Verizon Fascinate Flashed to Metro PCS. - Fascinate General

I'm rather new here, I need help with how to put ROM on my Samsung Fascinate from Verizon that has been put on Metro PCS I'm running 2.2.1 Froyo and have a baseband of EB01, I'm also fully rooted. Can anyone help me, #1 get a recovery, #2 flash a ROM onto my phone. It would be very appreciated. Thank you ahead of time for any help.

No I tried many different roms. Apn do stick because I can make it so I can't receive anything as far as mms.

Yeah, I too used go sms but I would really like to get it working natively .

The EB01 is the only baseband that allows the settings to stick, I flash phones all day. I just haven't tried going from flashed to Custom ROM also, only PAID CDMAWS works. I've tried everything and finally just paid $100 a month for the software. Btw, ty for the ROM's I haven't looked yet, I've done CWM, but never voodoo. If you want my settings I'll gladly post them. Everything on my phone works, talk, text, data web, mms, and metro apps from the handmark site.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk

Both of the pages suggested come up as error 404 page not found.
Also even if your phone is fully flashed on the fassy, you must use either stock sms, or, a sms app that allows you to fill the mms settings.
I'll post the settings tomorrow, I'm very tired, long day at work.

That is extremely weird, as the url is correct........... Anyway just go to the android development section and look for evil fascinate rom thread. That has all the instructions you need.

IDK about kernel manager specifically but it shouldn't affect the flash I flashed the PBJ -50 and -100 kernels all the time when I was on EF, I believe EF 3.6 comes stock with the PBJ -50 kernel from imnuts.

Why would [email protected] work? On my APN I have set as [email protected] but aside from that and password, the mcc mnc and mmsc are the same.

So if I flash a kernel it shouldn't, theoretically, mess with my Metro PCS radio flash?

Again I flashed kernels time and time again, never once did it mess with the actual flash. Just in the last week I have flashed the kernel about 9 times moving from roms. So no, but again I never user kenel manager always either Odin or CWM. I work grave so I'm about to go to bed but I'll check the thread when I wake up and thanks for the settings in advanced.

Wait, it says I'll go from cwm, to voodoo, I know nothing about voodoo. Will this ROM work on EB01?

Actually, if I go to this and get voodoo, how can I get back to cwm if necessary?

is there a way to manually download el30- sprint?

OK, a long time ago, I did a manual update on my EPIC 4g (sprint). I am thinking that is why I am unable to download the update through the setting tab a week after the update came out. I know everyone has it now. I have no idea what update I did on my phone last year... but I havnt been able to get firmware updates from sprint since them. I'd kinda like to have this one.
Does anyone know of a link that has this update, I can load to my SD card and execute on the phone? I just want to be able to reboot to the new ROM, I dont want to have to hook up to a PC and load it that way. I need a rookie, easy way to do this.
Thanks!!!
You most likely have either rooted or removed at least 1 pre-installed application. That would cause the EL30 update not to install. You can find the .zip file in both the General and Development forums.
If you have rooted or removed any pre-installed apps, then the stock .zip file won't install for you. You would need to make sure you're on a custom kernel for your current build (most likely EC05 or EI22), get CWM 5 installed and then install one of the near stock roms in the Dev forum.
Yea, it was so long ago, I dont know if it is rooted or not? I have been away from this stuff for quite a while and have completely lost touch. CW5? is that an app that I can install directly from the SD card? Also, does the dev forum have ROM's that I can install from SD as well? - sorry for all the questions!

Go to your Settings > About Phone to see what your baseband, kernel and OS build are.
Yes the dev forum has kernels and roms available for you to flash. Google search "QBKing77 youtube channel" to get how-to videos for doing everything.
Baseband = your modem version. This is completely independent of your kernel and OS and can be a different version from those two.
Kernel & OS build = these must match in build #. Example would be EC05, EI22 and EL30. Some custom kernel's do not include the build # on the About Phone screen, but stock would.
CWM = ClockworkMod Recovery. This is a custom recovery tool that allows you to flash custom roms, kernels, mods and themes.
Easiest way to see if you're rooted is to look for the application Superuser in your application list. If it's there, then you're most likely rooted.
is there a way to unroot this handset and allow the sprint update to come thru? If not, what is the name of a good (stock) gingerbread ROM? There are a ton of them over on the dev side and honestly I dont want to mess with he clockwork stuff. Im kinda pinched for time.
I did find the CWM5 zip - i assume i can run that directly from the SD card, then apply the new ROM.
no superuser... know that I think back, I dont think I did root it. But I dont know why else the carrier update wont work?
ok, I just looked @ the current version(s).
BASEBAND: d700.0.55.DK28
KERNAL:2.6.32.9
BUILD: FROYO.DK28
so, what is going to be the easiest way to get this to EL30?
I am almost done bothering you guys - I promise!
Odining the el30 stock package and flashing an ec05 modem and then flashing the ec05 to el30 delta
Ill offer to do it for you in a little over 15 minutes if you'd like via teamviewer

The modem is if I want to tether - correct? If I dont want to tether, then I dont have to flash the modem portion ?
No the modem is what allows for reciveing signal
Usually the most updated modem allows for better signal

Verizon Roms on Sprint S4.

