Nobody seems to know! I am searching this for quite a few days for this. Tried google, xda, reddit, yahoo and many other places but without any luck.

Use google dialer and give all permission with change system settings ON and in call UI will be changed.

It's quite easy. You have to disable your animation scales in the developer options in the settings.
First you must enable the developer options:
Settings, about device, software info, build number (tap it 7 times)
Now go back to the settings and you'll find the developer options. Tap these options and select off for each one of them:
windows animation scale
Transition animation scale
Animator duration scale

Animator duration scale?

Anyone know what "Animator duration scale" in the Developer options settings is?
I'd like to know, too
Seems even google doesn't know since I haven't found the information despite googling for some time.
Since transition and window animations are covered by the other options I can only assume it affects widget animations or something.

This animation is when you press the app tray button.
However, you may change this option and notice it has no effect! Fine, call me a liar. Seriously though...
The reason it will *appear* to have no effect is because the launcher will need to be restarted.
Just set it to .5 or off if you want your app tray to pop up MUCH faster.
I assume this has no effect on custom launchers.

I was looking for this too, and did not find any answer, so I tried to set Animator duration scale to 10x and result is that this is let's say in app animation. In camera app it's animation of hiding settings buttons etc.
Truth is that an app has to be restarted to take effect. Just press recent apps and swype application , you're testing on away.
You can try it or watch video on YT http://youtu.be/Qot4n0EV1SE
hope this helps.
It changes the speed of certain apps animation and some system animation. Keeping it off or lower will increase the speed of animation.

[BUG TEST] Disabling animations kills ability to launch applications by icon tapping

Hello XDA members,
I've created this thread to devise a bug test. The bug is as follows: When disabling all animations, tapping on an icon in the stock launcher does not run any application when tapping sloppily. An exact tap has to be met.
It only applies to stock roms. The purpose is to link this thread to SONY developers depending on the test outcomes.
The test is simple:
Navigate to Settings → Developer options, and set the following:
Window animation scale→ off.
Transition animation scale → off.
Animator duration scale → off.
Reboot phone.
Now try tapping on any launcher icon. According to the bug description tapping on an icon won't launch any application unless you tap 'correctly'. It might be about 1pixel precision, so no unnecessary movements. Quite difficult to achieve on a 1080x1920 display.
To revert back do the following:
Swipe down to open the notifications bar.
Navigate to Settings → Developer options, and set the following:
Window animation scale→ 1x.
Transition animation scale → 1x.
Animator duration scale → 1x.
Reboot phone.
Please reply with feedback whether application launching worked or not, and help make Xperia Z a better phone. Thank you!
UPDATE: The bug seems to be solely caused by Animator duration scale - keeping it on allows easy tapping.
Yes you're right I faced the same problem after disabling the animation
I've had this problem since pretty much day 1 of getting this phone.
One of the first things I do when setting up my phone is disable animations. I have re-enabled the animations and the home launcher is working again.
I might stick with nova launcher for now though. It's a lot smoother and I don't like animations.
works with .5 then reboot
It works, now I can use my sony stock launcher again. thanks :good:

Animation smoothness tip

I know most of you already know of this, and it's been posted on numerous other threads or articles, but it makes such a big difference on this device that I thought it deserves a special topic.
Activate developer options and enable "Force GPU rendering". I frequently noticed stuttering on the stock launcher and it really bothered me that a high end tablet like this would have such issues. So I thought of this old tip and enabled it. And wow, it really makes a huge difference. The launcher is butter smooth now, even with a live wallpaper. And the rest of the other animations feel much better now.
For an even more "responsive" feeling I recommend switching all the animation scales at 0.5
They are found on the same menu, developer settings.
You don't need root for this, to enable the menu just go into settings > about tablet and tap 5 times or more on "build number". The system will notify you that you have become a developer, now go back to settings and you will find "developer settings".
BTW if you change the animation scales you will need to reboot once for the full effect.
Awesome, thanks for the tip!
Quick question though, when you change the animation scales, should I also change Animator duration scale to 0.5x? Or just Window & Transition animation scale?
Lastly, does this also improve frame rates on games?

There are 3 animation scales that you can all set at 0.5
It won't improve gaming performance, it will just force 2d animations to be proccesed by the GPU instead of the CPU.

Animations

Can someone give a tutorial on how to change the animation speed? Is it a build prop edit? Thanks
It's in developer options> drawing

Settings *scroll down* > Developer options
There should be some settings under "Drawing" for window, transition animation and animator duration scale.
If you can't find Developer options, scroll further down, tap "About phone", then tap "Build Number" 7 times (I think, just keep tapping until it says that developer mode has been enabled).

My apology. I know how to do this in developer settings. I wanted to know how to make my own custom animation speed. I probably didn't post this correctly.
Some custom ROMs have a slider for animation speed. As for stock, I'm not too sure. Haven't used stock in a while.

And to think users on this forum believe there's no need for custom Roms! Which ROM are you running btw?

Proudly rocking PureNexus on my 6P. To be fair, I was on rooted stock and xposed for a while but then missed the adrenaline from constant flashing and couldn't deal with xposed's instability (sounded better in my head than typed out), and I can see why someone would like a 100% stock phone. Google really does a good job with Marshmallow this time. Hope Android N would be even better.

Disable race car animation after clearing all recents in Marshmallow

Does anyone know how to disable that animation?
i check all setting and don't have find this "function" (sorry for bad english ahah)
Go to Developers options and set window animation scale, transition animation scale, and animator duration scale to zero. That should do it, I guess.
It's not an animation. More like a screen that pops up and says something along the lines of "battery optimized and boosted, 200 ram released"
It is adware. Some app you installed recently is causing it. You either find out which app it is by yourself my elimination and post all the apps you installed and ask the community for suspect apps.
Also which ROM?
It's a native part of the stock ze500kl marshmallow rom.
