Ive had this powerhouse of a phone for just under 16 Hours, Screen has only been used for around half an hour etc,
Ive just noticed some screenburn on the screen The four buttons - (Phone, Contacts, Messaging, Apps) are visible on the screen when I look at a grey-ish background (Such as the speedx initial bg). Ive been through 6 Galaxy S2s, Three of them had this issue - Is it me, or is this a bit weird? Phone screen on for only 30mins since it was factory shiny&new, and theres already light screenburn.
Is this a characteristic of SAMOLED Plus, or is this a faultly batch? (Im on my 5th replacement phone from Amazon due to various faults). It seems a bit weird, a phone thats cost near £475 inc has this kind of issue.

It doesn't look screen burn as it looks coloured. it might be the app you are running has transparency.
afaik, OLED does suffer from screen burn like plasmas do - potentially, but not that quick!
Well, it can happen. After a month i started seeing the same thing when pulling down the notification bar. So it's not app related, cause i don't use other launcher, i can clearly see the shadow of the 4 icons for a few seconds when pulling down the notification bar. They disappear pretty quickly, i'm not that bothered about that.
Also notice even if you just got the phone the very first second the digital clock actually burns through the notification tray and slowly disappears, I think its a technology limitation on the SAMOLED+

i have proplems with colors like grey and dark blue

and my phone is only 14 day old

on my sgs1 the screen was way better

Seems like a SAMOLED+ limitation as you say. I was just curious, it shouldnt bother me much whilst im using my phone normally.

If the screenburn gets really bad, I suppose i can always just use the 2yr Warranty I have on the phone to get the screen replaced. Waste of an invisibleshield though.
Considering the phone is less than a day old, the screen might go really weird in 2-3 months - Which is what im worried about.

I would have to agree that the S1 screen is was a better display even if did have a more jagged edges on the fonts.
I have a similar issue in the messaging app, but with the keyboard. If I 'enable'(/turn on/whatever) it then disable it, it's 'shadow' stays there for a couple of seconds. It is however not a permanent burn in, so I think it's just the screen's limitation and it doesn't really bother me as this screen is still by far the best I've ever used.

wouldn't that screw up video playback though? sounds more like a software bug
I turned the clock on the notification bar back to 24hr , as i read/saw the AM/PM can burn in as they are displayed a lot longer then the 24hr digits which move at least every hour.
I just discovered this issue last night. I had been noticing a few lines here and there on my regular usage and I thought it was just a defective screen. Through the use of Terminal's blue screen, I realized that it wasn't defective.
I have a car dock, and use PowerAMP in the car every day. As you can see above, those burn ins are the buttons in PowerAMP. I went to take a picture of my SGS2 with my N1, and while looking at the blue screen on my SGS2 through the display of the N1, I noticed the N1 had the issue too!
I'm trying to run JScreenFix now to see if it solves the problem, but I highly doubt it.
Will Samsung even honour the warranty for things like this?
I have an SGS1 of 1 year old and my SGS 2 bought in may. Side by side, I will never exchange my SGS2 for another SGS1. Screen quality (colours and details) is by far better on SGS2. No comparision
I also don't see any burn in in both devices (keybord test, status bar...). Maybe some defective devices around that you just should exchange
If you want to test your screen or anything on your phone type *#0*# into the keypad
If the burn don't show up on green blue or red then its something else
I also have the same issue. I can see shadow of the System task bar. It was quite vivid on RED and it shows as lighter blue on blue colour. And on white it became pale white. Bright yellow as well on yellow.
I've tried various things like put the screen on full brightness on Black and Red and blue but still have the shadow there.
I will see if i can get my warranty repair.
I just wanted to confirm that the SGS2 sure can have a Burn In, as it was declared before as "Burn In Proof".
I noticed it while playing the recently released Game "Osmos HD". The game's color temperature is pretty blue-dark, and thats where I can see a slight burn in of the Task Bar.
Afterwards I checked my screen with various LCD Test programs and BAM - with low brightness I see slight burn in of the whole task bar. I can even see the signal indicator, the battery percentage and the spot where the clock sits.
But its only visible at very low brightness and a blue-purple coloring.
I called my brother, who has the Galaxy S2 as well, and he directly went and checked with LCD Tester as well. He, too, reported to me that he also has a slight screen burn in of the task bar, tho its very tough to spot. I guess, if you dont know its there, u wont notice it.
We both have our SGS2 models now for roughly a year, and the screens already seem to decrease in quality and stability.
I am a fan of Super AMOLED+ color quality and contrasts, but my 2 bothers and me have all the yellow tint issue, tho its not very drastic, and all devices start to get kind of a permanent screen burn in.
Its really sad to see that the otherwise fabulous screens already show its age. I hoped that Samsung learned from the SGS1's issues and user feedback, but sadly, it seems like they kind of ignored the fact that the Super AMOLED cant take much action...
My girlfriends Desire HD's screen (which was my phone before I got the SGS2) is still showing good colors. Sometimes I think about getting an LCD device again...
I think what most posters in this thread are reporting is Samoled ghosting, ie image retention for a few secs. Its not permanent, unlike burn-in, which some people may experience after some months of usage.

