no one?
Try apk editor.
it changes the name of the apk but at the end the result is the same.....nothing!!!
I tried to install WA+ in my S7(non-edge) phone but I am getting the same error The package conflicts with an existing package by the same name. Since there is no way to uninstall the preinstalled WA, I disabled it but still the same error is there. I have seen people having WA+ in their phones without rooting or deleting the preinstalled version. What should I do?
Bonjour
J'ai le même message d'erreur qui s'affiche. Des que je telecharge les apk samsung sur apkmirror le package est en conflit avec un package du même nom c'est bizarre et je ne sais pas comment faire
Hi, I have the same issue...with apk downloaded from apkmirror....anyone with a solution?
Rename the original apk in /system/priv-app/SecGallery2015/SecGallery2015.apk to something else..(i.e. .bak)
Copy the new apk you downloaded into that same folder/directory and rename to SecGallery2015.apk (change permissions if necessary)
Reboot
Profit
Yeah I have the same problem. I used to update my apps by downloading apks and installing. Now it gives me different errors. Parse error, corrupted file error and same name error. I am not rooted. Does anyone have a solution for that?
Try uninstall the old update

I did it, now I have all my samsung apps up updated. Thanks
Where can i find system/priv-app? Is it need to be rooted?
for non rooted users, the only way to intall updated samsung apps. is to factory reset your phone. remind that it deletes all your data stored on internal memory

How about flashing fonts, aod themes, can i flash it even if i'm not rooted?
Well, this is not a solution, is more likely a work around, I have tested it twice, and it worked, last try was today, and worked flawlessly, but you have to excercise lots of patience, first of all my S7 edge is not rooted, so this solution is the way to go for non-rooted users, here is what I have done:
1.- I have disabled Automatic System Update and Scheduled update under Software updates menu.
2.- (Here comes the patience part) I check manually for system updates, when the system finds an update, it will start downloading it, here you have two options:
A.- Pause the download, or
B.- Wait for the download to finish, but, DO NOT INSTALL IT YET.
3.- Look for the updates you want to install (apkmirror.com for example) download all the updated apk's you wish to install.
4.- Depending on the option you took on step two, unpause the download and Install update, or just install it, if it has already been downloaded, and wait for the system to restart normally.
5.- Once the system restarts, go to Storage settings and clear cache.
6.- After clearing cache, yu will be able to install the updated apk's, for how long you will be able to do it, I do not know, but I have been able to install as much as 15 updates succesfully, I do not know if this installation window is time related or if it is related to a certain number of restarts procedures.
7.- Finally, and this last step is iut of pure caution, restart your device to recovery mode, go to clear cache and accept, then reboot to system.
This is the process that I do in order to apply updates, and it has worked for my.
I hope you find this information useful.
Best regards!

HI All
Different languages on the keyboard
1- Extract 3 files from the zip
2- Copy 3 files to /system/T9DB/
3- Fix the 3 files permissions to -rw-r-r
4- Download language enabler
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wanam&hl=en
5- Open language enabler and enable the languages you need
6-'Reboot'
7- Go to Settings > Languages & Input > Samsung Keyboard settings > Input languages > check the languages you need
thanks to Mohammed Atef
i must have missed something as the newly added languages are not appearing for me.
i did create /system/T9DB with permission of 755 though in order to drop the 3 files where they were supposed to go.

i did carry out factory reset and wipe (format /system ?), it was the only way for me to resolve my google map install issue (shared user id).
Def. did not find T9DB within /system hence had created the dir.
i am guessing that is where i went wrong then, not having the T9DB dir in the first place?

worked with no issues, no reset no wipe nothing. just rooted my tab and followed the instruction. great work thanks a lot.

Ok after testing this for a few days I have found one issue, after reboots the device language is reset to the first available on the Singapore ROM and not staying on English(UK) that it was set to before the reboot.
The input langages are still working as intended though.
Any ideas how to fix? I have unticked all languages but English and Swedish in the Language selector app but it doesn't make any difference besides no longer listing the language it defaulted back to.

