With clean flashes on any AOSP based ROM I'm not able to get incoming calls or texts. If i make a call it will get incoming calls or texts until a reboot. Anyone have ideas? The not so stock rom is awesome but i prefer AOSP.
I checked through https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/manual-program-sprint-ls997-v20-t3557676/post71057647 but after going back to any stock based my phone settins work properly
After a reboot, I show 4g but no signal unless I make a call or change preferred network type from 'Global' to 'CDMA w/o EvDo' wait until it shows signal then go to 'CDMA + LTE/EvDo' then i can go back to 'Global' I have this problem with every AOSP based rom I have tried but any insight would be awesome!
Pretty sure this was mentioned in one of those roms threads.. You have to update your prl/profile or something of that nature..
Just like the Sprint one.... Your going to have to flash a aosp rom fix your network settings and then flash your other rom .... I've never had aosp roms mess up my network settings but on this phone they do for some reason

The difference from what I'm seeing with the sprint variant is that the problem only happens on AOSP based ROM's, on anything stock based I have no problems and can flash back to without issue. On any of the AOSP variants I've flashed so far I have data but no calls/texts unless I make a call first or change my preferred network type.
The aosp roms are changing the network to NV and u have to change back to sim but u can't update prl or profile on aosp roms

I've looked on the few AOSP rom's I've tried they all have had RUIM/SIM selected. Like I said though, If I go back to stock/stock based I have no issues that it looks like most are having from [HOW-To] Manual Program (SPR&VZW) guide, my calls/texts work every reboot and clean install coming from AOSP based.
Then it's a problem with the rom you are using...

It's been every aosp rom for vs995 or 996 and I've verified the md5
Just call your voicemail upon boot. It will connect and after that, calls/SMS work fine

Yeah, I too used go sms but I would really like to get it working natively .
The EB01 is the only baseband that allows the settings to stick, I flash phones all day. I just haven't tried going from flashed to Custom ROM also, only PAID CDMAWS works. I've tried everything and finally just paid $100 a month for the software. Btw, ty for the ROM's I haven't looked yet, I've done CWM, but never voodoo. If you want my settings I'll gladly post them. Everything on my phone works, talk, text, data web, mms, and metro apps from the handmark site.

Both of the pages suggested come up as error 404 page not found.
Also even if your phone is fully flashed on the fassy, you must use either stock sms, or, a sms app that allows you to fill the mms settings.
I'll post the settings tomorrow, I'm very tired, long day at work.

IDK about kernel manager specifically but it shouldn't affect the flash I flashed the PBJ -50 and -100 kernels all the time when I was on EF, I believe EF 3.6 comes stock with the PBJ -50 kernel from imnuts.

Again I flashed kernels time and time again, never once did it mess with the actual flash. Just in the last week I have flashed the kernel about 9 times moving from roms. So no, but again I never user kenel manager always either Odin or CWM. I work grave so I'm about to go to bed but I'll check the thread when I wake up and thanks for the settings in advanced.
Wait, it says I'll go from cwm, to voodoo, I know nothing about voodoo. Will this ROM work on EB01?

Guys,
I've been using an SGS, followed by an SGS 2 and have always used custom ROMs without any issues in the past. I have recently traded the SGS 2 with a friend for my old blu-ray player and an old SGS. Long story, won't go into why.
No matter which build of ICS I am using, I am getting serious problems with this phone. SlimICS does not find a signal at all, it just says no service. On the one I am running at the moment (4.0.4 GTi9000_IMM30B_BETA_8_RC) and also with the nightly CyanogenMod builds, if I take or make a phone call, everything is fine. When I next go to make a call, the earpiece does not become active. The data and normal network connection is still active, but this renders the phone almost useless - having to reboot the phone every time I wish to make a phone call takes as long as sending an email for me!
Also, I should be able to choose Tmobile Orange as my network service as I am with T-mobile, who is partnered with Orange to give better signal. On the ROM I currently use, "Tmobile Orange" is not a selectable network.
Is this a problem I can resolve by flashing with a different modem?
If I can't fix this I will probably just run over the phone and buy a Nokia Lumia (change does wonder for a headache!)
Any help is appreciated.

