at your own risk!
Guys after some attempts without success, a few minutes ago I got a stable way to root it, and the lot of people was getting trouble to make it I decided to create this post. If you want to root yours too, then follow and read (read all step line and understand it before doing) CAREFULLY this:
1. Unlock your bootloader
2. Download all files in the end of this post
3. Backup your data and files, all will be lost
4. I recomend you make a clean install, then flash stock ROM again(you can do this or not), so flash it(let the phone start)
5. Turn off the mobile, then go to bootloader screen and flash TWRP
Now the steps that people was getting trouble
6. In the Decrypt /data screen, press cancel, then "Swipe to Allow Modifications"
7. Go to WIPE, then "Swipe to Factory Reset"
8. Come back to TWRP main menu, go to REBOOT, then RECOVERY, then DO NOT INSTALL
Now TWRP is rebooting
9. "Swipe to Allow Modifications"
10. Plug your phone to PC (as TWRP is not reading sdcard yet)
11. Copy "no-verity-opt-encrypt-5.1.zip"(FLASH IT) and "Magisk-v11.6.zip"(NO FLASH IT YET), and flash "no-verity-opt-encrypt-5.1.zip", NO ROOT YET
12. Come back to TWRP main menu, go to REBOOT, then SYSTEM, then DO NOT INSTALL
13. After that, turn off the phone again
14. Go to bootloader screen and open TWRP
15. "Swipe to Allow Modifications"
16. NOW flash "Magisk-v11.6.zip"
17. After the setup, come back to TWRP main menu, go to REBOOT, then SYSTEM, then DO NOT INSTALL
18. When the Phone starts, go to Magisk App( it will ask for an update, then update it)
19. Open Magisk.......
20.BOOOOMMMM YOU NOW HAVE ROOTED PHONE!!!!

As I don't own The G5 variant I can't test it, then "Do everything at your own risk!"
*Why not SuperSU or Phh superuser??

Olá amigo, estou tentando reinstalar stock no meu fone que está em bootloop, o problema é que as stock que estão disponibilizando são de variantes como XT1681, XT168X, já vi até XT1676, enquanto que a minha é "cedric XT1672 32GB P5", M8937_8000.122.02.45R CEDRIC_BRAZILDSDS_CUST.
Pergunto: Tem como "extrair" a room original feita pelo TWRP antes do procedimento?

or maybe you could guide me to a brazilian moto G5's STOCK ROM that should match my phone.
Also, I am asking cos you seems to be brazilian ANDROID expert, thus better access to brazilian's ROMs than me.
What I need is a TIP to "revive" my phone.

The phone is already "dead", you can give a chance for the Stock that I said

did it on my 5g XT1676 dual sim 3GBram with the above guide worked fine, i recommend using he video from the 5g plus guide, its basically the same. Also give him a subscribe or thumbs up or something

nop. So far I've always rooted my android devices throw TWRT and to achieve that you need to unlock the BL.

I successfully rooted my phone(CEDRIC) with this thread's tip + @ Mike_Wasawsky's How Root MOTO G5, my experience's thread!
I followed all the steps but when I check using Root Checker, it says that the device is not properly rooted!

Since MagiskSU supports dm-verity and force encryption removal, doesn't it automatically decrypt the /data partition? In theory it should. Anyone tried?

You are still running an A firmware even if you have chenged the identifier from A to G.
1. You need to run and install legal G firmware and to use recovery from there.

O.K. now everything is clear:
You have a China Unicom Version of the phone on which some trained guy has placed G version of the Flyme via DD comand.
Next steps:
1.Root the device and make sure SU is active and you are able to change and save system files.
2. Open for editing your /dev/block/platform/15570000.ufs/by-name/proinfo
change the row value from:
machine_type=M576_mobile_public
to:
machine_type=M576_intl_official
(count the symbols and letter in this expression they should be always 13)
afterwards you'll be able to install 5.6.1.19 daily and unlock bootloader.
If something does not work properly or flash just crashes again you need to re-image your whole device again using this (5.1.3.0G) system.img switch on a rooted device #:

you must root your device first,and when edit /dev/block/platform/15570000.ufs/by-name/proinfo, you must use com.jrummy.root.browserfree.apk

Service center would be better option.
But for sure, there is not any warranty on your phone any more.
That's why I didn't unlock my bootloader yet. First there must be compatible stock rom and sure to flash it back. Maybe I need to wait next update to get whole rom to my pc...

True buddy wait coz i have also have a problem i flash the stock rom of xt1643 but it gets g4 rom installed. looking forward to go to service center,baseband and fps problem otherwise phone is working.

I too messed up my phone great deal. It showed system status modified...! Even WhatsApp gave warning that u r running custom rom. :laugh:
I re-flashed stock firmware... still system status modified in bootloader. But then I performed ota update to build MPJ24.139-63 .... now system status is official...!!!!
Not rooting anyway now...

Same happened with me.. sent the phone to service center.. (software status is in modified, hope they wont check it).. tried many roms still now luck..

Ayuda!!!! Moto g4 plus hard brick
Instale recovery twrp.. Probe varias rom y todo funcionaba bien....
Instale otra rom y ya no encendio... Ni al recovery puedo entrar lo conecto a la corriente y ni asi enciende nisiquiera la pantalla de carga . Permanece en negro la pantalla solo parpadea el led cuando conecto a la corriente el modelo es moto g4 plus xt1641 alguien sabe alguna solucion??
Lo lleve a reparar y me dijeron que es un problema con la tarjeta logica. .. Ayuda!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let me assure you that you cannot hardbrick your device by flashing any rom through recovery. It always can be recovered.

