Hi Guys,
Wow, not long after I upgraded my Galaxy S to 2.3.3 and totally happy with the increased performance, my phone plan came due for renewal and I secured a Galaxy S2. Two great phones.
But I don't seem to be able to find the Daily Briefing or the really neat "Disc View" in the music section on the S2. Am I pathetic at finding things or are they missing?? If missing, why would Samsung remove the great animation of the Disc View, I really liked that feature.
Has anyone got any ideas?
Daily briefing look under Samsung apps for an update.
Not a clue what disc view is .

ok, I have probably called it by an incorrect name. Sorry 'bout that. What I am referring to is the animation of the albums turning into LP's with the album art on the face, when you turn into landscape mode. You can then thumb thru the cd icons and tap-select the one you want. It then rolls to the left of screen and the song list appears to the right. Have you seen this on the Galaxy S?? What is that feature called??
also... I have checked the Samsung apps and no mention there of Daily Briefing... Did you find it there?? Cause I can't spot it.
Any way we can have applications from the Galaxy Note (I and II) ported over to the TPT? I was reading though some threads of people asking the applications to be ported to phones like the Galaxy S2 and stuff like that, and the obvious problem was pretty much that they don't have a stylus to work with it that has pressure sensitivity and all that other fun stuff.
But alas, I feel all the applications would work with the TPT and we don't really have that much utilization of all the capabilities of the stylus (like hover and stuff) in the apps that we have. I remember reading this in another thread before, but can't find it anymore for some reason.
I concur. The only app I would like is S-Note from the Galaxy Note 10.1 and w/e apps it needs to run alongside it.
Any take the APK for s-note and it's related files out of the Galaxy Note(be it phone or tablet) and try it on their Thinkpad, I would think it could work.
I tried it and got nothing, copied the libs and preloaddata folder and still couldn't get it to install
I got my N7 a week ago from TigerDirect, refurbished. It is the 32GB model. It looked in perfect condition cosmetically. However now that I have been using it for a week it seems that something is just not right. Compared to my Galaxy SIII running CM10, it is SO SLOW and LAGGY.
Some tasks that are particularly slower compared to my S3 are multitasking - switching between apps, launching chrome with a few (~3-4) tabs already open, launching google now voice search, etc.
I have tried both CM10.1 (experimental build) and PA (latest version). Both seemed equally slow.
Some of the things I have tried to fix the isses:
Installed Seeder
Installed LagFix
Removed unneeded apps, particularly ones that are always running like weather apps
Turned off sync and disabled Google Currents
Turned off notifications for apps that don't need it, such as facebook and foursquare
At this point I'd like to determine if it's a defective hardware issue or that further/different software modifications are needed.
Thanks in advance for any help.
On the Galaxy SIII (i9300 at least), there is a 1 to 3 seconds lag when launching either the Phone or Contacts.
I managed to find a workaround (installing JKay framework which add the option of keeping Phone and Contacts in memory so that it only has to load it once, then it's fast each time we launch it again).
But I'd like to know if anyone who has the phone could check if that still happens on the S4?
I'm guessing the problem is lesser since it now has 2Gb of RAM (so it won't get removed from RAM so often), but is it still taking a while to load when launching contacts for the first time after a boot?
Thanks !
Plus one on this.
I have the Samsung Note 1 and the contacts and phone apps also lags heavily.
I think its just the way Samsung develop the app
Same here, default contacts/dialer lags on all Galaxy S phones
I am porting US version of Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 (J727U) to the Galaxy J7 Prime (G610M). The problem is when I replace libs responsible for the camera to work correctly, something is terminating apps such as Samsung Browser, Chrome and even TouchWiz Setup. They hang for couple of seconds and then force close. I do not believe replaced camera libs are causing independent from them application to close.
So is it Google's security patch (July 2017) or something form Samsung? What do you think? And how to remove it?
UPDATE: SOLVED. Just replaced libexynoscamera -s libraries. And adjusted the time while doing this to the August 1st 2008.
