Axon 7 Nugat - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

So, I noticed there is no option to change resolution. I can't find the blue light limiter. What's left from original Android 7.0 in Axon 7, as well as what new features it offers, compared to other devices?

Aren't you talking about LineageOS 14.1? "Blue light filter" may be Live Display from CM and LOS. not from stock N. Change the resolution? Uhh no that isn't an option on 7.1.1, only overall size and text size. Mostly low level stuff is there like Vulkan, security patches... and Daydream for A2017U and A2017

will official custom roms provide on-screen buttons choice?

and can the coming updates make such a big difference in overall picture quality to shoot as good as Nexus 6P or OP3? since on paper, the Axon's camera is even more powerful than them, hence the problem could be the software's. any ideas?
No one can say right now what the official CM ROM will offer, but yes, on-screen buttons can be added.
As for the camera, I assume you're speaking in regards to low-light performance and if so, the Axon 7 doesn't have a better camera (especially on paper). The A7 has a 1.0 µm pixel size. The OP3 has 1.12 µm and the 6P has 1.55 µm. To boil it down, a larger pixel means more light is collected, which means better low-light performance. Software makes a difference (look at LG and Samsung for examples), but there's only so much you can do within the limitations of the hardware.
If you're referring to performance and including daytime shots, I'm not sure there's a "big difference" to make. In good light, I don't really have a problem with the images the A7 produces. Arguably, more pixels could translate into a sharper image, but I think daytime shots among any of the flagships are just about equal.
Yes, there's room for improvement in the software and processing. ZTE seems to be working on these issues and making improvements, and hopefully those improvements will be shared with the folks working on CM.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Lineage OS (935F)

I would like to ask a general question. Is there any difference between Stock Samsung rom and Lineage rom when it comes to phones features quality? For example, camera, will it still be using same good dual pixel technology? Images will have same quality? Or some of the stock Samsung rom features will be gone? I know that the stock applications will be gone, and that’s a good thing, but I would like to know about the features:
• Samsung fast charging
• Dual pixel camera features
• 24 bit / 192kHz audio
• Wireless charging
• Calls and signal quality
Each Lineage rom has its own enhancements and problems.
It should have a full description of what works / what doesn't. What's included and what isn't.
Rooted devices will encounter Samsung Pay and Android Pay not working.
Tapatalk for Android - Works awesome on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
I have the same questions....if anyone has answers, please share
Fast charge?.... I don't know but charging speed was same with stock rom.
Wireless charge? Works well.
Dual pixel? Maybe. image quality was same when I took a picture with snap camera app
Calls, signal quality: Doesn't have problem with calls, mobile network signal. However, Lineage os need more strong signal to conmect Wifi. But It's just slightly more.
Audio? If you use audio fx and find proper equalizer setting, You'll never consider it.
Actually, Human being can't distinguish 24 bit 192khz.

Badly calibrated display of Huawei M3

With each passing day, I just can't fully enjoy using my Huawei M3, the screen badly calibrated in comparison to my iPhones and Galaxy s7 (In basic mode). I purchased the tablet solely for watching movies and reading comics as it's one of the few tablets that has 16:10 aspect ratio but I can't use it as the colors are very inaccurate . Even the lenovo tablet that I've purchased for less that $80 has far better color that it is. It seems that a lot of colors are off but most importantly is that the gamma is obviously too high.
So my question would be:
1.) Does EMUI 5.0 improves the colors or it stays the same as it was originally?
2.) Is there any way to calibrate the display? I've tried Cf.lumen and it hits the performance quite badly.
Really???
I do not agree, for me the screen is very good

Does any ROM have display mode settings like Lineage's "Dynamic" or "Natural?"

Does any ROM have display mode settings like Lineage's "Dynamic" or "Natural?"
The Axon version of Lineage is conspicuously missing this much needed feature. Even ZTE's crappy stock ROM has a "Gorgeous" setting that livens things up.
Out of the box, the Axon's display looks low color gamut, with anemic colors, worse than most IPS panel.
I'm not looking for accuracy (we all know that the Axon's screen isn't accurate anyway) but deeper colors like an AMOLED display is supposed to have. The Galaxy S panels pop a lot more yet score much, much lower delta values than the Axon, which looks drab AND is inaccurate. At least give me POP if not accuracy.