No, its not ghosting at all.
The taskbar image thats burned in is from MIUI. And since I am running either and Sammy ICS Build or Androidmeda for a while now, this image must've been there for longer than I thought.
As I said, I just noticed it yesterday while trying out the Osmos HD Demo. And its clearly the MIUI taskbar. Must be there for more than a couple of days already.
No screen burn on my Galaxy S2! Btw, been comparing screen to iphone 4/4s and Galaxy S2 screen way better! You have to have some sort of "telescopic" vision to notice resolution advantige on 4s... Who anyway reads webpages fully zoomed out? LoL... With magnifyng glass?? Contrast and colors advantige is huge on galaxy side....

For how long are you using ur Galaxy S2 now? Mine is running non-stop since a roughly a year now.
And yes, it seems like a permanent screen burn in on my end. Just checked again, same visibility of the probably weeks-old MIUI taskbar.
So the Nexus 4’s potentially quality screen has crappy screen issues. There. I said it.
What I mean is that it’s a GREAT screen in some ways (resolution mainly) but it’s let down by what seems to be noticeably poor quality/manufacturing.
Why do I say this? Well, it’s been my experience that the Nexus 4 (in general) has a chronic problem with significantly poor screen uniformity for both colour and brightness. I ordered my first phone on the 13th December 2012 and as soon as it arrived I was pretty excited at finally getting a new phone (upgrading from Galaxy S1 the N4 is a beautiful beast).
When I booted it up and started using it I immediately got a sinking feeling as I realised that the bottom third of the phone had a slight but easily noticeable yellow gradient tint to it along with the left edge and the right edge was grey/dingy about a half a centimetre in. The left side and bottom third were also noticeably brighter than the right side of the phone. I’ve illustrated this in the attached pic. It’s all fairly subtle – but it’s definitely there and is easy to see.
Since I use (like most people I guess) quite a few apps that have white or solid colour backgrounds (gmail, currents, google books, email, messaging, chrome etc) – this lack of uniformity really made things look crappy in a not spectacular but just “sub-par” way unless I was viewing something which was a picture or video or filled the screen where it wasn’t noticeable.
So I called Google Play and told them about the problem and they arranged for a return.
When I got my replacement I booted it up and immediately, even before getting past the X logo animation noticed a big spot of light bleed at the top right. *Very* easy to see and my heart sank.
There on in I opened up the Mail app and closed the keyboard so I got a nice, mainly white screen. Again I noticed the same issue with the yellowing tint to the bottom and left but this time it was *more* noticeable.
To cut this long story short I’ve now sent back 3 devices for this issue, about to send back my 4th and my 5th should arrive tomorrow. I’m not holding out much hope.
I’ve seen this exact same issue on about 4 other Nexus 4’s in shops in the UK (Carphone Warehouse, O2) and while there looked at the HTC One X, iPhone 5 and the new Lumia phones from Nokia running Windows Phone 8. Those phones in particular (with LCD screen tech too) didn’t have these issues *at all* as far as I could tell. In fact the HTC One X screen looked to me to be flawless, as did the Lumia 820 and 920. If I could put the screen from the One X into the N4, I would. Sadly, not gonna happen. Sadly I don’t want the One X but do want an N4. P.S. I know LG manufacture their own displays.
Now I’m NOT claiming to speak for ALL N4’s (why I’ve started this thread) but I do believe that it cannot be a coincidence that ALL the N4’s *except one* showed this issue. I believe that LG simply manufacture the screens in such a way that they invariably have these tinting and brightness uniformity inconsistencies and that because most people don’t care, they don’t care.
********What I’d like is to ask if people with an N4 they’re happy with could do the following and provide the following info:
*Open the Mail app and close the keyboard (press down arrow at bottom). Look at the white of the screen and see if there is any edge or part of the screen that is noticeably *brighter* or *more yellow*. Are there any areas of the screen that are noticeably darker or duller? Do this for different brightnesses (low and fairly high). What do you see? Any yellow tint? Any inconsistency in brightness? All ok? Perfectly even?********
TL;DR: I’ve had 4 Nexus 4’s from Google Play all with the same yellow tint and brightness uniformity issues. Very noticeable. Not acceptable to me for a device that displays a lot of white “pages” and solid colours. Other phones (that I don’t want) do not have this issue (annoying). Please can you give feedback from your phone.

