In my situation uncheck wipe box, ignore for fail and after 15-20 minutes everything was as before!
I was unencrypted,rooted,exkernel
I have to close and reopen flashfire to find ota download

Please, can someone share the OTA link? Thanks in advance.

Are there any major changes?

Does anybody know if there's a TWRP flashable ota zip?

[Custom OTA Update] XXBLG6 to XXBLG8 Flash in CWM without losing root or recovery

Here are my custom CWM recovery OTA updates for the international S3
NOTE: For STOCK Rom users only. Your CSC must be I9300OXABLG6. If you have made any changes to files in the /system folder it will fail.
If like me your using a stock ROM rooted with custom recovery or kernel and want to update without downloading the whole ROM and risk losing root and recovery in the process. These modded updates are for you to save time, bandwith and frustration.
Current OTA update: XXBLG6 to XXBLG8
ota.update.all.XXBLG8.zip 4 MB
ota.update.no.modem.XXBLG8.zip 4 MB
ota.update.no.kernel.XXBLG8.zip 542 KB
ota.update.no.kernel.and.modem.XXBLG8.zip 541 KB
All the zips here will not replace your custom recovery or remove root. The no kernel and no modem zips are intended for users with a custom kernel and or want to keep their current baseband.
Tested and working on CWM 6.0.1.0 Touch and Chainfire's CWM 5.5.0.4
If you've got the OTA update notification nag, to get rid of it do this:
1. Using a file explorer with root permissions, I use ES. Go to /cache/fota ,In there will be the update.zip
2. Delete it or move it to your sd card.
3. Bring up the updater from the notifications and press install and OK, it should fail.
4. Notification nag gone.
Older OTA updates:
Austria (T-Mobile)
ota.update.XXALE8-XXBLFB.CSC-MAXLF2.zip 72 MB
ota.update.no.kernel.XXALE8-XXBLFB.CSC-MAXLF2.zip 67 MB
If you have got any older OTA updates, could you make them available for download so I can convert them.
Nice work mate, I'm sure a lot of people will find this very useful.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
+1 very well done. People who have not recieved ota or for some reason are still on lg6 like me will love it
Could you help converting other OTA updates as well? I got a I9300XXALE8 and an OTA update of I9300XXBLFB,
Do I need a full wipe to flash them?
Thanks.

Its in the '/cache/recovery' folder. That status 7 error means it failed the assert test for the model fingerprint I believe. You can only flash this update on a XXBLG6 rom and your CSC must be I9300OXABLG6. To check what ROM and CSC your using, do this.
1. Open your keypad dialer
2. Press *#1234#
3. It should show your ROM and CSC. AP = ROM and CP = Baseband.

2. Wipe Data, Cache and System
3. Unmount System
4. Flash zip

How do I remove TWRP recovery?

I just got my second hand Nexus 6p and the bootloader came unlocked and TWRP is installed.
The updates don't work when TWRP is installed so I want to go back to the stock recovery.
How can I achieve that?

twrp has nothing to do with not being able to take an update.

You can't. Android updates are programmed to load their updates through recovery automatically that is if you have stock recovery loaded. If you have recovery such as TWRP loaded, it will go there instead but fail

You can't install OTA updates with TWRP recovery. You can't take an OTA if you're rooted either, you'd need to flash the factory images to update. I have instructions in my guide:

It would be a good idea to read all the forums for the 6p before posting. This particular question has been asked numerous times probably at least once a day for the last 3 months. And there's always been a proper response. If you read the forums you will also gain information and knowledge for your future with these things.