Yes I've actually used the JVU one from it and I also tried using Odin to flash it manually using the modem I am able to get Tmobile Orange with at the moment on Gingerbread - neither work.
Is there a specific modem I need to use in the UK to get this reception?
Go to samfirmware and see which it is under your section. Ex my download is called something like ""XX-KG3. Which means my modem is KG3.

I am getting nothing from the Checker page when I type in the details I have.
Like I said, I know it is JVU firmware I have because I've manually flashed it and it works perfectly, but when I install SlimICS it simply does NOT pick up a signal at all, even if I flash it with a radio seperately afterwards.
No signal
I installed Slim JB yesterday and no signal at all.
I tried JPG and JPU modems from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158783 but no avail.
Still no signal. I am going to try with other sims and even other roms to asses my problem.

I recently installed cm10 on my new s4 but the 3g speeds are really slow. WiFi is slow too. I saw a forum with the same problem with the HTC one. They said it was a problem with the baseband. Any help would be great because I'm not a huge fan of the stock os even though the internet runs great on it.

You could always try to go to a Touchwiz Rom, update the prl and profile, and then flash back to cm10. I've heard that can speed up data a bit
You also could try flashing the MDL modem with Cm10...that might help as well http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2338919

I don't think updating in the stock rom will have any affect since the internet on the stock rom runs fine. It's only after I install cm10 that the internet starts to bog down.

I did the odin thing and now my stock rom can't use wifi. When I enable it it says an app is trying to get certain permissions and wifi immediately gets disabled. It tells me to reboot the phone and I do so and same problem occurs. I did come to find that when on cm10 the internet does work but the play store and pandora only work on wifi. I get connection errors on 3g with those two apps.
Try to flash a custom kernel or flash a different AOSP ROM.

Not sure why the kernel would affect it. I was trying to find an aokp version that would work for sprint but couldn't find one.
It could help the WiFi issues because when my WiFi wouldn't work I flashed a custom kernel and it would work.

Oh you mean for the stock rom? I don't want to use the stock ROM if I can get the play store and Pandora working on cm10. The stock ROM is saying its a security issue and not just an error with the WiFi so I don't think that would help. The problem started after I installed the modem in Odin.
For both I also recommend checking out that ROM it seems like what you want in a ROM customization, AOSP, and the stabability of CM. Here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2312063 if not check the original android development section it is filled with great AOSP roms similar to CM or better.

There is many cases that aosp roms/kernals have slow data speeds. The epic 4g touch was one. All aosp or touchwiz roms with non stock kernal had poor data speeds. This phone may be different. Im running tw rom with kt kernal and data speeds are the same. The prl/profile thing is huge not being able to update it in aosp can cause problems.
I installed pacman ROM and the gapps and Google play immediately stops working and a message pops up every 5 seconds and the internet won't load. I got Google to load once and that was it. I had to switch back to cm10.

IM A BEANSTALK DIE HARD
i dont want to use another rom for me this rom is PERFECT

I had the same issue with my S4. tried the Heimdall fix and it did not work for me.
Finally I had to flash MK2 and get back on to 4.3
The phone app works fine now. I tried to flask 4.4.2 rom again yesterday but still no luck with the dialer. Staying on 4.3 until we can find a solution to the dialer app crashing or Samsung releases 4.4.2 for S4
Same problem GS4 Sprint
Greetings,
Same problem here, I haven't tried incoming calls as I installed the ROM last night. But I'm not able to hang up a phone call.
Any suggestions appreciated.

I tried to flash back to mk2 modem but no success (Baseband: Unknown)
Now I am downloading the stock mf9 .tar file to flash through odin...may be the modem or efs is corrupted.

I agree with the setting change, you could also try manually updating your APN.
I am curious on why you are using a much older Rom? If you migrated to an up to date Oreo build of Lineage, AEX, AICP, or AOSIP, you would unlikely experience any issue.
If you want the best 6.01 rom i highly recommend aopk.
