Hi....i am a beginner and dont have much knowledge about these rooting processes. My samsung galaxy E500H is running on android 5.1.1 with build number LMY47X.EH00HXXU1BPL2. I want to root my phone and thus asked for the reqired cf auto root tool in the previous post. Thankfully i got a reply with the link of the appropriate version of the app. Now I want some more help. Can anyone provide me the link of the required version of odin as i dont know which version to use? Moreover i will also be thankfull if you provide me the link to download the samsung usb driver. I also have two questions- can i use any usb cable for flashing the cf auto root file using odin and is internet connection required in pc while flashing the file?
I hope my previous post helped you !
Visit this page it has all links http://techbeasts.com/root-samsung-galaxy-e5-android-511-lollipop-cfautoroot/
this page also has procedure which will help you.
Your answer:
1. Try to use you Samsung original USB cable.
2. No internet required.
NOTE:-Make sure your phone is full charged.
Thank you so much for your reply...but there is one problem - my original usb cable got damaged.??? So will it not work if i use another one? One more thing...in the link you provided there it recomended to download odin version 3.09...should i download that or the latest version. Hope to get a reply soon?

I am using this version, and there is no issue with this version. Why not use this version since they have recommended.
I sometime use USB cable of Samsung Galaxy Core 2 and never faced any issue.

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S GT i9000M Model and I wanna root it so I can have the newest firmware and cool features etc...
I have Odin installed and I know how to make my phone is detected in ODIN via USB (in download mode)
Before going any further and destroying my phone I wanna know some step by step for rooting my phone.
Like , I know nothing of the process... Could someone provide some good recent tutorial with the newest (not Beta) firmware I can get ?
My phone is currently 100% Stock.
Let me know If you have any advices, or good links to provide me...
N/B. Obviously I did some researchs... All I found so far are tutorials that says like : Your phone must be already running X.XX version (which are not supported on the s1) and be Rooted. Nothing really helpful for my stock galaxy.
Thx in advance

Yeah for rooting I think its best to leave someone alone for that, if you can't figure out how to root the phone then you should prob not be messing with it in the first place.
Just read the sticky notes and they are pretty easy to explain how to do it.

I have a M version and i can tell you, it doesnt matter. All canadian models of phones are VERY close to international, so you can use all their guides.
So to root:
1. Download either devil kernel or semaphore .tar file from respective threads. Flash them under PDA in odin, no re-partition. Leave everything else.
2. Your phone will not boot, DONT WORRY. Since recoveries are packaged with the kernel on this phone, all we are after is the custom recovery. We dont need the phone to boot.
3. Download Cyanogenmod 9 nightly/rc2. They are virtually bug free and not beta.
4. Flash it from your custom recovery!
5. Now when you flash cm9, it will change your baseband. You will have horrid signal, so flash back to a KG3 modem. You can find it, there is a big thread. And if the modem says nexus s cm7/9, its okay, it will work.
6. Wipe Data/factory Reset from recovery.
7. Have fun with it

Thanks for the help. I was on cyanogenmod7 mtd and i wanted to convert back to stock rom. My previous computer stopped working so I now access to my old files and I'm not having much luck finding the official roms with bootloaders. I found xxjpu which is a tar. file and I flashed it. Now my phone just bootloop over and over again. I went into stock recovery and did a wipe but still no luck. Could you please upload a stock rom with the bootloader so i could fix the broblem please. Thanks.
Edit- Don't bother I fixed the problem. I flashed Eclair then upgraded to froyo.
Wow, looks like youve netted probably $0.0001 and wasted about 2 minutes of my time with your fake file / silly little ad scheme. You are gonna go far in life , I can tell.
Don't waste your time with this one folks. Mods, please delete this thread.

Bro, we are in 3018, this thread is more than 5 years old.
Hey Guys, Samsung Android USB Driver has the latest version 1.5.65.0 for Windows.
You need the driver only if you are developing on Windows and want to connect a Samsung Android device to your development environment over USB. It also Uses with Odin Flash tool.
Find here Samsung Odin Drivers
Hello everybody, If you trouble with connect a samsung android device to your system, so you can use odin download tool for the better solution.
Hello everyone.
Just received my Note 3 out of box and getting ready to root and try some of the great work available in this section of the forum.
However the fun already stop before it began.
The phone will not connect to Odin.
It connects to the computer/kies just fine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have :
Different comp/usb ports
Updated motherboard usb firmware/drivers
Different cables.
Different downloads for 4,3 and 4,4:
SM-N9005 (International Qualcomm): CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.zip
(only works on 4.4 bootloaders, if you're still on 4.3 use the old version which you can find here: http://d-h.st/J32)
Turned on usb debugging.
Run as Admin ^^
Anyone else encountered these complications?
I would very much like a solution or suggestions to what I can try, even if you did not test it yourselves.
Thanks ! <3

Have you uninstall kies and install samsung usb driver?
Maybe a dumb question, but did you put the phone in downloadmode before connecting to your pc?
Edit: make sure Kies is not running. Disable it also in the system tray on your pc.
And if that doesn't help, you can try another version of Odin, like Odin 3 v1.85 (?)

