Hey everyone so I just got my one plus 2, its on oxygen os 2.1.0. When I try and add the Google search widget it doesn't show on my screen but if I tap and hold where the widget should be, I get an option to delete the widget. More puzzling is if I tap on the recent apps button I can see the Google search widget. Anyone know what the issue could be?
Very strange. What launcher are you using with your Google widget?
I'm on 2.1 OS and Nova Launcher with no issue.

Is there a way of enabling the "long-press search" on the standard lockscreen?
I have the Quickdesk app installed running together with widget locker app, but I've come to throw almost everything I needed in my quickdesk screen so I dont really have use for Widget Locker (besides the long-press feature)
Is this possible?
I'm running Skyraider 3.3.1
I use Launcher pro + and have for a while, but I notice with the google search widget, that it seems to have a bug with the fascinate. Ex; I type a phrase into the google widget and all seems fine, until, I exit the browser from the search I just performed and try to type a new search into the widget. The problem erupts as the widget sticks to the top of the screen and I can no longer type into the search bar, and I have to drag below the widget to pull it to the trashcan. I was just wondering if anybody else has experienced this and if there is a fix? Thanks good Sir's and Madam's... (BTW) I love the forum and the devs here are awesome!
Nevermind guys, I confirmed that it does the same on Droid X earlier today, so I guess I will be emailing the dev...
Dear,
Since i'm experimentating with my homescreen and using different launchers i deleted the button just above my dock to go to all apps. currently i'm using nova launcher and i don't know how i can add the button again.
Quiet irritating as i can't go to all my apps....
U should be able to add a new shortcut to the home screen labeled app drawer and the you can put that back in the original location
Indeed you need to hold the homescreen, the pick widget and there are soms widget of nova launcher included the app drawer! Thx mate!
I was looking in to the settings from nova launcher!

Hi,
I have recently installed iLauncher which has removed the Google search bar widget from the top of the home screen. I am also aware that other launchers like nova can do this.
However, I am still unable to figure out how to remove the same google search bar that appears when I enter the app switcher (recent apps). This app switcher being what appears when you press the right hand side square button at the bottom of the screen on the home screen, where you can close the apps you have running.
I have no clue how to remove the search bar from here and it is very annoying, as it is on the switcher but not on my home screen and I do not want it on either.
I have included screenshots of my home screen and the switcher so you see what I mean.
Thanks.

It depends on the custom ROM you're running, most custom ROM's have their own settings menu to configure options that are usually not found in AOSP. You have to search there and see if there's a menu for recent apps and the option to show or hide search on recent apps should be there.
Xposed and GravityBox is always an option

I am not running a custom ROM though, just stock marshmallow with a different launcher installed.
Is there really no way to remove the search bar from recent apps?
You can do either of the above or request the launcher dev to include it. That's 3 options, just for you.
Nova Launcher allows this to be removed
It looks like I can't add any app specific shortcut on my home screens.
In Firefox, when I click to add a bookmark to the home screen, nothing happens, no shortcut is created.
And on FB messenger the option to add a chat head shortcut to the homescreen doesn't even show up anywmore.
I tried with stock launcher, lawnchair and Nova, same problem.
Did I miss something?
Btw I just bought that G6 and updated to Oreo right out of the box, so I don't know how it was on Nougat.

Ok I guess the apps need to be updated to use the new method.
No one else has that problem?