I would like to hear everyones experience with this,
I remember reading someone did it and had it working,
so any details would ne nice, so that everyone can get a new set of roms!
because everyone knows how limited us sprint folk are, I mean we have like what? 8 or 9 roms?
we need more bad!!
You can run i9505 roms, and I am sure others, I have someone testing it with sprint, but he has been gone for a few days, I suppose....follow my guide, it does not have sprint listed yet, but the concept is the same, in short start off by flashing the rom you want, and before you boot, flash a sprint kernel, then tweak the rest...

You could always try to go to a Touchwiz Rom, update the prl and profile, and then flash back to cm10. I've heard that can speed up data a bit
You also could try flashing the MDL modem with Cm10...that might help as well http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2338919

I don't think updating in the stock rom will have any affect since the internet on the stock rom runs fine. It's only after I install cm10 that the internet starts to bog down.

I did the odin thing and now my stock rom can't use wifi. When I enable it it says an app is trying to get certain permissions and wifi immediately gets disabled. It tells me to reboot the phone and I do so and same problem occurs. I did come to find that when on cm10 the internet does work but the play store and pandora only work on wifi. I get connection errors on 3g with those two apps.

Not sure why the kernel would affect it. I was trying to find an aokp version that would work for sprint but couldn't find one.

Oh you mean for the stock rom? I don't want to use the stock ROM if I can get the play store and Pandora working on cm10. The stock ROM is saying its a security issue and not just an error with the WiFi so I don't think that would help. The problem started after I installed the modem in Odin.
For both I also recommend checking out that ROM it seems like what you want in a ROM customization, AOSP, and the stabability of CM. Here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2312063 if not check the original android development section it is filled with great AOSP roms similar to CM or better.

There is many cases that aosp roms/kernals have slow data speeds. The epic 4g touch was one. All aosp or touchwiz roms with non stock kernal had poor data speeds. This phone may be different. Im running tw rom with kt kernal and data speeds are the same. The prl/profile thing is huge not being able to update it in aosp can cause problems.

[Q] Signal Loss after Kernel Change

Hello XDA Developers,
I was trying to install a custom ROM on my Galaxy S4 deivce (SPH-L720). I successfully flashed the ROM through CWM. I installed the Google Edition ROM that was somewhere in the forums under Android Development.
But after reading the thread, it seemed that many people were have success with a kernel known as "AGAT".
After about 4-5 minutes of using the ROM, my signal and LTE went away, so I decided to flash that kernel as well. However, now I don't get any signal on any ROM. I flashed the stock kernel through Odin (I was trying to see if that would work), but no luck yet.
Any advice or tips?\
===================================================
UPDATE:
I restored it to the stock firmware and used TriangleAway. I took it to the Sprint store and the guy fixed it up for me in about 30 seconds.
Ya he probably just updated the prl and profile.

You have to install the kernel right after flashing the rom...then wipe dalvik/cache and fix permissions. Worked great for me..

You're not *actually* calling anyone. It's sort of like command prompt for your PC. But instead of command prompt you use the dial pad It WILL work and it takes less than 30 seconds.

I have managed to get the rom up and running.....for the most part. Only downside so far is I can't get Netflix to work. It just loads forever

T_T I'm not sure of what to search for. For branded roms it's relatively easy, but as an INT'L ROM I'm not sure if my process would work. So it's just some obscure file? I was thinking it may be because I flashed something wrong. No chance you can remember where you think you may have seen it? Like xda or another site?

OMG You're a lifesaver. It worked! Thanks!
Now to create some more threads or posts in the Nameless ROM section; Upon reflashing my backup to perform this fix, I now have random system information on my lockscreen and notification bar. Oh well.
Thanks again!

I have been trying my hardest, asking on every forum i can find, to find out how to get the beta release of emotion kernel R24 for N910T. Not one single response.....but anyway. It is my understanding that the latest release of Emotion Revolution rom has r24 kernel as an option in aroma. My question is this; would it be possible to unzip the R23 kernel zip for N910T and replace only the R24 boot image from the emotion rom and leave all the other system files. Or would that be a really bad idea? Ha. I just want the kernel on Tekhds URv7. I know this is possible a really stupid question but I'm just now beginning to learn all the technical details of these things. And I will say ahead of time that any answer will be beneficial because I don't know much about how a N910T kernel differs from international as far as data is concerned or what the fix actually fixes when you flash it. But if it has any relwvance my phone is carrier unlocked and i dont even use tmobile. My goal is to learn something new everyday without hard bricking my baby like I did my N900A. I'm not by any means new to rooting but am very new to having a device that I can actually play with. Thanks in advance and us noobies appreciate everybodys patience.