The attached illustration is slightly "exaggerated" to make sure the effect is reproduced for all screens. Not by all that much though.
UPDATE: 31/01/2013: Well I've received *another* N4 replacement today and lo and behold the exact *same issue*. With this one I'm going to wait it out at least a week and see if it improves. I *really* want an N4 as in every other way it's truly a great piece of tech. Pray for me guys!

I've had tint issues with all three handsets. First two it didn't disappear after use. This third handset SEEMS to have gotten a little better after a week.
All three had light bleed. First one was least noticeable, last two including the current have two blobs of light bleed in the exact same places along the top of the LCD.
It's almost as if something during manufacturing (screw tightness?) has caused it on both handsets. They are both 212K and revision 11.
It's annoying me and I may do one final RMA once I see what this new wave of devices brings.

The only issue I have with my screen is poor colors. I have a One X and an iPhone 5 that I sometimes compare with my N4's screen and it's shockingly apparent that the N4's screen has colors that just aren't worthy of a top-tier device. The resolution is nice and all, but I like it when the colors are nice and accurate. It's most easy to tell when comparing images of people and looking at their skin. Now I'm no anthropologist, but I have a pretty solid grasp of what skin looks like. The One X is probably the best at representing things the way they look IRL, followed by the iPhone 5. I don't know if it's just my N4 or other people have the same issue. I've tried using apps to adjust the color (FauxClock with Faux's kernel, to be specific), but nothing makes it look quite as nice as my other phones.
I guess you never asked about the second part, but there it is.
I had that issue when I received my device, Used kernel setting to rectify the problem but after 4-5 days of use it gone away. Now device is perfect.
I recommend you to stay with it for 3-4 days before returning it and check.

Thanks for the feedback - very helpful. I got *another* one through today and it seems "better" by a bit than the previous one at least. I think I'll see how it goes. Good to know that it's not only me sho can see the difference.

All the phones I've had have been 301K and they've all had the same issue with yellow tint/backlight inconsistency in a very similar way. I'll have sent back 4 N4's if I decide to keep the current one! I think you're probably right about the screw tightness or some such other minor thing during manufacturing. It's not like a viewing angle problem. It does look like something to do with assembly in particular. Please do let me/us know how you get on and how things work out.

