Can anyone please provide A2017 Chinese stock recovery? - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

I installed TWRP and didn't realize that I will not be able to install the Official update.zip from it
Could anybody please provide the stock recovery for the Chinese B13 version? (Not sure if the B13 makes any difference)
Thank you!

I don't have stock recovery but you can back to stock recovery by:
Wipe and flash B10 by DrakenFX . After flash, it will return to stock recovery by default

Thank you!

here's a twrp flashable b13 bootstack from djkuz.

Revert to Stock Recovery

Hello,
I see my Moto G4 has a System update today, but I have installed a custom Recovery (TeamWin), how do I go back to stock recovery, so I can install the update.
Thanks,
Shannon
You need the stock recovery.img. You can get it downloading the same ROM your device is running. After that, start your device in fastboot mode, copy the recovery.img that came with the ROM that you downloaded before and paste inside ABD folder and finally write this command in CMD:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Done!

You've got a couple of options:
1a) Download a stock recovery from shrep's site https://moto.shreps.fr/?dir=Moto G4 (athene)/recovery Try to ensure the recovery you download matches your region's build number (MPJ24.139-23.4 and MPJ24.139-63 are MM recoveries, I think for EMEA regions and maybe for India too for 139-63, whereas NPJ25.75-2 is a Nougat soak test recovery).
1b)Flash in TWRP (I recall in TWRP, under Install, there's an option to flash images and you'll want to flash this as a recovery image.) Reboot to recovery to ensure the stock recovery doesn't get overwritten.
2) If you're not sure whether the recoveries on shrep's site are suitable for your device/region, you may wish to directly upgrade to Nougat using the fastboot 93-14 Nougat ROM file here:https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/moto-g4-plus-xt1640-43-athene-npj25-93-t3549369 This will flash a stock Nougat ROM, v7.0, Dec 2016 security patch, which appears to be the current global build deployed (and likely would be the same build as if you updated via OTA). Of course, this process may erase your data so back up, and will remove TWRP as it'll flash a stock recovery onto your device.

ZE552KL need stock recovery for ASUS_Z012D-WW-14.2020.1703.28

Hello,
My device is an Asus Zenfone 3 ZE552KL with TWRP 3.1.0.
I need the original stock recovery for ASUS_Z012D-WW-14.2020.1703.28 (Android N).
Is it possible to build it from the firmware?
Otherwise, where can I find it?
Thank you in advance for your help.
nobody can help me
Are you running on 1703.28 currently?
Do a TWRP backup and then dirty flash the stock image on top, it shouldn't change any data or settings but will replace recovery (happened to me when I updated from 1701).
I'm curious, why do you want to go back to stock recovery? I'll never go back, lol
Edit: if anyone with the stock 1703.28 firmware and root can run an adb shell and make a backup of it using " dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p59 of=/sdcard/recovery.bin" and upload it.
I am currently rooted and to install the latest firmware stock, I have to do it from stock recovery because it does not work from TWRP.
After that, I will reinstall TRWP
The stock recovery can be downloaded from asus site :
https://www.asus.com/fr/Phone/ZenFone-3-ZE552KL/HelpDesk_Download/
Or direct download link : (1.8 Gb)
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/ZenFone/ZE552KL/UL-ASUS_Z012D-WW-14.2020.1703.28-user.zip
@olivierzx
This is the full firmware, but stock recovery is not available.
Unless you know a way to build it from the firmware.

You do not need stock recovery to install the stock rom.
Just edit the update script, see this

Flash-able Zip for Latest MiFavor 5 for A2017

Anyone can give a link for a flashable zip for the latest rom for the ZTE Axon A2017 (chinese) variant. Greatly appreciated.

why do you want a flashable zip? If you have an A2017 you can simply flash a stock recovery then put the official ROM on an SD card and install it (there's an option that says 'sd' between the Chinese ideograms) and you'll have OTA support (B08 just came some days ago).
If you still want the zip I guess you can use the one on Kernels, ROMs, Recoveries (something about MiFavor 5). Keep in mind that the dev deleted the stock browser and you don't have Play stuff unless you install it, AND you need to format data to get rid of the encryption which wipes out your internal storage, so you'd need to sideload a browser with your PC. And after that you can install the google stuff. OpenGApps don't work, you need a manual install / with an app.

Thanks for the heads up, do you have the link to the stock recovery for the device and the rom for the A2017. I am sort of new to this.

I have the G - only have the link to the G recovery. But there should be a flashable stock recovery for the A2017 around, just google some. Be REALLY careful with the model though, nasty things might happen if you install another model's recovery!
If you find the flashable zip file can you send the link to me? I will add it to my guide if you find it, hopefully make it compatible with the Chinese.
They will put the download link in this link below soon. And if you are already on A2017V1.1.0B17, you can get A2017V2.0.0B08(MiFavor 5.0) through OTA. What version are you right now?

