Does anyone knows how to get the option to have the flipboard news briefing when swiping to te left from the home screen? Some time ago I had the option to choose from flipboard briefing and upday, now there is only the upday option on/off.
Please help
Maybe the Flipboard app is not included, try installing it from APKmirror.
I have both Flipboard and Flipboard briefing apps downloaded and installed and it make no difference, I can only activate or disable upday

Hey everyone so I just got my one plus 2, its on oxygen os 2.1.0. When I try and add the Google search widget it doesn't show on my screen but if I tap and hold where the widget should be, I get an option to delete the widget. More puzzling is if I tap on the recent apps button I can see the Google search widget. Anyone know what the issue could be?
Very strange. What launcher are you using with your Google widget?
I'm on 2.1 OS and Nova Launcher with no issue.
So, I'm used to the Google Now Launcher, but a day ago it stopped to display all apps, only the apps on the home screens stay there... Google can find the apps and launch them from search, but the All Apps screen is empty or show just some apps.

I then downloaded the "Android M" Launcher, used it a bit, but just now it got the same problem...
Yea, it was My KNOX fault... I removed it to enable debugging, and then the apps are back...

I thought Flipboard was replaced by Upday
I didnt think there was a way to replace it with Flipboard again
(I do prefer Flip to the new Upday news app)
It was replaced but not all countries.
Very true, I have just updated my device with the Netherland latest ROM
(Am in the UK)
And can now see Flipboard instead of Upday
What happens when you try and swipe across after Ticking it to enable it?
Can i just clarify:
Long press Empty area on home screen
Bring the options for the Launcher.
Swipe Left and you see Flipboard, Above it you see a Tickbox next to Briefing (This is enabled correct)
Have you done anything like attempt to replace the system APK
It is not swiping left . Phone not rooted- nothing changed.

I have a stock S7 edge on latest Australian XSA firmware.
I use the Google Now Launcher.
The icon on my page and in the app drawer for the Google Calendar app is a generic app, which is a grid of 4 x 3 grey dots, one green, with the lette OTC at the top. The S Planner app has the same icon.
The icon is also wrong if I use Touch Wiz launcher (for both Google Calendar and S Planner).
I have deleted and uninstalled the app. Via applications manager I have gone to Google Search and cleared the launcher cache, which started the configuration of Now launcher again, but it didn't fix the problem.
Hi, I'm used to Nova launcher, on my previous S7 was possible to add an action which was starting the weather application. On S8 I'm getting message about insufficient right.
Is there any way how to use Samsung weather from Nova launcher?

In short: no.
You can install lookalikes but the original is part of and only for touchwiz.
Why it is working on S7?
That's why i went back to tw... I love the weather widget
1.Go to your weather settings and Select add weather icon to apps screen,
2. download the app xwidget its free,
3. open the app and downlod the s8 widget, add the widget to your home screen
4. click on the widget and Select settings and about
5. Select click Event /open an app / Select the samsung weather app
