I am waiting for update also for the G955U1.
G955U already has oreo G955USQU2CRB9
me too bro
Did anyone get it yet?
You shouldn't worry a lot about oreo. I've installed it on s7e. Nothing new. I would mich better appreciate samsung to stop smoking and unlock bootloaders rather than bringing same os just with higher number.
me too,waiting...
Oreo
I recive oreo today in my galaxy s8 plus SM-G955U1
Now with cream filling....
Just downloaded Oreo and installed. I had it set to automatically download but it didn't. I decided to check just 30 minutes ago on a whim before this post and it was there.
Yeap, downloaded and here we are. Let's see how it goes.
Do not update android Oreo on SM-G950U1!!
I'm not sure if I am the only one that happens this but after installing the last update on my Samsung Galaxy S8 SM-G950U1 the phone stop working and falls into an infinite bootlooping.
I had to enter into recovery screen to be able to turn off the device.
Then I tried to fix this flashing the phone with the last firmware (the same one of the last update) because I thought that there might be a problem when I was downloading the update and the phone didn't turn on, it continues with the bootloop.
The only solution I found is to download a previous version (I installed the one released on December 2017) and flash the phone with that firmware and the phone works perfect!
It is embarazing that Samsung has released another OTA that briks the phones!
Regards!
On the S8 Oreo (and prior OS) every time I update apps, which is all the time, the updating moves all app data from the SD card back to phone memory. I tested this with Samsung on the phone and they took over my phone and saw my Kindle data (400mb) was on the SD card, then updated the Kindle app and rechecked and the data had all been moved back to internal phone memory. They said an update resets all apps to default and that is normal. Uh, no spending hours a month moving data around is not normal. What is the point of having an SD card if what you put on it doesn't stay on it?
is the SM-950U unlocked for any carrier?
I have a Galaxy S8 SM-950U and using it on T-Mobile.
I tried a foreign SIM card and it said that my device can be unlocked remotely .
1) how do I unlock it?
2) How do I check the lock and unlock the bootloader
3) how I install a ROM (such as Galaxy S9 ROM (with the funny interractive avatars) ?
I got the update in mid feburary i guess
I'd rather have Nougat back, Oreo feels like a concentration camp, not very exciting one.
Hello all,
I purchased Galaxy S8 G950FD 5 months ago from the UAE. Since that time I have not received any update even security update.
I asked Samsung and they said that this version will not receive any update in the Netherlands.
Do you know any way to get the wifi update?
On the other hand, I tried to flash the new software rom by Odin, but I am facing a problem with Odin, it stops at SET PARTITION and does not go on.
Ant solution?

Same issue am currently facing with my S8 SM-G950F. Not a single update(SP) or Oreo since december i bought the phone Brand new from UK and am currently using the Device here in Nigeria. Th last Security Patch update was December 1. Am worried
I never recieved an update to oreo o.t.a having an unlocked s7 edge. I spoke to vodafone who is my network provider who was first to roll out the update and told me the update has been pulled due to there being so many issues with the update. Bit annoyed now as some people seem to have updated with no problems at all and it looks like some of us may not see oreo at all on our devices.

This really looks ridiculous for me, to be honest. My dad has A5 2017 and he received Oreo last week. It's really a shame that flagship S7/S7 edge is facing this poor software update policy. I also saw that Note 8 users still haven't received Oreo. On Samsung Turkey webiste Oreo is listed in testing phase and date of release is set for May 18. I wouldn't be surprised if they delay it again.
They test Oreo on cheaper devices to get less complains. And less financial risk if the update goes wrong.
Also, usually the people that buy flagship devices usually "upgrade" selling those to second hand market. That's why the manufacturers don't update those devices so quickly - to push the "high rollers" to buy the new phones that have the newest bells and whistles.
Yes its been pulled back from the server for now. Can't say how much more delay is there for the worldwide rollout, but chances are near the end of may it will start rolling out again alongwith may security patch globally.
Sent from my S7 Edge using XDA Labs
I myself received the android 8.0 update (sm gt935f - brazil) and honestly i regreted that i did the update.
Now im having a lot of lag and drop in internet connection, both wifi and 4g connection. A lot of times my facebook, instagram and whatsapp are too slow. Youtube also lags a lot while trying to watch videos.
Reallt dont know what to do
And now it will be delayed again, shamesung what happen in the world, from april to mid april, then may to mid may,and now what? From may to forever waiting? Sad life
Thats so weird.Ive updated to oreo through ota almost 2 weeks ago and I had zero problems so far.The phone is smoother faster and I really enjoy the samsung experience ui.Battery life seems to be the same aa nougat though
Could i asked where you are based? Also what network carrier are you on?
on many video, s7 oreo make s7 fly like a unicorn, maybe they purposely delay so u might in the end fall into the trap of buying new phone? LOL

