New contact keep staying in "Local" and not sync to my Google account.
When I sync from "Setting > Account > ", it shows "Synced", but contact not actually there.
"Google Contact Sync" also has "Contact permission".
Can anyone help please?
Edit: new contact save to "[email protected]_local.com" - is this a spy or something?

When you create a new contact, at the top there is a drop down selection... It lets you choose: Google / Phone / SIM
Make sure "Google" is chosen. I was doing the same thing a few weeks ago after I upgraded and couldn't find any of my new contacts, then realized I was saving them to my SIM by default, and I had 7 new SIM contacts. I edited them and moved them to "Google" and they are now sync'd with my Google account.
So true. It's really hard to see it on top of the "Name"

Hi
I have 2 Google Apps accounts (one personal and one work)
From what I can tell, you can only sign in with one account into Android and to access the other Mail i will have to use IMAP. Fair enough, i can live with that. But i'm not sure i can live without both cals or google talk on both (or any other aspects which I have yet to check on, such as lattitude, although I cant actually find latitude on my maps app.)
Is there a way of
* syncing more than 1 calendar?
* logging into more than one account in google talk (IM app or others) as when you access the IM prog it brings up a page which looks like it should list all of the accounts you want to access... which, if you cant access more than 1, is a little pointless from what i can make out.
I dont suppose cupcake makes any of this possible does it?
cheers
Hi,
I know that the calendars can be done.
I have several google and apps accounts.
The account you use as the primary needs
to be given FULL access to the other calendar.
Go to the secondary account and do the sharing
and access stuff. I had to dig around a little for
the right procedure in the google help forums. Once
your primary user can edit events on the web for the
secondary calendar then all should be well. Remember
to color code them. I am currently working with three
calendars. They all will show up as one and color coded.
You can't open separate instances for each calendar.
When you add an event on your phone you get a dropdown
to choose which calendar to add it to.
K9 Mail (free app on the Market) is an excellent client that supports multiple IMAP/POP3 accounts.
For calendar sync, it's a little more trickier. You need to share your 2nd calendar with your main one by doing the following:
Sign into Google with your 2nd account.
Go to Calendar, and click on Settings link (top right corner)
On the Calendar Settings page go to "Calendars" tab.
Click the "Share this calendar" link.
Under the "Share with specific people" section, enter the e-mail address of your primary account, select "Make changes AND manage sharing" permission setting, click the "Add Person button, and finally click the "Save" button.
Log out of Google.
Sign into Google with your primary account and go to Calendars.
Go to Settings and verify that the calendar from your 2nd account is now listed under "My Calendars" section.
On your G1 open the Calendar app
Press the Menu button, select "More" and then "My calendars" option.
Press the Menu button again and select "Add calendars" option. This should sync up and present you a list with your 2nd account's calendar.
Select it, save and exit the Calendar app.
Repeat steps 1 through 12 for adding more calendars from your other accounts.
You're done.
I still haven't found a way to sync contacts from multiple gmail accounts. Maybe there's an app for that?
har har har everything works except this hmm. How bout adding all your work contacts to your regular account and make it into a group named "work". That way they don't mix or you can pull up fast.

That work-around is a one-way sync though. Time to put in a feature request at Android Google Code group.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but it's not a dev or an app thing.
So...
I use google account to sync with Contacts, Calendar. Everything working fine. Spent a few minutes to transfer my contacts from my X1 to Gmail and then sync them to my Magic. When I add a new calendar event or a new contact through web to my Google Account it get nothing but a few seconds to come up to my Magic.
When I add a calendar event using my phone, same thing. From phone to Google Calendar in seconds. Well, that doesn't happen with contacts tho.
I've tried it a few times, leaving a fulll 24 hour period to see if my contact gets from phone to google contacts. Of course, I store a contact as "google" type.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
PS : I use CM with bcrook's kernel patch for 32A devices. I'm not sure if that helps somehow but I just want to be sure.
Same here. changes to my contact list on my phone aren't getting back to my contact list in gmail.
Hi, they are but you have to go into contacts in your gmail account and they should be in All Contacts not the tab which says "All Contacts"

nope. they're not there either
When I add contacts to my address book, I can not find them afterward.
I know they are there because when the contact calls me the phone recognizes the caller but if I browse through the contacts list I can only see my old SIM contacts that I had on my SIM card before I got the N1 and contacts from my GMail account.
What am I doing wrong?
Have you got some filters on?
Go to settings in the contacts app and check
When I open contacts, I click the touch button that looks like a few horizontal lines. I select Display options and it takes me to a new page that has my gmail account. In there the first option "System Group" is the only one selected.
Are those the filters that you refer to?
contact>> display option >> gmail accounts >> check all the checkbox
it should be appear now..
Hi all.. Don't know if I've done something wrong (!).. but the contacts on my wife's Legend aren't syncing with Googlemail.... The phone is set up with the account, and the sync looks like it works on the phone, but when I log on to google there are no contacts..!! Help!
Her contacts are probably set as 'Phone Contacts' not as 'Google Contacts'. If you go into the People Application and look to the right of the contact name, it should say 'Google'.
Fix
Try and log out of facebook in settings/account and sync/facebook for HTC Sense, and then reboot and then log in again.
worked for me

I have the same problem. In fact i has have some "google" contact Sync with Google and other "phone" linked with but not sync.
Is there a way to change the phone contacts in google contacts without re-insert them?
I searched for a tool a while back to do just that but didn't find one. As I had only half a dozen 'phone contacts' in over 450 'google contacts', I ended up erasing and putting them back manually via google.com/contacts
Ended up backing them up to the SD card, factory reset the phone and then re-imported them back into google, instead of the phone. PITA.. but had to be done..
Not sure if this is a lollipop issue, or if I just did not notice it in kit-kat, but, I went to create a contact on my phone the other day, and I always save them to my google account. When I saved the contact, It did not show up on the google web site as I expected it to. So I started to trouble shoot, and found the contact was saved to my phone. OK I did a factory reset on my phone shortly after the OTA upgrade, at which point i forgot to set my google account as the default to save contacts. Upon going to the contacts settings, under accounts, there is no google option. If i hit add I get Facebook, Exchange, or LDAP, no google option. If I got to the phone settings, goto accounts, google, and click my google account, there is no option to Synd Contacts, just sync people data??? Also if I go to my contacts app, create a new contact and change were it saves to, I only have Phone and Exchange Active Sync as options. What happen to saving to Google, am i missing something?? Anythoughts ??