Either reflash the rom you are on or extract to files from the rom and transfer them to your phone.
Just reflash the rom it won't wipe anything.
You should ask for this
Ask for the apk to somebody who has the same s.o and phone, it should serve i think , because you didn't a backup of that.
Which baseband version do you have?
Request - need Stock Camera App and advice on reinstalling
I THINK I have a similar problem.. firstly some Phone details
About Phone:
GT-I9505 (rooted) KNOX: 0x1
Android Version: 4.3
Baseband Version:I9505XXUEMK8
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-2082040
Build Number: JSS15J.I9505XXUEMK8
FYI, I HAD to root & install a ROM due to a **** up on a Samsung update that 'broke' my WiFi & Samsung Customer Helpdesk was totally useless in helping me - All they kept saying was 'download KNOX App & install/remove... HOW could I without WiFi ??
I can't remember where I got the ROM from & don't have a copy of it either - so can't really 'reflash' over the existing ROM
[ BTW I ALWAYS though Flashing wipes everything from the phone.. so didn't really want to start from scratch reinstalling everything]
Basically I did the same thing.. deleted the default camera from '/system/apps' (iirc) because I found 'Quickpic' and 'Open Camera' a smaller/better combination (of course I totally forgot to make a backup - stupid I know). However, recently I wanted to add photos to some newly added contacts - but I can't as it seems that I may've mucked up the phone
Here's what happens:
> Open Contacts
> Select the name
> IF I tap the photo box here & select 'Image' or ''Picture by People' I get 'No Pictures are available on the phone"
Otherwise
> IF I tap the pen (edit) icon THEN tap the photo box, followed by 'Image' or ''Picture by People', I get 'Application Not Found' popup message
I'm suspecting it because it's looking for the only App that is 'photo related' that I removed when 'debloating' my phone - ie the default Stock camera/Gallery app
I DON'T know how to 'extract from app a rom' (not even sure where I got the ROM from that I had to flash in the past), so I'm hoping that someone can supply the required files - which, in turn, I'm HOPING all I have to do is copy back into the '/system/app' folder & it'll 'fix' this problem.
I'm sure the experts on here can help in advising on what I can do (if anything)
Any help would be appreciated & thanks in advance

Ok so I just rooted my phone and uninstalled the android music player. I then flashed an older version of the stock android music player which I really like, but the app isn't showing up on my phone. I did the same thing on my old S2 and it worked fine, so I'm not sure what's up.
I've attached the music player zip if that helps. Maybe it's incompatible with an S5?
Also, does anyone know where to get other older versions of the stock android music player?
Did you try to install the music player as a system app......
That is probably the only method that will work......
If you are rooted, you need a root enabled file explorer like ES file explorer or Root Explorer.
You copy your music player app and paste it into.....
system>>app (you have to have RW permissions enabled in the file explorer app)
Then you change the permissions for the music player to rw- r-- r-- and reboot.....
It *should* be 'job done'.......
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
Hi... thanks for your help. I got Root Explorer and copied the zip file into the app folder, then flashed the zip again, but it didn't work. Am I supposed to transfer the zip file or the apk file to that folder?
Also, in the application manager there's something called "multimedia UI service layer", which has the same icon as the stock music player. Should I uninstall this too? Would I need to remove any trace of the stock player to get this one to work?
No....this app cannot be installed in the usual manner (with a package installer) it has to be unzipped to its apk format, then copied/pasted into that folder and it's permissions changed (as described above).....
As for any other apps that *look* like the app you are trying to install (Unless they are called exactly the same thing) it's probably best to leave them alone.
Just remember, you *must* reboot the device in order for the copy/paste/permission change to take effect.....
Edit.....just re read your original post.....
Not sure if it'll work anyway......
Most system apps are framework dependent.....
Meaning that if your preferred music player was built for an older version of Android, it *may not* work if installed into a newer version.....
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
I put the apk file in the app folder and it's showing up in my phone now! Problem is, whenever I start it I get the message "unfortunately music player has stopped". I think I may have messed something up when I uninstalled the stock player because I re-flashed it as well before and got the same message. I think maybe I'll have to do a factory reset, which is ok cause I just got the phone.
I doubt factory resetting will help much in this case.....If you've changed stuff in the system folder, it won't delete what you did and reset things, it'll just perform the reset on what is currently installed....
What you changed will still be there.
Did you change the permissions of the app correctly?
Did you reboot afterwards?
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
Uh oh that sucks. I have the read and write permissions checked, and execute is unchecked. I tried installing it from the app folder and it gives me the message "app not installed".
No fella......you don't install the app at all....
You.....
1) copy/paste the app into the [system>>app] folder.
2) long press on the app until a dialog box opens.
3) select permissions from that dialog box.
4) change app permissions to......
rw- r-- r--
5) Reboot the device.
Job done

