I just did an update and the phone is now locked at the "LG Life's Good" start up screen.
Anyone else?
And since the battery is not replaceable. Can't just remove battery to get it to start up again to see if it will.

Long press on the power button for a while, the device will be reset. However, you need wait for a while, maybe the update need some times.

It's been stuck for over an hour now and of course I first tried the "hold the power button"
Hmm, Me too, T-Mobile variant ?
My device said it had a update this morning, I said apply then came back a hour later before I touched it.
I tried wiping the device, (hold vol down + power, when you see LG splash screen momentarily release power) but the device still wont boot. Stuck on LG screen, then flashes to "your device is corrupt" screen, then back to the LG screen.

Try the LG Bridge, there's a recovey option in update section, it may help. But it also hard reset your device.

Thanks, I thought holding down vol-down and power was hard reset?
Unfortunately LG Bridge does not see the device. I was able to perform a factory reset, but the device still wont boot. I think it may be time to return it.

Yes. T-Mobile
I went to see what they could do and now I feel stupid. lol
There is a "hard reset" that can be done on the phone. Hold the "power button" and "volume down". This did get it to force reset (gentleman at T-mobile said it same as pulling battery). Does not wipe device, as it didn't wipe mine. It just got it to continue to install the update it was in the process of doing.
This worked for me but I think you have a bigger issue if you can't get that to work.

Do you have warranty on phone? If so (and nothing broke. ie: camera glass, like mine is) they will replace it.

Hold down power button just turn off your phone. I think you should try that and open your phone again, wait for 15 mins.
About LG bridge, you need change your phone into media transfer (MTP) something for it to recognize, charge only doesn't work.

Maybe your battery is loose? Not to mention that bricking a
phone is usually due to screwing up a software flash. So, is brick really the right word?

If you are stuck on the phone to PC screen, you are NOT bricked. During development, I ended up getting into this state a couple times myself. You can still get into download mode in the same fashion.
Connect your phone to USB so you get the phone->PC screen. Press and hold both volume up/down. Then press and also hold Home. Then start pressing and holding power for 2 seconds. After 2 seconds, let go of power. Continue holding volume up, volume down, and home, until you get into download mode.

Yeah, weird...I just flashed back to US firmware and now my phone is totally unresponsive to everything. Keep in mind I've flashed back and forth several times...even once thought my phone was bricked because the power button wouldn't even turn the screen on. But after holding the correct buttons it finally booted into download mode. I was even using my phone earlier just fine, and having it run quadrant test of 1700, but as soon as I flashed back to 100% stock US firmware, my phone now no longer boots. Go figure lol.
Though this time I think it has bit the dust for real, lol. So be weary of flashing back to US firmware if you are flashing a lot of different other firmwares. Cuz I think something happens and the key combinations get deleted so it refuses to boot into any mode.

I got here because i flashed the custom kernel to put the market and data on a ext4 partition...and it reversed my volume buttons and reversed the routing of sound..headphone speaker..that stuff....so i couldn't hear anything...so when i went to reflash stock t-mobile firmware it told me not to unplug for like hours..it wasn't doing anything.....i took the battery out and now i'm stuck at phone to pc...i think i might just use the warranty..seeing as u can't do a think with it...atleast i can't that is..i feel like a moron...

Define "forever". Because forever usually means an infinite amount of time.
Usually rebooting while it is at that screen is a HUGE no no.
it may have been your fault.. it gets into a boot screen and takes almost 5 minutes u may have been impatient

It's not bricked. .m having theme problem. When you press power again hold down volume and power and top left you'll see some white letters don't press anything and it will say press up or down. Do not press the button to wipe. I can't remember if it was up or down. Let everyone know if that works.
Find the thread to flash it with nvflash. Just flash the stock ROM onto it and you'll be set.
Okay after lots of trial and error I manage to get into APX.

Just hold the power button down until the TF shuts off and goes black screen...then turn it back on.
IF that does nothing, re-NV flash....I had to do mine 3 times before it took last night. (download a fresh copy of NV flash also...the one that's "prepackaged with a stock rom" in it.
Well, I finally bricked my first phone since starting with the Dream way back when.
I was flashing different boot animations on this D800 and came across one supposedly for T-Mobile. I had unlocked the phone, and changed from AT&T to TMO, so I thought it'd be appropriate. Boy was I wrong.
As soon as TWRP flashed that ZIP and rebooted, the screen went black. No LG logo. No animation, no sound, no nothing. So I looked into the ZIP file I downloaded (from somewhere on XDA, I'll have to find the thread) and it looks like a full TMO ROM. Great!
Now I can't even turn off the phone. I can see the backlight on the (black) screen, and when I press and hold power, it restarts after 10 seconds, but then comes back on. Something else strange is that a drive F: shows up on my PC, with about 70 MB of various files. Then there are about 10 other volumes, G: through T:, but they are empty.
Now what?

The multiple drives is good, you can resolve this. In not near my computer now but try looking for a thread about no recovery no download mode etc, in that thread it is suggested to connect phone with usb while running ubuntu.
I used that thread to revive my phone after a bad flash.
Keep in mind that the files mentioned there are maybe not for your model so you will have to find the correct files.

Well, I don't think this was a boot animation, even though it was advertised as such. I wasn't thinking, because I know better than to accept a 798MB file as being just animation, no matter how elaborate. I mean, I've been doing this since 2008, but I flashed it anyway. Only after it blew up in my face did I look inside the ZIP and see all the stuff you'd have for a full-blown ROM. Ugh.
In any event, I don't have any adb shell or devices or anything when it boots, just those weird drives.
The real kicker is. this is my 2nd G2 -- the first one having gone into some kind of CPU thermal runaway. I had to send it to Samsung in TX and they replaced the system board. So I've "used" this phone, which I first bought December 5th, for only about 3 weeks total at this point.