I used FauxClock on my previous device (sat here waiting to go back) and it did seem to improve the situation slightly - but then since the screen isn't uniform, it reduced the yellow where it was yellow but then made it too "blue" on the rest of the screen. I really hope that this yellow tint is a "glue" issue or something that will even out through repeated use due to heating/cooling - i.e. expanding and contracting which somehow settles things down. I'll keep this one about a week and see what happens. Fingers crossed!

^ this is pretty much all I can say.
Every nexus 4 phone I handled had a slightly yellower screen at the bottom. For me its barely noticeable, not as yellow as it is in your illustration.
They all seem to have that same issue, along with light bleeding across the top edge.
You can keep RMAing if you're not tired of that .. But you will not receive a fully uniform no matter what.
If screen uniformity is important for you get one of the above phones you mentioned.

Thanks for the info, that's interesting to know. Out of interest, how many have you handled? Going by some comments on XDA and around the web regarding this issue, you'd think that the yellow tint was only on a handful of handsets and an isolated quirk, not as I suspect and you seem to suggest, a common trait of the N4.

I ordered three of them, all screens looked identical with the exact same issues: some yellowing at the bottom with a light bleed over the top edge (especially top right corner). I had to RMA 2 out of the 3 due to severe screen issues (screen flickering and dead pixels). Received 2 new units, screens have the exact same issue. I have 2 friends with N4s and their screens are like that too. It's almost not noticeable.

Does the light bleed appear like small blobs from the top edge?
My worst is the top left, about an inch in. Then there's another smaller blob nearer the right hand side. Little bit leakage top right and top left, but its worst along the actual taskbar.

My first nexus 4 (rev 10) has perfect whites except the bottom of the screen would turn yellow after warming. All of the 4 RMA devices I've recieved (rev 11) don't have this issue EXCEPT all the rev 11s are calibrated horribly leading to the entire screen being yellower than my rev 10 unit. The screens are uniform, however, I just wish they calibrated the phones like they did with the rev 10.
The new rev 11s have a calibration problem while my rev 10 has a glue problem.
The new rev 11s also have a dimmer screen than my rev 10. I kinda just want them to send a perfect rev 10 to me.
Interesting because calibration issues affect the whole screen. If any part of the screen isn't the same "tint" as another part and its noticeable then this isn't something that can be fixed with calibration. Calibration can only save a uniformly "yellow" or "blue" tinted screen. To that end I wish mine was uniformly yellow. Mine is a rev 11 and I'm on my second day with it and hoping the bottom and left yellow tint fades soon and that it's just glue. I've tried Fauxclock and applying various screen tweaks with a previous similar phone and it helped somewhat but there's nothing can be done about unevenness in the tint really unless its glue and it dries.

So I was on my 2nd Nexus 6P and like the first it had an uneven screen. Normal/slightly pink at the top and at the bottom it's more yellow. Instead of returning it I've decided to try and fix the yellow tint by intentionally causing a burn-in on the over-enthusiastic green pixels in the bottom half of my screen.
To do this I flashed a kernel which unlocks the high-brightness mode of the display, the awesome EX kernel, set my screen timeout to 15 minutes and left the display turned on for 3x15 minutes in high brightness mode with a black-to-green gradient open full screen in the Photos app (absolutely nothing else on screen). After each of the 15 minutes I checked the progress, after the 3rd time I considered it done. I'm happy to report that this has nearly eliminated my uneven screen problem.
So far I've seen no ill effects, just a nice even screen.
I used this black-to-green gradient that was a close match to where my screen was yellow. My first 6P had a different pattern of yellowness, so that would have required a different gradient, more like black-green-black.
Interesting, the normal slightly pink at the top transitioning to yellow at the bottom describes the screen on my original nexus 6P and it's replacement.
I'll look into giving this a try as well.
I´m not sure if something like this could be considered as a defect. If you look at a very high angle, you might see some sort of "rainbow effect" on the screen. You should be careful about "burning in" Pixels in a Amoled screen. High brightness will wear out the LEDs faster than you think. At least this is how I remember my old Samsung Galaxy S3 but maybe Amoled technology has improved a lot.