What did u do wrong?
i had the same problem a few days back.
i tought i was doomed !!!
listen up, this is what you need to do.
download the stock firmware from sammobile.
get your phone in download mode and hook it up with odin, then install the stock firmware, the good news is: You will not lose your apps, settings or files.
Everything remains the way it is.
in my case (i think) is that i tried to root it with a broken USB cable.
the other tought was that i used CF-Autoroot from chainfires website, it shows that its for android 5.01 while i was on 4.4.
at least, i hope you can use my info, please let me know if it helped for you
When it happened to me, i allmost ****ted myself

Thank you very much Racinghart91 . I have managed to fix the problem with Kies.
The main problem was that Kies was not recognizing my phone model, and I found out that the model as to be inserted in Keis with capital letters. With that Kies have found my correct firmware and I have updated it, and now its all good.
And I have a back up of all, ROM and apps . Now I can try another ROOT, and if it failde I have now all the backups I need.
By the way do you guys know any sucessful ROOT for my Phone, I have the Android version 4.4.4
Model : SM-N910F
SSN : N910FGSMH
Another question, should I wait for the next Android update 5.0, or ROOT my Note 4 befor the update?
I have successfully ROOT my wifes Note 3, and Now its much faster tahn my Note 4, in Apps, games all, damn how is that possible ?
Thanks once again.

I have Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SCL22 from au japan.
I have unlocked it before using service mode (*#0011#) when it was on Kitkat 4.4.2.
But after I updated it on Lollipop 5.0 I cannot unlock it using service mode because there is no menu anymore it is just end.
Is there any other code or way to access service mode.
Any other way to sim unlock my phone? THANKS!
Same problem here
Any solution pls
SCL22 on Lollipop
Same problem here, cant access the Service Menu and Can't use any sim in the Philippines.
Please somebody help us.
Probably found a solution in a Japanese forum. Though I haven't understand it fully (with google translate), but it can be something like this.
Do not upgrade the firmware from your phone (If you already did, then you can re-install it again with following procedure).
Instead download the official SCL22 Lollipop firmware from sammobile.com or somewhere else in your PC.
Extract the firmware and add "ServiceModeApp_RIL.apk" in /system/app/ directory. Probably we need to google a bit on how to rebuild a firmware. A starting point can be http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2138885
Then install the firmware using Odin.
After installation, follow the unlock instruction for Kitkat 4.3, which I think you know already. They are also available in the Japanese forum too.
http://www.neko.ne.jp/~freewing/android/au_scl22_galaxy_note3_sim_unlock/
Note: The ServiceModeApp_RIL.apk download link is given in the Japanese forum. Or I think it can be extracted from the Kitkat 4.3 firmware files too. Once I followed this post (http://allthec.blogspot.com/2014/11/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-note-3-scl22.html) to root my SCL22 Kitkat 4.4.2 which is specific to SCL22 only and very easy to follow, this should work for Lollipop 5.0 too, if you are interested to root your device. But rooting the device will not unlock the phone.
I haven't tried it in my phone yet. Can any of you try it and let us know how it goes. Hopefully it will work!
Awesome
Thanks tutul.net, I will try that out.
And the translation is terrible so I'll try with the little japanese I can read:
First Method:
・Using odin flash SCL22KDU2FNF7
・Unlock using the SCL22KDU2FNF7 method
・Dont upgrade past SCL22KDU2FNF7
Second Method:
・Using Odin only flash the SCL22KDU2FNF7 modem
・Extract the old version of the ServiceModeApp_RIL.apk and overwrite the new one (/system/app/ServiceModeApp_RIL.apk)
・Using the Service menu, *#0011#, unlock with the old method
Now that I actually wrote all that out, looks like you were spot on. Thanks again!
I have had a note.3 as a paper weight for about a year now, maybe your advice will finally let me use it.
Also it was kind of biatch to get that apk, so I reupped it somewhere else for convenience hope it helps someone: ServiceModeApp_RL.zip
I'm having trouble with this and it's getting me really frustrated... did you eventually get it to work?
can you just flash the modem? isn't the modem supposed to be .bin file?
if you were able to successfully rebuild the rom with the fix, it would help me greatly if you can upload it somewhere
any help is appreciated
Did anyone manage to do this?
Basically you need a Linux base PC to rebuild a tar.md5