I eventually figured out that I can get it to turn it off, by continuing to hold the power button, At first it will reboot, but after a few more seconds it turns it off. Or what looks like off -- nothing is ever drawn on the screen at this point, not even the LG logo. So I basically have to hold the phone up to my eye and watch for the backlight to be on or off.
I also left it "off" overnight, but it didn't help.

Have you tried while it's powered off to turn it on and plugging in the usb cable(connected to pc of course) to see if it enters download mode(just incase I myself have never been able to access download mode using the button combination on the g2), if it enters download mode all you would need is the LG flash tool and a tot of the d800 to get back to stock?

Yeah, I was going to mention this. Once you have it completely powered down, hold volume up and plug it into your pc. That should throw you into download mode where you can restore through lg flashtool.
Alternatively, while powered down completely, you can attempt to boot into recovery by pressing and holding volume down and power, hopefully the lg logo will appear again, and you can release and press both again. I've been in situations where it took me a bit, meaning multiple tries and a few dirty pairs of underwear, to get it to work. But it eventually did. Admittedly, none of these instances occurred after flashing a rom for a different device, so your mileage may vary.
Hi! I was Changing ROM From sensation classic 7.6 to sensation black 3.2. Then after i reset the phone and was about to boot it up again, i managed to hit factory reset. Make sure the phone is completely powered off. You will need to long press the power button. Best to do this in a darkened room as initially the screen goes black but there is still some backlight. Keep holding the power button until you are sure it's off.
Then use the 2 button combo to get to the factory reset screen.
In my case resetting would bring me back to download mode.
Then connect to flash tool and flash kdz.

Volume plus power down. It's really important that the phone is powered off properly. You can check by plugging to charger, if its powered off you will get the battery icon.

i cant get the battery icon, also my phone wont turn off without it turning back on
You really do have to hold the power button for a long time. It can be quite difficult to see if it truly is off because it's displaying a black screen, that's why I suggested a darkened room.

Hello i have recently tried to return my phone from cyanogenmod into the stock rom using this thread: "https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/general/guide-return-to-stock-relock-bootloader-t3489110" and my phone got stuck in the process while making the command "fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img". And now my device is stuck on boot loop showing the cyanogenmod loading screen.
Anyway now i found a way to get to stock but for that i need to get my device into fastboot. THE PROBLEM IS that my device can't get now into fastboot! i have tried using adb commands but the adb doesn't recognize the device. I have tried fastboot commands but again it doesn't recognize the device. I also tried button combinations, but it didn't work.
Until the incidence i have used to press the power button+ vol down keys to get into fastboot mode, but now it doesn't work. I suspect that it doesn't work since in order to get into fastboot with the button combination i need to first get the device turned off. But when i connect my device to the charger it shows the battery charging screen and the device is stuck on that screen even if it has disconnected from the charger, and it will keep on that screen until the battery has depleted. I have tried shutting it down using the power button but then my phone gets into a loop with the cyanogenmod loading screen, and even if i turn it off it restarts instead.
p.s I have used to think that my fastboot was deleted but on an other thread i have been told that as long as i see the cyanogenmod loading screen of the OS that means i have a boot-loader.
Please help!
I want to get into Fastboot on my Moto Pure.
Thanks a lot
Eden.
Power down 1st
Try volume down & power key together. That will get you into fastboot directly.
Oops just seen that, my bad, I wont respond anymore.

Np thanks for responding!
Anyone got an idea?
u cant poweroff does that means your phone is continuously bootlooping or its just booting but takes a hell lotta time to boot up?

I think @edenah is saying it just gets stuck at the loading screen. If the battery discharges all the way and the device is plugged in, the battery symbol shows and after the charger is unplugged, the battery charging doesn't go away until the battery dies again or the power button is pressed (which leaves us right back to where we started)

Try this:
Hold power button for 10-20 sek, when screen will turn off hold only vol-(at bootloop screen).
You should flash stock without "oem" commands.
Find how to update bootloader.

:/
It recognizes it as portable usb device.
And well. I have bought the device in the us but i live outside of the US. so its bit problematic to return it now. Some help could do the trick!
I found SP flash tool and i believe it would do the trick. But i need to get the scatter loading file of the moto pure, but i can't find it anywhere, maybe anyone got the idea how to get that?

We haven't been able to get the QLoad files for most Moto devices, at least not for the last 2-3 years... Sorry.
Well i have found a way to get the device charged while the screen is off!
If i connect it to my computer while pressing the power button and the vol down button and keep pressing it, the device stays turned off!
Now i'm trying to play with it, to turn the bootloader. so far the classical power and vol combo doesn't work.

I am stuck. No button combination works. I suspect that the device isn't really off but the display is just closed. As even to open up the device takes a reallly long press on the power button.
if it got interrupted while flashing bootloader, you're pretty much not going to be able to do anything.
motorola service center is likely the only place that can fix it.
sorry for your luck.

Lost cause? No, probably not... Do you know anyone in the US you trust well enough to receive the phone from repair and ship it to you where ever you are? I believe that is all you need. The US service center cannot ship outside of North America (maybe US), but they can receive packages from anywhere. If you had a US contact that could receive the device and forward it on to you it might be worth it to get it fixed if it is still under warranty, if it isn't, then it might not be worth fixing. Lots of things to consider here.