I can't really comment on if the OP's method is safe or not, but it is worth noting that the gradient/tint change is noticeable even when viewed straight on under normal use, such as browsing etc.
It could sort of be likened to the old TN based flat screens from a number of years ago where the top and bottom looked slightly different colours, however a lot of this was down to narrow viewing angles. I'm wondering if the same applies to the specific AMOLED display used by the 6P as well.
The AMOLED screens on my Moto X 2nd Gen and Moto X Force don't have the same problem.
I have a slight purple tint too on the screen but it is only visible on a white background. It does not bother me, if you set a higher brightness it is barely visible. Maybe all Nexus 6P have this sort of display and you simply have to live with it.

Would you happen to have a before image for your screen? I would like to try this on my phone but can't say for sure what exact color the uneven section is. Most of the screen seems to have a pink tint that fades into a green/yellow tint in the bottom left corner. I don't want to stress the wrong color accidentally.
Can you post before and after pics of your screen please?

Its a well known characteristic of samsung AMOLED screens. Samsung users have been complaining about this for some time. Its actually worse on the sgs6. But more brightness will make it less noticeable. Honestly, if you forget about it and stop focusing on it, you will stop noticing it.
Yeah I understand some are really bad you should send it back.but if its slight. There's no.point obsessing about it. It takes the joy away from using the phone

It's impossible not obsessing about it since the display is very thing you look at when using a phone, people wouldnt tolerate if it was an LCD, dead pixels or any other defect at the advertised price, but since it's amoled we should be expected that these errors occur.
The issue on slight displays is that the screen is uneven on white, so its impossible to ignore on web browsing and how dark ui and gapps is not provided by Google, I would prefer it to be slightly pink/blue all over not half so you won't notice it.
Not meaning to rant and whine but consumers shouldn't have to accept this or fix the issue themselves, when I show the phone of friends, they notice the inconsistent white background and are shocked when I say its something you have to live with, the features are not going to outweigh the display issue
The joy of the phone is still there, just wish they implement quality control.
I complained about this on my Nexus 6. Ended up buying and returning a total of about 8 phones from various stores until i found the "perfect" one. Its incredibly irritating when you can notice it and its the first thing you see when the pixels light up. Some people may care more than others but im not willing to compromise anymore. AMOLED displays look great, but LCDs seem to have a better yield or QA. I was of course down voted and flamed about this. Good to see people starting to take action against garbage quality AMOLEDs.

Instead of returning it I've decided to try and fix the yellow tint by intentionally causing a burn-in on the over-enthusiastic green pixels in the bottom half of my screen.
To do this I flashed a kernel which unlocks the high-brightness mode of the display, the awesome EX kernel, set my screen timeout to 15 minutes and left the display turned on for 3x15 minutes in high brightness mode with a black-to-green gradient open full screen in the Photos app (absolutely nothing else on screen). After each of the 15 minutes I checked the progress, after the 3rd time I considered it done. I'm happy to report that this has nearly eliminated my uneven screen problem.
So far I've seen no ill effects, just a nice even screen.
I used this black-to-green gradient that was a close match to where my screen was yellow. My first 6P had a different pattern of yellowness, so that would have required a different gradient, more like black-green-black.

This post is old but I wanted to try this nonetheless. You can't just burn in or wear out the pixels in such sort of time no matter what. 45 mis is not enough to cause such an effect. I tried it as I have a screen with the same exactly issue but there is no change. And I did it for far more than you. I let it all the night long for 3 days. There was no change. I don't think you can fix this issue this way (or any other way)
You guys keep saying "AMOLED issue". I bought 6p after having OnePlus X - it has AMOLED without any issue, it was perfect screen! Nexus 6p is great phone, but screen really bothers me... I hate, but I need to replace the phone. And I am not sure whether I will get a good phone or not. Support told me that if I would ask for replacement - they could send me a refurbished phone. Only buying new will give a new phone. I can still return it as I have it for few days...

