Developer preview, will test. - Google Pixel Guides, News, & Discussion

Good evening everybody, I have recently downloaded and installed the new Android O developer preview, and I am loving it! Seems like response time with many things has been improved, I am still testing battery life and will post on this thread. Also if any developers would like to test root or apps, please let me know and I will gladly be the test dummy,

There is already at least one thread open on this topic.

[ROM] The Ultimate Droid 3.2.5 Discussion

GENERAL DISCUSSION:
Just felt I should share this with everyone since I don't think a lot of people know about it yet. I know I never heard of it until the other day.
Trying to get an idea of what others think...
I guess there has been some controversy between Blackdroid (UltimateDroid) and the CyanogenMod team over the likeness of Ultimate Droid to CyanogenMod 7. They are almost identical, however, Ultimate Droid offers far more customization and every bit as snappy. As most of you know, the CM7 Final was released nearly 24 hours ago. I obviously downloaded and flashed it immediately to check it out. Honestly, there just wasn't anything special enough to keep it, I immediately restored my UD backup.
I certainly don't want to get in the middle of any beef between developers, after all these are both phenomenal ROMs.I just know I am always looking to try new ROMs and other methods of tweakness and hope others would speak up...
Obviously, I take no credit for anything here, just sharing info...
Your last thread about this in Dev was closed. While I do agree it belongs here... PLEASE tell me you got permission from the mods to post this again (even though it is in a different section). If you didn't... prepare for lockdown

"UltimateDroid Development is to not be discussed here. Closing thread."
...not sure why "development" of a ROM doesn't belong in the "Development" section...
no I didn't talk to anyone. I'm not doing anything wrong. And if I am, I should at least be notified. I'm just trying to get the information out there because it's a great ROM. I'm not getting anything else out of posting this. As I said, I take no credit whatsoever, just sharing information since nobody else has. If this site isn't about getting information to people then I will quite posting.
you actually are doing something wrong by opening up the same thread a mod just closed.
I'll quote the mod from your previous thread.
UltimateDroid Development is to not be discussed here. Closing thread.

XJ's MIUI - possible answer to launcher FC

(TL;DR note - 3rd paragraph has the findings)
hello all, ive never posted before on this forum before (been a member since i bought my LG Optimus GT540 though), and since im under the 10 post limit i cannot post this in the relevant thread (i.e. the development thread).
ive been using both mssmision and xavierjohn22's versions of MIUI since it became the official miui.us version (for reference: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1224147). the launcher FC bug really became annoying, to the point that i went back to CM7 because of that bug, and the fact that the updates stopped. i flashed the newest version yesterday in the hopes that it may be fixed, but to my dismay it still does it.
so i decided to fiddle around a bit, and made a discovery. if anything is placed in the 5th row, and you install/uninstall a program, the launcher will FC, if nothing is in any of those rows, then it will not FC. now, im not exactly an expert in this topic at all, but could it have something to do with MIUI's launcher not being able to handle the fact that its not 4x4 as it was intended?
either way, i hope that this is seen by the relevant people and may have been some help. i would also like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in getting MIUI to the galaxy tab, and all the developers for the galaxy tab for their wonderful work. thank you all!

This is neither a Question or Development related.

that is true, its not a question. although it is kinda development related. considering its a bug in a rom currently being developed.
even so, sorry for posting in the wrong section, and thank you for moving it.

If you had modified the MIUILauncher.apk to stop crashing when something is placed in the 5th row, that would be considered development.
You have just given a tip, whilst still highly appreciated, its not development.

sorry for any misunderstanding on my behalf, i never intended to cause any problems, just offer my tip which may help make xavierjohn22's MIUI build become stabler. i have personally wanted an android device with MIUI ever since i first saw it in action on youtube. as i said in my first post, if it wasn't for the 10 post limit (which i am sure is there for all the right reasons) then i would have posted a reply in the original thread in the development section where i hoped it would be seen by xavierjohn22. above all, truly sorry about causing any problems.
on another note, 212 views on this thread and no other replies? has anyone else who is running this ROM had a chance to try this out and see if it helps them? or has anyone disproved it? any feedback would be appreciated, or if anyone could post it in the original thread and point it out to xavierjohn22 that would be appreciated to.
thank you anyway!

