Hi guys, I'm currently on OxygenOS 3.5.6 and I want to try out HalogenOS but some users have reboot issues on the 3.5.6 modem. Can I flash the 3.1.0 modem in TWRP or will it screw my phone up? Has anyone tried it without any problems?
flash any ROM you like from TWRP, and at the end of all the .zip file you like to flash [gapps, supersu, etc.] flash this one.
then boot your ROM and you are good.
you'll have no VoLTE, but will also experience a randrom reboot-free ROM.

Flash the Oxygen OS 3.1.0 signed flashable zip
Wipe data & caches via TWRP
Flash the TWRP 3.0.2-2 img via TWRP
Reboot recovery via TWRP
Flash the Oxygen OS 3.1.0 signed flashable zip again
Flash one of the modified SuperSU zips
All the files you need are in post #1 of the Oxygen OS mirrors thread.
You can try updating without wiping data but you may well have issues afterwards.

No issues if you wipe data.
It's safe if you follow the instructions.
I'am on Android O DP3 right now with TWRP, Magisk V13 and Franco Kernel R54. I want to change to a 7.1.2 rom, can i do it throught TWRP (wipe, flash a ROM, reboot) or I need to flash the stock 7.1.2 ROM, then reflash TWRP and flash the ROM i want?

You can do a clean flash with twrp, even stock 7.1.2 if you unpack the zip inside the Google factory image zip and flash the *.img files. You can stay at dp3 bootloader and radio.
So I have a problem with the Oneplus 5. I got the xXx Nolimits ROM that's based on OxygenOS 5.1.3 and installed the Magisk xXx Nolimits 4.3 aswell.
I want to upgrade it to 9.0.4, but it won't do it with TWRP 3.2.3-0. Haven't tried it with TWRP 3.3.0.
Could it possibly work, if I go back to full stock and upgrade it via OTA and then flashing it again via TWRP 3.3.0?
The vendor partition is the problem here, I think.
Thanks for any help!

You guessed right. You need to flash stock 5.1.4 OxygenOS (which will create the vendor partition).
Then you can update to 9.0.4/9.0.5(remove the compatibility.zip from the rom files) either with OTA or manually flashing(see official oxygenOS rom threads for 9.0.5)then you can update the twrp to 3.3.x.
After this you can flash XXX magisk mod 4.3 onwards as it's a magisk module.

That's exactly how to do it. Use an Oreo era Codeworkx TWRP to flash a full OOS ROM. You have to have used 5.1.4 to create the Vendor partition so flash that. Let it overwrite TWRP with the stock recovery, and then OTA up to latest OOS. Fastboot flash latest Codeworkx TWRP and you're done.
Uninstall Magisk before you begin.

Exactly this was my plan. Thanks for the help. I struggled with this for literally months!
Hi,
I'm going to use pixel experience rom.
I know that i should update firmware (and maybe vendor) manually.
If i download the stock zip from here: https://en.miui.com/download-360.html#582
and i install it with twrp, it will update the firmware and vendor?
I know the rom will not start because of twrp, but i just install it then install the costum rom back.
I don't want to use firmware update zips, i know it is exist and maybe more painless, but it don't have vendor and modem and so on.
This method will work for me to install stock zip then install costum rom again?
Hi there, user OragngeFox, there is an stable version now, will give u more options and stuff, and yes you gotta download full rom ZIP and flash it prior flashing any custom rom, also remember to flash Vbmeta.img, after flashing full rom and before flash new custom rom
Hi so recently today I was able to successfully flash my stock ROM from Global 11.0.3 to Europe 11.2 (20.3.5).
All works, I have a new and version specific TWRP recovery which solves the decryption issue and such.
Only problem though is I can't seem to update my ROM from the latest Europe 11.2 (20.3.12). I am aware that we cannot install OTA updates like we normally would because we are on a custom recovery. I tried flashing it from the 'choose update package' where it brought me to the TWRP and executed OpenScript to flash, and also tried flashing from TWRP itself. No luck. Bootloop into Redmi Logo and TWRP recovery, so I end up restoring the working Eu version.
An updated tutorial on how to install OTA roms on custom recoveries would really be appreciated, thanks!

IMO, if you want to update by "choose update package'", you should be also on stock recovery, not TWRP (but I'm not using eu weekly ROMs)

You use "xiaomi.eu" custom ROM ; saying "Europe" could be confused with Official EEA ROM. ^^
You can use the Updater app in this custom ROM and update/flash ROM updates.
You don't say if you use Magisk or not. Magisk could be the raison of your issue after flashing new ROM version.
