So, I have a Jailbroken iPhone 5s running ios 10.2, I also have a LG Watch Urbane. Now I am curious if there are any mods/apks/tweaks that'll improve the functionality of my watch. If there all already existing projects like this, please send me a link. If not, I would gladly help to test it. Kind regards and I appreciate all the advice/help received.

I am currently in the market for a "smart" watch as the trend of wearable tech is growing all around me. So far the ZGPAX seems like the best device for my personal use.
I have done plenty of research about the ZGPAX and it is hard to tell how many developers are interested in supporting and developing it. Aside from BigBison420s awesome work, it is hard to find any other support for the device.
Though there seems to be a lot of people that own the ZGPAX watch, I see very little actual footage or reviews of the watch in action.
The hardware of the device seems to be very good in comparison to other "smart" watches currently on the market; even considering it having a 2 year old CPU.
As with any device; the hardware is important, but software and software support are integral to a devices sustainability in our ever growing tech world.
So without further ado I present you with my questions.
1. What is the future of the ZGPAX smartwatch?
2. Will the developer of the ZGPAX release future OS upgrades?
3. Will the XDA community take on the ZGPAX as its Android/Watch love child and further support the device with future custom ROMS?
4. Will the ZGPAX miraculously get a custom Android Wear Port?
I might be asking these questions all too soon as smart watch tech has only kicked off in the past few years, but if you know any good information about the ZGPAX please do share..
Thanks for reading.
As of lately Sailfish OS got my attention, and I have to say this OS has a lot of potential. It reminds me of the BB OS10, WebOS and Meego UI all at the same time. The fact that is is open source is also a big plus. So why does nobody adopt this OS ? Let's not fool yourself... If the adoption rate stays like this it will die just like Symbian, WP8, BB OS10, WebOS, Ubuntu Mobile, Tizen and many more.
We, as the XDA community and family we are, have some amazing devs on board that have worked and released some of the most creative projects in the past. In fact, if we, as a community, want to get Jolla's OS to a higher level we have to promote it.
How can we do this ? Well the best way is to get it running in some massively popular devices which are dev friendly. Forget the Nexus, I'm talking the Moto G 2014 and E 2015 editions here. If anything stable cones out for these devices we can really start an useebase which will develop some amazing things hopefully.
The best way to get this is by developing for the midrange devices: this is how WP gained popularity the last year. People with high-end devices have usually bought the device for Android, cause they could have got any other platform they wanted. Midrange device users might have gotten it for Android, but generally speaking I think the experience is what matters most to them. So if their device is sluggish because of buggy Android Lolipop and they can have a really smooth experience with Sailfish... They will at least try!
Here you have The HADK PDF from Jolla. This can get you started if you are wondering how.

So if anybody has some free time and knows a thing or two about development, shout here.
Please keep this thread organised, sain and be respectfully. Don't ask for ETA's.
Hi @soulaiman !
I love this idea. I'm not a developer but I wanted so hard having salifsh on my moto that I tried myself to make the port, but the lack of time and machine resources made me drop it. I've followed the firsts steps of the HADK and I got stucked writing the manifest.
As I say, I don't have a lot of time but if you need a tester for the xt1032 you have one here.
Hi elfio,
Me neither. I'm not a dev but know some things about it. The problem is that my main PC has given its soul and I can't compile anything for now.
It would be really nice to have this ported.
That's a pity. I don't know when I'll have a new computer. Until then I can do nothing.
Anybody else?
There simply aren't enough Sailfish users, let alone devs, let alone porters.
It's still a much more complex, involved process than porting AOSP based Android ROMs to new phones, with a miniscule fraction of the interested parties and porters.
A semi-realistic target would be to support Sailfish ports for the new LG/Huawei Nexus devices later this year, they're likely to sell well and see a lot of (non-Sailfish) porting activity. Plus perhaps one of the Ubuntu Phone SKUs if one becomes popular, as porting should be easy - maybe the Bq convergence device hinted at for later this year.
Nexus 4 & 5 are the only decent(ish) ports at the moment. With an OK one for the One Plus One. If the new Nexus devices could be supported when they drop later this year, I think that'd be a good target. Any more ambition and we'll likely see the large number of half-baked, abandoned port attempts swell even further, which helps no-one and looks bad.
If something dramatic happens and there's more interest in Sailfish, maybe there'll be the resources to do a decent port on something like the S6 / S7 or Note 5 next year.
Would be great to see

Hello, I have tried my best to search around for information regarding the possibility of ever getting the ability to create custom watch faces using an iPhone and the iOS Android Wear app. I once had watchmaker installed on my android phone and had created some great watch faces and would love to get them back. Is there a watchmaker app in the works for iOS? Is there currently a possibility to get this working now? Or are we forever stuck with the stock watch faces we have within the iOS version of android wear.
I sincerely appreciate your help on this.
Best regards,
Ryan.
I was just wondering if it was possible to port Ubuntu for this device.
It's almost as if the software is dead for mobile devices.
Can someone more knowledgeable in the field please enlighten me?
Merci
I would love to have full Linux as well...

I was actually trying to build Ubuntu touch for my previous phone which was a motorola moto e2. Had to stop because I had my exams and then it's been half way ever since... And as per your question, Ubuntu is still based on a bit primitive kernel when I had last seen it. It's development has been turtle speed and nobody saw much of it. One major problem is that many apps are not yet developed for Ubuntu touch and canonical denied the support for Android apps as native apps run better and faster. So all in all, I will be good to have a Ubuntu touch but will be devoid of many useful apps available for Android. Would be nice to have it but after some time, I will get too bland as it will be basically a smartphone...with reduced smart features. That's why the community has seen less than 10 devices actually supporting the OS.
Thanks bro. Very clear and insightful.
Hi,
Today is my birthday, and my girlfriend got me a cheap smartwatch. I'm happy with the sediment behind the gift, believe me I am. However, there are a few things that caught my attention:
The proprietary android app (used to push notifications and such) has advertisements.
It is possible to flash firmware onto the GT08.
So I was wondering, is it possible to flash stock android wear (or close to stock) onto this watch? If so, could someone direct me to a guide? I would be happy if I could use the Android Wear app instead of this ad ridden thing by the manufacturers.
Thank you in advance.
I'm in the exact same position as this person... can anyone help? Please :fingers-crossed:

Yes, Me to!
Simple Answer is No. Even with old Android Wear like Sony SW3 (deprecated) nobody can made an updated OS

1) yes -- dev / programmer
2) yes -- proprietory equipment / software required.
It's cheaper just to buy a better watch if you 'HAVE' to have those capabilities.
I have a 'timemaker' from amazon watch, its decent, and it works as a watch. Sleep not so accurate, hr not so accurate as my table has a pulse of 160 (should really relax a bit) it does not count steps very well.
troublebshooting 'nameless' brands is always a challenge and most mod apps will not work.
So in short if modding is what you 'NEED' get a brand name watch; asus, samsung xiomi etc.
If a good estimate of your lifestyme (sleep, hr, steps) is good enough, then the no name is fine.
Always read reviews and check out companion app reviews before purchase (I'd have recommended a different one as the first one had to be sent back)