Actually using a custom rom. I can just flash the zip and I will be back to stock?

So flash B17 zip through recovery. and you get B08(MiFavor 5) through OTA. If it gives you error flashing B17 , then download B13 from that link and try if it works

You can't flash the official zip with TWRP though, you need the TWRP flashable ones. Just saying
Or use the custom B06 ROM and be done with it, it has no bugs

b25 Update

I have a new (3 day) that updated to b25. Was and is totally stock. Not happy.
Mar was way better on battery and performance. I have downloaded and renamed
b15 factory ota and placed in the sdcard. System update reports a valid update but before I
commit to doing this I wanted to verify with the community that it is safe to do.
After I do this update I am wondering if I can find a factory ota of mar if I can do the same thing again.
Thanks in advance

It's really simple actually: if you install B15 your data will be wiped, after that just skip everything and update to B29 (is B29 the latest? I have a G, dunno) and then use it. What you describe is not the actual performance that it should have, it's your specific case obviously.
I know what you want to do - if you want to remain TOTALLY STOCK I think you are out of options as I don't know anywhere that you can still download the stock ZTE B29 marshmallow. If you are willing to unlock your bootloader and install TWRP then somewhere in here DrakenFX has a B29 rollback that works great - it just won't work with stock recovery

All I really want is to remain stock but rooted and with TWRP for recovery for Nandroid backups. The B25 will not let me unlock the bootloader with Fastboot and when running MiFlash the phone is visible but getting "Hello packet error" I have read another method with fastboot but have not tried it yet (below). Somewhere I read that B25 was the problem and you had to downgrade and the MiFlash method was recommended.
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot reboot
I did everything but the first entry.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Go ahead with your rollback to B15 - that will let you unlock and install TWRP. Once you have TWRP go to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/rom-guide-updates-to-stock-files-via-t3469484 and in post #2 you will find A2017UV1.0.0B29_RollBackModded.zip. Flash that, then flash TWRP again (you have to flash TWRP again ONLY if you want to keep TWRP as this flash file will automatically reinstall stock recovery). Also note on B29 I had to use SuperSU 2.65 (not the current one) for root.

By the system update.zip method?
Thanks
Also I would be happy to stay at b15 with TWRP and root.

Wait - you wanted to stay stock? You didn't actually have to unlock if you wanted to. Just by using the update.zip method with some Marshmallow zip you could get to MM, and then you can update to N and you surely won't get the same problems that you've been having...
For example my G is on 7.1.1 and I get 6h+ of battery (right now, 3h36m with 41% left) so your problem is just that your installation was bad. If you unlocked you might as well just do the process that the guy above described though.

OK on the A2017U units you need the official marshmallow B29 package to roll back, and that only works with stock recovery on a clean B15 N install. The Rollback package I told you to use earlier will roll you back to B29 marshmallow NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE USING (I have used this a lot, and OBVIOUSLY there are differences between the the A2017U version in North America and the A2017G version in Europe). If you want stock and rooted, I personally recommend B29 marshmallow over B15 Nougat, but either way go for it (I think the marshmallow had a much better radio than any of the Nougat packages). If you are interested in TWRP and root, I found B29 marshmallow much easier for both, and the marshmallow version of android also gives you Xposed, but back to your first post, you mentioned wanting marshmallow, and this is the best way to get it.
Step by Step method
1. Roll back to B15. Use the update.zip method. It will factory reset your device so backup everything you can't lose
2. Use MiFlash to unlock and install TWRP - check that thread on XDA for instructions.
3. (If desired) In TWRP, install the B29 marshmallow rollback. Do not reboot into system afterwards.
4. (If step 3 is done) In TWRP, flash TWRP. The marshmallow rollback will overwrite recovery with stock recovery
If you do this you will have exactly what you wanted in your original post. I can personally tell you this works, as I have tried every custom rom on here and always wind up back at B29 marshmallow when all is said and done. It has never failed me, and it will never fail you either.

OREO original recovery

Does someone have the original recovery for OREO?
I have TWRP and Magisk Installed and cannot install OTA or FULL-OTA with twrp.
I need the stock recovery for OREO.
I would appreciate if someone can share it.
eRecovery doesn't work for me and I don't want to format the device again (I already bricked it once and don't want to play with HWOTA - testpoint method was needed to get it back to life)
I've extracted the recovery myself
Here is a link for the stock recovery extracted from VKY-L29 8.0.0.365 firmware (for the C432) variant):
http://www.mediafire.com/file/dy4m97771qz6m7z/RECOVERY_RAMDISKB365.img
You can flash the .img file using TWRP (flash it over the recovery partition) - not tested with fastboot.
I was able to update to the last version using the FULL-OTA-PV file and my bootloader is still unlocked, then I flashed twrp, installed magisk and then again flashed the stock recovery for future updates.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

It should work.
Do not use firmware extractor without creating a map for your device.... or you may brick it. The correct partition is recovery_ramdisk
