Hey guys,
I have a stock S7 Edge nougat (non rooted) and I wanted to know if it was possible to via any means (say e.g. ADB) to mount the full internal memory from root as a USB or some kind of mounted drive?
I wanted to run some data recovery software on the partition which is why I need it mounted so I can run the software (from my Mac) on the mounted storage.
If that is not possible then is there a way to temporarily get root on the Phone as there are some android apps that can recover data from internal memory but they need root access...
I don't want to root my phone mainly because I use some apps (such as banking) for my work that don't work with a rooted phone.
Appreciate if anyone can help or guide me in the right way.
Me too stuck with same kind of situation / requirement...
any techies / experts, pls give some solutions to mount the internal storage on PC/MAC.
Tried with SyncMate, but its data exchange speed is very slow
tks.

Hi folks,
Can you tell me if it's possible to mount the internal memory of the I9505 with CWM or TWRP ? I know there's an option for that but don't know if it's working with the internal memory ?
My friend has deleted pictures on his internal storage, I can't access from Windows cause the phone connect in MTP mode.
I just want to mount the internal storage as a "mass storage" to scan it with some recovery software.
He live far away from my house, I don't have the phone with me right now, I ask this question before he come here, if the answer is negative he don't have to drive a long time for nothing.
Thanks for your help.
Best regards.
Cheers.
EDIT : I think it's not possible. I can't mount my internal SD with my Nexus4. I've tried the cygwin method but no luck. There's any adb command to mount internal storage on recovery ?
Hello all
I have a problem with my nexus 4:
The internal storage isn't mounted (or isn't mounted for writing), the symptoms are:
1. No app can write to the internal storage (TB says Internal storage is full, taking a screenshot says the same error, if i'm trying to use es file explorer i can see the files but can't edit them. surprisingly taking photos using the camera works fine).
2. when i connect the phone to the pc i see the nexus 4 device, but it's empty
3. on recovery the storage works as regular
i've figured out something wrong with the mounts, i tried searching a little
my mounts are attached to this post (this are the mounts when the phone is running)
i couldn't find any mount to /storage/emulated/0 or /sdcard
i have no idea when this is happened, i did a clean install of chroma 6.0 on euphoria rom and the problem is still happening
i hope someone can figure this out
thanks in advance
Well I did not think this through lol
I had Adopted Storage set up on my 2017 16 Gb Shield and I had to re-flash some partitions, so I used Flashfire to create a backup, and silly me saved it on the external USB drive. Now that I'm done with all the flashing, the shield is back to being set up to use the actual internal storage again, but it can't read the encrypted USB.
Trying to set it up as either portable or internal storage warns that it will be reformatted, so haven't done either, the USB is just as it was before any flashing.
Is there any way for me to get my /data partition back with all the apps/settings i had? I guess either:
1) somehow access the Flashfire backup, then "adb push" it to my laptop, set up adopted storage again and wipe the USB and recover the data partition from the backup?
2) maybe somehow reactivate internal storage to use the /data partition from the usb drive?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
(if it makes any difference, I was on full android nougat, flashed nvidia 5.0.1 recovery with flash-all.bat, did the OTA to 5.1, then flashed system/vendor of an updated full android nougat, and rooted it. now im back at full android but blank, hoping i can restore. if not, i guess i'll just have a few hours of reinstalling haha)
The only way to read an encrypted card is with the key. Keys are stored in /data/misc/vold. If you don't have a copy of your key then you're out of luck, sorry.
Yea you're screwed
Dang it. /data/misc/void is empty, the wipe took care of that.
Thanks anyways.
Hello. After from some mistake, I formatted my internal storage via twrp. Now I want to recover the data which I had. The bad is that the device is connected to pc as MTP & NOT as Mass Storage so that to use some data recovery to get the lost data. I tried MTPdrive which is to convert the mtp to mass storage but not any result. I tried Mobisaver (Easeus) which is for recovering data from internal drive but appears the message error that can't get the root previlidges even if my mobile is recognised as rooted. Also I used the dr fone recovery but for similar reason with above it can't scann deep my device. The only solution which I have found but it is difficult to try it because it needs unix commands so that to get the internal storage as raw image & after to convert the raw to vhd & after to mount it as drive so that to been scanned via data recovery like recuva which is given in here : https://howtorecover.me/data-recovery-internal-storage-android-phone-guide#raw or similar : https://roubert.name/joakim/androidfilerecovery/
The bad is that in these methods the unix commands are unclear & the most times you will get some error in the running of commands or the instructions will be unclear. Also I tried Partitions backup (apk) which can dump the internal as raw but althought has the option to save the dump image to external storage, it saves only to internal which is irrational because my internal storage is 64 Gb & can't be saved all this as img file to my internal due to low capacity & for some unknown reason the external storage save can not be selected. Does it exist some way to get the lost data back of internal storage or to connect my Mi A1 as mass storage or to dump my internal storage as raw ? Thanks.

Anyway, how to dump my entire internal storage as raw file ?
I followed this method and I was able to successfully dump my phone internal storage data into raw. But please be aware that successful recovery of your data from the dump file is not quaranteed.
Please read carefully the instructions and always make a backup before u proceed.

In the beginning writes "This method does not seem to work on newer phones that apply TRIM or some other type of partition clearing implementation. If anyone has recovered their data on a device newer than Android 4.3 please pm me and let me know." Does it mean that it is for older mobiles or you did it for Mi A1 with android 8.1 ?

If there is no backup of the lost data, first stop using it in case of data overwritten. Then try a third-party data recovery software to help you Recovery Data From Internal Memory. Usually, it can help us access to data like photos, videos, music and documents on internal memory of Xiaomi phone and scan them out. Then we can preview and choose them to recover at ease.
