You can do a clean flash with twrp, even stock 7.1.2 if you unpack the zip inside the Google factory image zip and flash the *.img files. You can stay at dp3 bootloader and radio.

1) Before flashing H2OS, flash this modded TWRP recovery via fastboot. Dowload from http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=20236 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=12587#downloads (watch what you're downloading if you choose the 2nd link) Download 'twrp-3.0.2-2_blu_spark.v41-onyx_by-engstk.img ' only
2) Download the latest build of H2OS from http://download.h2os.com/oneplus_x/m...e3fbec4d56.zip or check www.h2os.com in case the link doesn't work. After you've downloaded the ROM and your desired Gapps package (I suggest SlimZero, best in the world), copy them to your phone's storage
3) Flash to recovery (TWRP in our case)
4) So here's something important; first, choose the downloaded .zip file, but DO NOT flash it yet. You'll see another button saying 'Add another zip'. Tap on that, and then add the Gapps .zip package. Flash 'em up.
ENJOY H2OS <3

I tried.. First the recovery is not flashing with the lollipop bootloader.. Had to flash the mm bootloader from the h2os 2.0 rom. After that I booted in twrp and tried flashing the h2os.. However it remained stuck at patching system unconditionally.. Had to come back to older h2os.
Any idea what went wrong?

twrp-3.0.2-2_blu_spark.v41-onyx_by-engstk.img only works on already installed oxygen community build or h2os 2.0 as far as i know
How do I flash the h2os 2.0 then..i am on lollipop h2os... Can't flash h2os 2.0 through stock oos recovery.. Getting installion failed message
Although I managed to flash the latest twrp by flashing the bootloader from h2os 2.0 zip.. But the the flashing stuck at patching system unconditionally

I think it would be better if you flash the OOS 3.x.x Community Build through OnePlus stock recovery first, before flash the H2OS MM build.
The steps I taken when I installed the OOS 3.x.x are as following:
- Replace the Lolipop TWRP with OP Lolipop stock recovery
- Flash the OOS 3.x.x through OP stock recovery
- Reboot to OOS 3.x.x
- Reboot to Fastboot Mode, from here I flashed the new TWRP v4.1 built for OOS 3.x.x
- Now you can boot to TWRP recovery and flash the H2OS with Gapps from there.

first flash the BluSpark modded TWRP, then flash H2OS v2.0 followed by any Gapps that you like (I suggest SlimZero) using this recovery. Tadaa!

nope, it doesn't matter what you flash first. I have tried flashing both OOS 3 and H2OS 2 using the modded TWRP. They work fine

What problem are you exactly facing? But still I'll say it here, first flash the modded TWRP, then boot into recovery and flash H2OS followed by Gapps

Hey everyone.
I try to install magisk on a European moto g4 (nougat, unlocked bootloader, stock). When I flashed magisk, the phone doesn't start. I can only boot into Fastboot. When I flash the stock boot.img there, the phone starts as normal. How can I flash magisk? Thanks in advance.
Magisk With Nougat
Using Custom ROM or Stock?? Resurrection Remix 5.8.2-20170414 offers magisk in itself.. U must try it out!
If you are in stock, install the ElementalX kernel

You can't install magisk over the stock kernel. You have to flash TWRP first. I recommend twrp 3.1... by oadam11 You'll find it here https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...7-1-1-ground-zero-roms-validus-tesla-t3553036 in the 2. post of the first page.
After that, you can install elementalx-kernel.
Then you're ready to install magisk.
It worked, thanks for the help everyone.
So I have a problem with the Oneplus 5. I got the xXx Nolimits ROM that's based on OxygenOS 5.1.3 and installed the Magisk xXx Nolimits 4.3 aswell.
I want to upgrade it to 9.0.4, but it won't do it with TWRP 3.2.3-0. Haven't tried it with TWRP 3.3.0.
Could it possibly work, if I go back to full stock and upgrade it via OTA and then flashing it again via TWRP 3.3.0?
The vendor partition is the problem here, I think.
Thanks for any help!

You guessed right. You need to flash stock 5.1.4 OxygenOS (which will create the vendor partition).
Then you can update to 9.0.4/9.0.5(remove the compatibility.zip from the rom files) either with OTA or manually flashing(see official oxygenOS rom threads for 9.0.5)then you can update the twrp to 3.3.x.
After this you can flash XXX magisk mod 4.3 onwards as it's a magisk module.

That's exactly how to do it. Use an Oreo era Codeworkx TWRP to flash a full OOS ROM. You have to have used 5.1.4 to create the Vendor partition so flash that. Let it overwrite TWRP with the stock recovery, and then OTA up to latest OOS. Fastboot flash latest Codeworkx TWRP and you're done.
Uninstall Magisk before you begin.

Exactly this was my plan. Thanks for the help. I struggled with this for literally months!
Hey guys,
So I grabbed the latest factory image, patched boot with Magisk, and flashed it to the phone. Works great.
But now I want to use TWRP. I can't figure out how to get TWRP on this device.
It seems there's no recovery partition, so I can't use fastboot flash recovery twrp.img. I know I can flash arter97's kernel, which has TWRP baked-in, but I'm trying to figure out how to do it with the stock-Magisk-patched kernel.
Can someone please hit me with a clue-stick?

get the razer phone 2 arter97 kernel and flash to boot. twrp will be installed.

I'm on the PSMR3-RC002 version. Which version of Arter97 kernel works and is stable? Also, does this effect the Magisk root availability, or do I need to run Magisk patch on Arter's Kernel? I had used R12 in the past, prior to the new Magisk Boot-patch scheme, and also lost TWRP afterwards. I haven't gone and tried to reflash Arter97-R12 since I didn't want to bork anything and couldn't find an definitive answer.

@MoPhoMike,
I use arter kernel v12.0, seems to be as stable as can be, no hiccups or issues with 12 for me and have been running 12 for about a year.
Flash arter kernel to boot "fastboot flash boot arterxxx.img" xxx is for whichever version you flash or how you named the img.
Once the arter kernel is flashed, i then boot into TWRP. Either from bootloader on your phone, select recovery or use fastboot commands.
Then you can flash magisk from TWRP.
.
NOTE, i have some posts where folks say to boot up the phone after flashing arter kernel, then reboot to recovery and flash magisk. I do it the way i noted above and never had issues.
****No need to patch Magisk that I'm aware of****
Hope this helps...
The new version of Magisk doesn't install via recovery, but from Magisk Manager, and in doing so, it patches the boot.img from the app, then reboots, which then removes TWRP. I may just try to flash arter12 and see what happens. It sucks, because I don't have TWRP installed, and therefore can't make a nandroid backup.
Hi, my device is currently without an OS after a full wipe. I have fastboot access and latest 3.6 TWRP recovery.
Can someone please share the link to last updated Android 10 OxygenOS stock ROM and how to flash it?
Also, how can I root via Magisk after installing OOS?

Curious why you want a10? The latest oos is a11. You just flash the zip for oos in twrp. It will replace your recovery so always reflash twrp after if you want it. Magisk can also be installed from twrp.

Wasn't my device so had to go with A10. Was able to install OS, recovery and root using THIS thread.
Thanks for the response anyway!