I installed recovery twrp.
Install a CM14 rom.

When rebooting just does not start anymore ..
And I can not go into recovery.
The screen does not turn on at all.

OMG!! The youtube link led me to resurrection remix for redmi note 3. Why did you flash a rom for redmi note on a moto phone. Things are much complicated than I thought. Let me ask you to do some things. Is there enough charge on your phone. If not charge it to make sure. If yes go on.
1. Press power key continuously for 3-4 minutes.
It helped some people with similar problem to reset their phone.
2. Press the volume down key and with the volume key pressed down, press the power key continuously. If everything is good, the device will go into bootloader mode.
Check these and reply.

I wanted to install RR compatible with substratum I made a mistake.
I try to do what he tells me. But nothing happens the screen is still black just start to blink the led

Try pressing the power button and the volume down at the same time. I was in a similar situation and doing so took me directly to the bootloader.

That's what i did
It is not possible to enter the recovery or bootloader the screen does not light even if you connect the charger the screen does not hold at all
Hiii, have a question. its posible to install the twrp (or other) in this device? , don't have specific version of twrp in the web and maybe if I install other version have brick. thnks

U can't install a twrp from other device but u can make twrp for ur device.. Send me your stock recovery.. Ill make twrp for u

U wont brick it if u install a wrong recovery.. But u cant boot into recovery if u installed a wrong one.. But its restorable...

Don't have the stock rom, and don't find in internet. in huawei web don't have the firmware (rom)
The phone its from a Vodafone promotion, in theory its free bud have Vodafone animation at start and end, and one app called start (no good.....) I like to clear the device like a stock device or purchased in huawei
(have boot loader unlocked with the huawei unlock number (web huawei) )

no, I try with all posibles (windows, mac, android versions) and don't root , easy method not posible and maybe with twrp + supersu app its posible to uninstall Vodafone app and change the bootanimation.

I am right now having a hard time trying for this pile of sh1te smartphone to properly enter the stock bootloader in order to unlock it. Right now this is all I see at the bottom of the screen of this piece of junk:

FRP Unlock
Heard I have to deactivate Fastboot function from device's settings (here and there, but nowhere in the device's settings is such option.
Stuck right now it seems. If any of you have something worthwile to say please do so before I turn it into a shooting target

Well, FRP is other thing related with a locked data for Google from old owner when it is registered a new account.
That is a piece of junk I´m totally agree, I used just for 8 days aprox and got rid of it.
To enter to fastboot mode is an easy job, I don´t remember exactly if it prompt for a code to unlock bootloader cause is a device with mtk SoC.
Just enable in developer options OEM unlock and USB debug (if developer options is disabled type 7 times in build number in "about device" section) then connect your device to pc (download first a minimal adb and install it) from the adb folder open a terminal like admin and type "adb devices" to see if pc recognices it, then type "adb reboot bootloader" (a special pre-fastboot for locked devices) (be attentive that your device will ask for granted permissions) once you are in fastboot mode just type "fastboot oem unlock" (without quotes) and if it is doesn´t ask for code just confirm the unlock option with pwr up.
Although all said you don´t need unlock bootloader to flash custom recovery so you can flash it through SPFlashTool with your scatter.txt and after to flash it first you have to do is reboot to recovery before to reboot device to avoid that be overwritten; you can put Supersu.zip in your sdcard and then flash it if you want to root it.

I just bought the LG K8 with the 2017 security update I am looking to root I cant find fastboot mode when I type into adb it restarts the phone I have read the post about flashing firmware but don't understand nor do i know where to find older firmware if i could get into fast boot i would be good rooting these new phones so complicated lol someone please help

i got the same LG, and it sucks!
My m200n has - for unknown reason - OEM unlocked after the Oreo update. Checked it via fastboot, confirmed. FUnny thing is: I'm the hell not able to keep this device in fastboot mode. ANyone knows how to do that? There is download mode - not getting recognized from fastboot. I tried so many button combos until fastbootk recognized it and was able to perform the OEM unlock and device-info command. Unlocke command returns: FAILED (because already OEM unlocked).
I thought, ok let's test it this is really unlocked. I pulled the boot.img from the kdz firmware and patched it via Magisk. Now I tried to flash it via fastboot - but I'm not able to get it recognized via fastboot command again... odd.
Also this device is so f*****, it doesn't even allow to format the sdcard as adoptable! I forced it voa adb, and it "works". Storage space shows now ~30GB instead 8GB. But it doesn't help at all as the phone somehow still thinks it has only 8GB of space. When I try to migrate data on the SD after changing to adoptable storage, the settings app crashes. It works though when I leave some space as ext sd partition. But then later it will act like crazy when internal is out of space. Apps just disappear into nothing....
Well, I found sources, but seems only to be the recent rom source (and this is partly closed source). Couldn't find kernel sources too. This thing is damn useless! At least it can be debloated via adb... but without root... idk. Anyone skilled here who could help me a little to check if we could flash this boot.img? or does the phone only show OEM unlocked by fun? xD

I've already bought LG K8 2017 (M200E) and I think there isn't yet a root method, or custom rom.

Nand Backup
I have an LG K8 (X240F) and create a rom from AOSP of Android 6.0.1 using the lg code the problem is that I have not been able to make a backup of my cell phone through Falshtool since it does not enter in downloader mode or preloader and that's why I could not do the flashing.
Someone has a method to make the backup and then to flash my cell phone.
