Hi,
Just happened last night out of nowhere. It say "PHONE LOCKED. Follow the link from the other device for instructions - https://anotepad.com/notes/kbppst
It doesn't let me power off, it says "Unable to turn off device. Device locked via FMM."
Has anyone seen this? How do I reset the phone? I don't have data to save.
thanks

Yikes! It looks like FMM is Samsung's Find My Mobile service, so I wonder if you can sign into your Samsung account somewhere and unlock the phone? Good luck, I hope you can regain access to your phone.

I am waiting for the battery to drain, it won't let me power off for me to start hard reset. Not sure if there is a way to hard reset via odin or some other tool?
I hadn't set up FMM and I can't set it up until I recover the phone. So I will wait for battery to go off and try hard reset.

So it wont even hard reset if you hold vol down and power? You don't have to turn it off first for that - just hold the buttons for like 6 sec and should reboot.

Remember to set up FMM so someone else can't.
I hope the OP has checked to make sure his Samsung account password hasn't been compromised, or they'll just lock it again.
It was actually locked by your phone's system and not a bullcrap app? My son downloaded something that was a 3rd party lock and I got past it by putting it in safe mode.

Is there any simple way to
hard reset your phone. to do that pull the battery, put it back on, and power on your device while holding BOTH THE VOLUME DOWN AND VOLUME UP KEYS. follow the on screen instructions from there and you should be all good!

Do not use a password through the phones stock security. It WILL happen again to you. Its a well known problem, HTC knows as well as T-MO. They havent put out any fixes though. Just beware...
Also out of curiousity... did your password by chance start with "9"? Ive heard a rumor about that being the cause, and Im curious because my phone did this as well and my password began with 9.
Unable to turn it on. totally bricked
So... Are you unable to turn it on due to no fingers?
Lol yea what happened?
Well, we need a bit more info.

1. have you tried "power button" ?
2. have you charged the phone ?
on a bright side, you are the 1st one !
Maybe your battery is loose? Not to mention that bricking a
phone is usually due to screwing up a software flash. So, is brick really the right word?

Try holding down the volume down button as you turn the phone on...see if that does anything.

If you are stuck on the phone to PC screen, you are NOT bricked. During development, I ended up getting into this state a couple times myself. You can still get into download mode in the same fashion.
Connect your phone to USB so you get the phone->PC screen. Press and hold both volume up/down. Then press and also hold Home. Then start pressing and holding power for 2 seconds. After 2 seconds, let go of power. Continue holding volume up, volume down, and home, until you get into download mode.

no, a completely blank screen.
no icon, no GUI, no nothing (
Yeah, weird...I just flashed back to US firmware and now my phone is totally unresponsive to everything. Keep in mind I've flashed back and forth several times...even once thought my phone was bricked because the power button wouldn't even turn the screen on. But after holding the correct buttons it finally booted into download mode. I was even using my phone earlier just fine, and having it run quadrant test of 1700, but as soon as I flashed back to 100% stock US firmware, my phone now no longer boots. Go figure lol.
Though this time I think it has bit the dust for real, lol. So be weary of flashing back to US firmware if you are flashing a lot of different other firmwares. Cuz I think something happens and the key combinations get deleted so it refuses to boot into any mode.

I"m at the phone to pc screen..but the Home button is not a "button" it's a touch sensitive button on my vibrant and it won't go into download mode...
I got here because i flashed the custom kernel to put the market and data on a ext4 partition...and it reversed my volume buttons and reversed the routing of sound..headphone speaker..that stuff....so i couldn't hear anything...so when i went to reflash stock t-mobile firmware it told me not to unplug for like hours..it wasn't doing anything.....i took the battery out and now i'm stuck at phone to pc...i think i might just use the warranty..seeing as u can't do a think with it...atleast i can't that is..i feel like a moron...

Hi! I was Changing ROM From sensation classic 7.6 to sensation black 3.2. Then after i reset the phone and was about to boot it up again, i managed to hit factory reset. My phone was bootlooping, so i set it in download mode and used LG flash tool.I hit the wrong COM so it crashed in the middle of the update and now it is bricked. I managed to **** up my phone 2 times in a row. I cant seriously believe myself. Is there anybody that has the same problem or hopefully a fix on this one? Please, I am desperate!
I WILL DONATE minimum 10 dollars, possibly 20-30 to whoever finds a fix.
Symptoms :
- LG logo in 2-10 seconds then showing black color ( not actually off but black )
- when i plug it in my pc 15 ish hard drives pops up that " needs to be formatted before use ".
- shows as QSHUSB_BULK in usb manager
- no download or recovery mode
I seriously am amazed that i managed to fail twice on this. Sorry for bad english, not my first language..

Make sure the phone is completely powered off. You will need to long press the power button. Best to do this in a darkened room as initially the screen goes black but there is still some backlight. Keep holding the power button until you are sure it's off.
Then use the 2 button combo to get to the factory reset screen.
In my case resetting would bring me back to download mode.
Then connect to flash tool and flash kdz.

Me too. Whatever button combo i use i just get the black screen. Which combo did you use? If i use vol down and power the black screen doesnt come up, it just restarts instead.
Volume plus power down. It's really important that the phone is powered off properly. You can check by plugging to charger, if its powered off you will get the battery icon.

You really do have to hold the power button for a long time. It can be quite difficult to see if it truly is off because it's displaying a black screen, that's why I suggested a darkened room.

If you, no matter where you are at on your Note 4, even works in Download mode, if you hold down the power button and the volume down button and keep it there, your phone will reboot, keep holding it until you see this new screen I have never seen before.
It's called the Maintenance Boot Menu !!
You can boot into Safe mode and factory reset, etc.. It is Not the recovery menu or obviously download mode..
Cool huh ??
Wonder if there is anything we can gain from this ??

Not that I could find. If you hold volume up button, power, and home button it will take you to factory recovery where you can wipe cache.
I also noticed that if you hold the return/back button, you basically get the edge's side curve without the curve xD I'm sure people knew this already, but I found out by accident last night haha
That feature might be bad if the device gets stolen though x:
Edit: is just shortcuts though d:
Safe mode basically disables all installed apps so if you are having a problem you can determine if it something you installed or not.

I could do it and try to figure it out but to save a needless reboot...I did what's quoted below a couple times to clean the cache. I am wondering what the OP's thing is besides less of what's below? I think I did the OP's thing once when I forgot the home button in the process below and I think all I saw was no clear cache option but most of the rest of what's below.

Yes. T-Mobile
I went to see what they could do and now I feel stupid. lol
There is a "hard reset" that can be done on the phone. Hold the "power button" and "volume down". This did get it to force reset (gentleman at T-mobile said it same as pulling battery). Does not wipe device, as it didn't wipe mine. It just got it to continue to install the update it was in the process of doing.
This worked for me but I think you have a bigger issue if you can't get that to work.

Hold down power button just turn off your phone. I think you should try that and open your phone again, wait for 15 mins.
About LG bridge, you need change your phone into media transfer (MTP) something for it to recognize, charge only doesn't work.