and you need to set the permission 'check' marks to the same configuration as in the picture.
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
Yes that's what I did initially, and those are the permissions I have. I thought that after it didn't work that trying to install it might, but it didn't. I think uninstalling the stock player screwed something up.
Or it could simply be that the version of music player is incompatible with the version of Android you have.....
Where to go from here?......
3 options......
1) download your firmware, extract the music player and install it like you've been trying to do with your preferred version....
2) flash the entire firmware again.
3) try a 3rd party music player
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
I ended up re-flashing the stock rom and everything is back to normal. Can't get the old music player to work but oh well. Thanks for your help!

Ok so step by step first my phone is running g900r4 lollipop 5.0 it says it is deodexed using a odex and geodexed scanner so after that I really root my phone install the sd maid scan it using sd maid and it should remove the odex or geodexed file then reboot and begin debating the phone won't that cause issues with the boot time I thought odex was built to help the phone boot faster
The app/system generated odex files will improve overall response time for app startup, but if you have odex files for missing apps, you will see the error messages you are getting.
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
Ah ok so root the phone remove all apps I don't want then run the sd maid and reboot and the messages should go away?
In theory......yes exactly....
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
Now if they do not go away can you point me in a direction where there may be a custom rom without all the bloatware for this phone model and os version
Or should I drop another line in the forum
If the error messages don't stop appearing, I wouldn't talk about flashing a custom rom as a first resort.....
All you really need to do in the first instance would be to flash a custom recovery which will give you a lot more in the way of cache/dalvic/data wipes than stock recovery. These extra types of wipes will, in virtually every case, be enough to correct any issues you might have.
If you're happy with debloated stock, and the only issue you have are the error messages, why go and change the whole OS?.......

After successfully rooted my Huawei p8 lite (ALE-L21) on Android 6.0,
I installed a Substratum Theme called "Pixel UI", but unfortunately, it was for Android 7.0 and above.
I have TWRP but I don't have nandroid backup, nor Titanium Backup, just a HiSuite one.
I tried to wipe cache, nothing.
I tried reflashing the zip files for root
I tried reflashing twrp
I tried Vol Up+Power, opens up Huawei's eRecovery
I tried Vol Down+Power, opens fastboot
I tried Vol Up+Vol Down+Power, opens up TWRP
I tried Vol Up+Vol Down while device off to start reinstalling with UPDATE.APP file in dload folder in SD Card, but nothing happens. Note that it's how I unbricked my non-rooted phone after a failed attempt (using a non-systemless method, silly me)
I'm not very sure what to do now, especially since I can't start reinstalling with UPDATE.APP...
Note that I live in Europe (France), if you have any sort of files to help me that are US, well, it's not for me...
If you take time to help me, I'll be so happy if I successfully unbrick it, and I'll carefully read everything before installing, and never destroy my phone again because of hype (I promise)