Trade S10+ for Op 7 Pro?

I want to trade my S10+ for OP 7 Pro.
The following reasons why I want to switch to Oneplus 7 pro are:
1. QHD 6.67" amoled all screen, vibrant big and bright all screen. Nearly as vibrant as Samsung's screen.
2. Camera best Oneplus have produced. Images sharp with good detail, really impressed. Obviously not as good as Samsung's but for me good enough. I'm not a massive picture taker or selfies person. 4k 60fps super stable.
3. Loud dual speakers, again this is top notch. Not as full or rich sound as S10 plus but it's darn close. Another surprise.
4. Triple SSS performance (coin that one) - Super smooth speedy performance. No strutting or freezing experienced as of yet.
5. Near stock firmware with a few Oneplus touches. Love it better then stock android a actually
6. Quick updates to latest Android software.
7. Pop up camera prefer it over the hole in the screen, use it unlock phone as it's a cool feature.
8. That damn 90Hz refresh rate, boy ow boy is it smooth. This has completely spoilt me, it's fluid.
9. Snapdragon cpu which is better than samsung's exynos.
Do you guys think is worth the switch or i should stick with S10?
I switched to the OP7T Pro for a while, here is my take :
1.OP has excellent screen
2.Installed GCam Arnova, amazing results
3. I prefer S10+ with Dolby Atmos, OP lacking bass
4. Triple SSS performance,YEP!
5. One Ui has so much more features, I'm a fan
6. No complaints there, updates are not a priority and S10+ will get android 11 and 12
7. Pop up camera is cool, punch hole is an eyesore
8. 90hz is amazing, that's what I miss the most but I'm ok with WQHD on S10+
9. Samsung's exynos is really well optimized now, I hope android 11 and 12 won't affect it.
I decided to stick with the S10+ for all the features Samsung offers, the list is infinite, great AOD, Dual Bluetooth, Onehand gesture...
OP7T Pro is a great phone, GCam mode is amazing and I miss 90hz screen.

Thanks for your opinion man, is very hard to choose because both got pros and cons.
I too will respond to each of your points and add my own at the end, my mom has a OP7Pro and I have a S10+, so I think I can give a pretty good viewpoint.
1. The color accuracy is amazing with DCIP-3 on OP, but the bigger screen makes it weigh more, so it is a little unwieldly at 6.67.
2. Comparing Google camera on OP to Samsung camera on s10+, s10+ has more detail, but colors are more accurate on OP. Low light and cameras other than the main one are way better on S10+
4. If you are a regular game player, then performance should be on the table but otherwise it is not noticeably different.
5. I am biased towards One UI, I had a pixel before it and I feel S10+ allows me to do much more with its syncing features with windows.
6. India version receives the latest security updates 3 days after pixel receive them, so I don't think this is an issue.
8 & 9 You've said it, can't argue here
I've left a few pointers because I don't have a view on them.
While the OP7pro looks flawless, I feel there are cost cutting measures, for eg., the top speaker grill and the sides of the screen collect much more dust than other phones.
Finally why I didn't go for a OP phone, It is owned by the same company that owns Oppo, OnePlus till now has been able to stave of influence from the chinese government. But given the recent news around the top management, I fear the worst.
Currently I would only go for either Samsung or iPhone (Not personally, it's something I would suggest). If you are in a one of the lucky areas, Sasmung has discounted S20+ to the price of S20FE. So that could be a great option too.
Even i am looking for a one plus 7 pro. The S10+ is superior in every way than the oneplus7pro except for the fact that it has a full screen display. However, no developments so far for the Snapdragon version of s10+ (bootloader unlocking ?). Even the s20 snapdragon edition is starting to get development.
Might be because in order to bootloader unlock a U.S. snapdragon S10, you have to pay for it. I could be wrong but it seems the lack of development is because only like 3 people have had theirs unlocked.