No need to apologise, mistakes do happen
Have you tried PM'ing xavierjohn22 with this?
no i havent, i just assumed his pm's would be turned off as most developers seem to get hit with heaps of pm's every day and eventually turn them off. that is a great suggestion, i will give it a shot, thank you!
edit: just sent a pm to xavierjohn22 with details, thank you for your help andyharney!

Flashaholic life end thoughts

Ok,writing this post to tell you guys after a countless flashes, countless ROMs and so on : There is NO SUCH THING stable custom ROM ever!
I've tried almost every ROM posted here, and before it on my old Samsung Galaxy Note 2,even when i feeled that finaly i found one, after a week or two after using it should be a bug that hard to find with a daily use but it still exist and when you get to it,its annoying and here i find myself changing to something else.
After a year of using this great phone i finaly realized that is most stable ROM is official CM ROMs that we get throughout OTA.
This post based on self feeling and not coming to offend any of our great developers that hardly trying to make our daily user experience better and easy. You deserve a great THANKS from everyone of us
Thanks,
And sorry for my not very good english!

***Cataclysm Rom threads closed****?????

http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/development/rom-cataclysm-nexus-6p-t3252073
The thread was closed i believe because of 20 days of inactivity by the dev but there were no improvements to be made!!! Now the February security patch is available and I'm sure the dev will be back. I'm just confused as to why a thread with 30,000 responses gets closed one day.
Am i missing something
https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/co...sm_development_halted_indefinitely/?limit=500
Thank you
So long and thanks for all the fish @atl4ntis
This is just really bad. I love Cataclysm rom, after trying many other roms, this one the one that is totally stable, I had not have a single problem with it. With other roms I have many system crashes, or applications not responding, etc. I am thinking of using ResurrectionRemix because I used it in my previous phone and was really good. I am going to miss this Rom and Atl4ntis for his great work.
I've been thinking about going to cm13 but the stability is keeping me from switching and the features i just can't live without
Cataclysm was the best rom ever on both the Nexus 5 and the 6P or any phone for that matter.. Ill ride the current ride until I need to upgrade or am forced.
Agreed
Had you followed the rules you would know. Also we do not talk about why things happen. That is for the mods and dev.

MHA-AL00C00B203 (EMUI 5.1 Early Beta) Findings and Discussion

It's now possible to install MHA-AL00C00B203, an EMUI 5.1 early beta. For more information, see here:
Mod edit: links removed
I would like to have this thread for people who have installed it to discuss new findings in EMUI 5.1
For me so far, I've found that the battery seems to drain less, but that might be subjective.
I've noticed a definite improvement in touch response time, and time to open/switch between apps.
I haven't noticed any new features, otherwise, but they might be there somewhere.
The installation requires a lot of work which can be quite a pain, but it does seem to be stable, as I haven't had any crashing or anything so far.
Anyway, if you're running it, what do you think? How's performance for you? How's battery life? Did you find any new features? Let us know.
you there man are good in helping this community, but u use other ppls work (twrp n superuser zips )without give credit to them by upload to your own server or another cloud.well at least paid some respect for those who work on the zips.i know your service r the only way for m9 to get revive Thier device (besides c636 n al00) but at least respect other ppl works.no offence i am not saying u r service is not good its still the only way for those who doesnt wanna rebrand their phone to other region nor root their device to recover their phone from semi brick/brick.
sorry for derailing from topic.
Peace Out!!
I paid 30.77 USD to by 5 credits and have just update my mate 9 to B173 and now been downloading B203.
