Hello, i recently purchased another International Variant S7 Edge(F) and I'm curious should i update to nougat out the box or keep on Marshmallow before rooting? I read a few posts and i see some had success with nougat rooting and other's say they didnt have success...i rooted my prior s7 edge on marshmallow with ease before i sold it..Thanks for any advice
Your can root 935F easily on Nougat. But if you are using Xposed you have to stay in MM, it's not yet available in Nougat.

As for now there's no working recovery for mm.
If you're rooted on 6.0 beta but want to go to 6.01, what would be the steps? Ota says modified system. Wild guess: would I need to flash the stock tw mm recovery?
A real nice video. Thank you.
I try it like your steps and your files. But after rooting and flashing the new bootloader again i end up in bootloop
Same here.. Bootloop

Hi would this trip knox

Hello,
Recently I have bought J5 SM-J500F, I searched around for rooting my phone but there didn't seem to be confirmed/safe methods. or some topics were too long so I didn't bother to read.
So I need a method to root my J5 SM-J500F running lollipop 5.1.1. Here is pic of device information.
i.imgur.com Y9rvyVB.png
(replace space with slashe in above address i couldn't post properly due to forum's anti-url spam system)
So I don't care if warranty voids on following conditions
1. If I can restore warranty later by some methods.
2. If I can get official update installed in my phone by some methods (when mobile is rooted) including unrooting mob to get update and rooting it afterwards.
And yes is there any way to update my mobile to marshmallow? People are getting update for their SM-J500F but I won't get it dunno why.
Root is main problem, please provide a confirmed solution, Thanks.

Thanks man. I will try it soon and let you know the results.
PS: Thanks man, I rooted my phone successfully. Didn't try to upgrade OS as it wasn't much necessary. If needed in future I will upgrade. Clicked on Thumbup on your reply.

Try to flash this supersu zip. It will work on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

I have flashed 6.0.1 already any idea? My net is so slow I get 80-120 kbps, I don't want to download firmwares again and again. I am currently downloading stock 5.1.1, If there isn't way to root 6.0.1 I will go back to 5.1.1 and wait for updates. :/
nvm, I tried flashing SuperSu you provided and it worked, thanks a lot man. Now I have a perfect mobile for my needs.
Hi! Is there any solution to root the S7 Edge SM-G935F running Nougat without flashing TWRP?

I'm unsure of Magisk, but I can 100% confirm that cf-autoroot isn't yet viable for Nougat. The most recent version of it will only work for Marshmallow, and trying it with Nougat will soft-brick your device (I learned this the hard way). So cf-autoroot won't work until its devs release a new version for Nougat, sadly.

Totally worth it!
Yesterday i rooted my s7 edge with odin and supersu and today i wanted to install lucky patcher on my phone. After the installation i open it and ky freez then it restarted
I try freedom app and again it happened.
What is wrong here?
Thanks
Don't worry. It happens to most everyone else as well including me. Hopefully soon they'll get it working.
Nougat has security updates so LP and Freedom crashes. MM îs the solution.

Both work fine on Nougat. That being said, this isn't the place for a discussion on piracy.
How did you root in Nougat using SuperSU ??

There are no firmwares that are not rootable as of now. You can't root a snapdragon and run Oreo, but even if you are it is still possible to downfrade to nougat and root

I am on QL1 and can't get root...
I am running through the method in the S8 Root (Snapdragon) | SamPWND thread using the firmware posted. I am going to post in that thread for more details and will see what is said.
