I unlocked my bootloader and can't create a TA backup is it necessary for it to work? I can do every other step. I actually was able to install Magisk but the safetynet check fails
Backup TA is not mandatory.
Is it still relevant now?
Report when used with D5803
Thanks for the instructions!
I'd like to add some comments that hopefully might help others. I tried to follow the described procedure with a Sony Xperia Z3 compact D5803. The numbers refer to the steps given above:
1.
- some USB cables don't work
- my USB3-port did not work correctly, USB2 did
3.
- my D5803 had no bootloader menu. So when you expect the colourful textmode menu on white background, you may be disappointed. However, recovery can still be accessed
- to enter recover, I had to FIRST switch on, THEN pressed vol-down to enter. Simultaneous pressing did not work
- reboot into recovery from Windroid (software reboot) usually failed
- a bootloop can be resolved with Emma (Sony Software) from flashmode (power off, press up, insert USB)
4.
- the ROM eXistenZ Marshmallow [5.6.5 FINAL] did not work on my phone. I got "system UI terminated" over and over again, no way to enter Android at a useful point, not even when starting in protected (?) mode
- However, the entire process also works with stock ROM, so you can skip steps 5 and 6
7.
- I skipped this step, as TWRP 3.2.3 did not work on my D5803
8.
- used TA_POC with EliteKernelZ3c-v3.4.33.zip and ta.img from step 2, the *.imp form TWRP 3.1.0 as recovery, answered "yes" when asked to disable ROC
9.
- I used Magisk 20.3. The SafetyNet check passed. Installed my banking app (Commerzbank Phototan 8.1.0), set it in Root hide, but it terminated without further messages. I had to go back to 6.0.3 (which probably even works on rooted devices)
- I install Xposed as a Magisk module. When activated, the SafetyNet fails. It can be reversed when deactivating the module.
I installed LineageOS 17 on my moto x play xt1562, but i want to return to my stock rom, because i had better battery life with it. I downloaded the stock rom from here: https://github.com/motoxplay/stock but i can't find up to date guide how to install it. I am wondering if i can install the stock rom as i installed the LineageOS rom: i booted the phone in the lineage custom recovery mode and sideloaded the LineageOS image with this command: `adb sideload xxxxxxxxxx.zip`. Can i do the same with the stock image?
Old thread but i reply. You need to flash every file manually in fastboot to install stock rom on Motorola X Play
