Hi Everyone, I have searched for an answer to my problem but cannot find anything.
I have upgraded my G1 to Cyanogen, and everything works fine except I get no notifications to text messages, they just arrive, with nothing to tell me they have arrived.
Another problem is when I call my phone, it rings once and then gives an engaged tone. There is nothing coming up on the phone to say I have a call, however it does put the call in my missed call list...
I have checked GSM call settings but all forwarding is disabled.
I have just upgraded to the latest cyanogenmod with the updater software, however I still have the same problem.
Another thing that doesnt seem to work is the home button, and camera button, and the phone no longer locks.
I am at a loss for what to try, apart from trying to flash the phone back to its original state.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
When you did the update did you wipe first? You can fix your problem, but you need to wipe your phone. So wipe, then reaaply the update. This does happen to people from time to time, and I've yet to see the direct cause or solution. A possibility is something in the dalvik-cache.
Does anyone else have periodic issues where you'll receive a phone call or iniate one and you cannot hear the the person and they can't hear you?
Whats the problem?
Does nobody have this issue?

Yes, this happens when I call my wife but I don't think it's the device
All kidding aside, I have not experienced this issue but to troubleshoot, does this behavior occur when you are calling the same person or with multiple people. Is there just a delay and then say, within 15 seconds or so, you are both able to hold a conversation without issue or must you disconnect the call and phone back. Is the behavior happening when you're calling a land line or another mobile user? If you think this is specific to your device, make sure you have a backup and try doing a factory reset. It's possible you have a minor glitch in the software that's causing some erratic behavior to occur but it's hard to further comment without having you complete some basic troubleshooting steps as indicated above.

It seems to be happening with both landline and cell phones - periodically when sending or receiving a call I can't hear the person and they can't hear me. If I call them back or they call me back it works fine again?
Is this a hardware defect? I've tried taking out the battery, restarting the phone etc.

Have you rooted your device or is it factory? It's possible it could be a hardware issue but I'm leaning more towards the software. I'm going to assume this is happening with multiple calls inbound/outbound and is not a specific instance with a single caller. Leaning more towards a software issue, you have already done a battery pull and rebooted the device and this did not resolve. As an alternative option, ensure you have a backup of your device and do a factory reset:
Settings | General | Backup and Reset | Factory Reset
This should restore the device to factory settings. Test the device now to see if you exhibit the same behavior. If so, I'm assuming it would be hardware related with the software not engaging the hardware properly to handle the call. If so, you have a 1 year manufactures warranty on the device assuming you have not rooted.
Hope this helps!
I'm having same issue worked last night call today no one can hear me. :crying: it's not rooted and 2 days old.
I face similar problem specially in outbound calls
while in inbound calls for the first trial the call fails just 1 sec after I pick up. In the second time it goes normaly.
Any idea ?
Thank you
Still an issue

Was there ever a final resolution to this issue? I am experiencing the same issue.
Inbound or outbound calls are made, connected, but neither side can hear the other.
My phone is factory, not rooted.
I have done a battery pull/reset. That worked in the past. Not as effective anymore.
I have cleared cache through boot recovery. That worked for a wile. Last few times has not worked.
I have done a factory reset. That allowed me to use the phone feature for 3 days!
Any hint as to how to remedy would be amazing!
PLEASE HELP!!
I'm using a Nexus 4 and I'm struggling with an insane issue. if I keep my mobile phone without using for about 2,3 hours when data or WiFi turned on, the phone is loosing signal completely and nothing can bring the signal back again except restarting the phone. Please help me to resolve this problem.
Thanks
What did you do so far? Have you done anything that could have caused this issue?
Flash your latest radio or do a factory reset and look what happes afterwards.

Once I did factory reset from the settings menu and nothing more.
Android version : 4.4.4
build number : KTU84P
can you please tell me how to install stock android again on to my mobile. please send me a proper guide if possible.
Thanks
Now I suggest you to do a factory reset again, since I am sure you havent root your phone or anything like that?
And what do you mean by 'loosing your signal'? When you turn your wifi on your mobile data will be shut off, but you still can receive calls and sms.

Yes I haven't done anything serious to the phone. the problem is once I kept my phone without using for about 2,3 hours with WiFi or MOBILE DATA switched on, the phone goes to the mode "Emergency calls only". that means I'm not receiving any calls or sms and I cannot take calls or send sms.
Anyways I have to reboot the phone to get the phone back alive. all the other functions are working properly when it happens. I think now you got the point?
Thanks

What is your radio version? You can see that in the "settings/about" section.
Android brought out a new radio with 4.4.4
It would be best to flash that, if you haven't already done so. You can find the latest radio version in the "Mako Modem collection", in this same forum. You can see the latest version in my signature.

Hey guys, my wife has a stock Note 3 and every so often this prompt will pop up "unfortunately, the process com.sec.ims.android has stopped" If I hit ok, it will go away for about half a second and then pop up again. I can restart the phone sometimes or have to pull the battery and it won't happen again for about a week, but this is a problem that I need to resolve and I know someone in here has the know-how. I've looked all over the place on the internet, and on this forum but no one else has experienced the same thing, I'm puzzled. Please help, thank you.

Go into settings>General>app manager>All> find contacts and open it then clear cache. If that doesnt help. Clear cache and data. Fixed it for me.

Same thing started happening to me on Friday 11/21/2014 morning.
I've tried:
Clearing cache and data in contacts.
Restarting the phone.
Reset the phone to factory default.
Wipe cache.
In some situations it will work for a call or two and then the same error message again.
Thank You

yea i am curently experiencing the same problem
I tried the same thing and it works as long as i dont restart the phoen. Then it starts all over again. Very frustrating. Does anyone know if what this process does or if you can disable or uninstall this? Maybe thathat would work, as long as it is not something you really need ofcourse. Thanks.
You can try the same thing using titanium back up. that helps sometimes. Just open Titanium backup. locate ur contacts and phone apk. click them and then click clear data. i havnt tried this method but its worth a try. maybe the next time i experience it i will try this as well.

I tried doing that already and same message appears when i restart phone. I was thinking of freezing the com.sec. Ims.android and all ims related using titanium, but wanted to see if anyone knows what these processes are used for.
Question??

If you had any software updates it can cause some problems. I had this problem last year on my Note 4. Try factory reset and set as new device. It should resolve problems.
i'm having something similar problem. mine does n't show/ have any signal. it occurred during a call first. then ok for a few hours. now it's has absolutely no signal. tried different sim/ operator. also tried factory resetting. it does not work. :crying: anyone have any idea.
Maybe i will try factory reset but i think this samsung has many issues