You said that you receveid that, but the G935FXXU2ERD5 is the Oreo from UK: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7-edge/SM-G935F/BTU/download/G935FXXU2ERD5/217550/
You probably had an earlier UK ROM installed to had receveid this new G935FXXU2ERD5.
I thought you were the first to receveid the unbranded Oreo ROM for S7 here in Brazil .

Maybe thats why im having those connections drops/lag? Or they are not related?

Yes, you received the ROM from UK.
It is expected that you have no problem, except the VOLTE that is specified region (you have to have a CSC from the region where the phone will be used).
There is no CSC from Brazil on 8.x yet and I do not know if previous CSC are compatible.

Anyone get official Oreo 8.0 for SM-G935U Unlocked variants? I mean it seems every other carrier is pushing their Oreo already, even the Exynos model ones got Oreo, was there no love for us with USA unlocked models?
I'm waiting for the official update too. Btw have you tried flashing the G935T Oreo firmware? I've tried the G935A firmware and scrolling and overall performance feels unrefined compared to nougat.

I contacted Samsung support and they said there were issues with it, so the developers are going to fix them all before Oreo is released to the SM 935U.

Finally a update . I was beginning to wonder since the S8+s [g955u1] already had 3 unlocked firmware's with Oreo and the S9+s [g965u1] having one. Now the next is to find out what Binary version the unlocked Oreo firmware's will have since Sprints stock Oreo Firmware [g935p] has a Binary 6.
I got one this evening! Still downloading...
I updated my unbranded SM-G935U yesterday, and it has permanently disabled my WiFi! Nothing fixes it, Samsung support refer me to a service center. Tired of Samsung problems tbh. Definately getting Pixel3 when it comes out! Just gotta chug along until then without WiFi -.-

I got the update two days ago. No issues at all.
Flashed the t mobile oreo firmware on july 4th when it came out and then flashed the g935u firmware as soon as it came out. Gotta say I love oreo on this device. it makes the phone so much faster and adds so many great features! ?
Does anyone think it will receive the android 9.0 update as well?

Yes. When I first factory reset it, I did it from inside Android. That did not resolve the WiFi issue. My next step was to reboot into recovery and factory reset the phone that way (format data/chache). Still did not work.
I re-installed Nougat through ODIN, and my WiFi works perfectly. I set my updates to manual this time, and will not update to Oreo. I only have to get by until October, then I can get my Pixel 3.
Thank you for your suggestion.
I had a problem after I installed the oreo. Maybe just a coincidence but after about 30 mins of installing the update, I got the grey lines on the screen. Saw some people had same problems even before the oreo. I tried going back to nougat and it is still there.
I got the update this morning on my S8+ So check your Software Update.
https://9to5google.com/2019/03/29/a...s8-note-8-android-pie-update-rolling-out-now/
Got the new one UI pie update on my S8+ this morning. Finally happening and sooner than I thought AT&T would push the update. Now onto learning some new settings.
I am not seeing any OTA update, I think its because I am on beta version of android pie. Can any one point me how to get back to regular updates from beta ??
I have the SM-G955U, I'm with cricket but its an At&t phone. I don;t think I'm going to get the update.
i live out of usa and have s8 plus g955u att unlocked on oreo - how can i update cuz i cant get it ota ? can anybody help?
Nope
I still haven't gotten the update on my AT&T S8+. I'm not sure what's going on but every time I go to check for the update it just says, "Current software is up to date". I even went as far as backing up my data and doing a complete factory restore and checking for the update and got the same thing. I know there have been some posts on here regarding using ODIN and using the Sprint or T-Mobile versions to update. Is this still the best option and are there any known issues by doing this?
Thanks guys!
I still haven't got the update on my ATT Samsung S8+ Unlocked. I am from the PH. Is there any way to force update the software?