Seriously, a refurbished device just after a few days? Like you had it for 10 months, lol? Is it Huawei?
Escalate the case to a supervisor and don't give up until you get a "proper" new phone!

At the moment, I have both devices. Having used the S7 Edge since the release, yesterday I switched to the S7. In shifting back to the S7 Edge just now, I noticed the two device's displays are quite different.
The S7 clearly has more saturated colors and looks far brighter. The S7 Edge, in comparison, looks slightly more dull when side by side.
For reference, I tested both devices in the same conditions. That is to say the S7 and S7 Edge with automatic brightness disabled and pushed up to maximum manual brightness. Also I tested both in a darker room. For reference both were set to AMOLED Cinema.
Unfortunately even when the automatic brightness is turned back on, it's clear the S7 still looks more vibrant.
Can anyone explain what's going on here? Is it simply that the Edge looks like it has a lesser screen because of the larger size and thereby lower pixel density. Or is it something about the panels themselves and thus the S7 that I have now just happened to get a better panel than the Edge.
Any thoughts or answers would be appreciated.
Displaymate tested them and stated that they are practically identical in terms of performance: http://www.displaymate.com/Galaxy_S7_ShootOut_1.htm. Any chance you can test out against another Edge?

Actually no, unfortunately. Neither device has been released in Japan yet. Both of the ones I have are imported.
The thing is lot more complicated...
Each S7 Edge has different display quality! When you put 2 S7 Edge Side by Side and compare, you will see that the displays have different tint (mostly yellow), and more worse: a lot of the displays are not homogeneous. that means that one corner or side is brighter then the rest of the display.

basically i do think that the s7 screen is better, due to the Edge screen is P-AMOLED to be flexible! but the differences between otherwise identical devices are really huge!
i ordered my 5th device today, because all of them had flaws:
1st: display not good compared to second device
2nd: the device i use now. very good viewing angles and no tint, BUT: left side of display is darker then right side
3rd: display strong yellow tint
4th: display almost good, slight yellow tint. would take this, BUT: front cam takes blurry pictures compared to other devices...
5th: ordered today!
you may think i'm a hypocrite or have OCD, but it makes me mad that a 800EUR device has such flaws!!!

Or, you know, maybe you're looking for a flaw that's not there? It's a well known fact by now that a bend in a display, like the Edge, will have some shifts in brightness, tint and contrast, especially right in that bend! If this is something that annoys you, then I'd recommend you stick with flat panels from now on, because this won't be "fixed" for awhile. It's just the way it is.
Also, you do not have OCD.
"Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a common, chronic and long-lasting disorder in which a person has uncontrollable, reoccurring thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors (compulsions) that he or she feels the urge to repeat over and over."
If you turn the screen on and off 30 times before you can make a call, you have OCD. If you have to knock your door five times each time you come home, you have OCD. If you think the smartphone's screen is the wrong hue, that's not OCD, that's just being picky.

I think you're being a tad bit OCD. At the end of the day, the S7 might have a slightly better display than the S7E but the screen size and battery size make the S7E better for me personally. If you're looking for a slightly better looking display then maybe you'd be happier with the S7.

Thx for the medical and display-tech lecture, I'm a university lecturer (engineering and physics) myself!
1) Display quality: You did not read my post, or my linked thread regarding note4! The display of note4 was not curved, and had the same problems as all of samsungs amoled devices before: When you compare 10 devices side by side, you will see that each and every device has different screen tone, uniformity, ... About 2 out of 10 I would consider "good", all other have flaws such as a not uniform brightness distribution (one side of the screen is darker then the other side), or bad viewing angles.
this is NOT a problem which every device has, as I always found one device in the past which was "OK" after exchanging a few times.
same happened last week and today: last week i got a device with a really nice screen, but the front cam took blurry pictures compared to the other S7E devices I have in front of me. this can be easily reproduced, so the cam or lens has a problem the other devices do not have.
the device i got today has the best screen so far (good and even white distribution, good viewing angles), the front cam is ok (a bit less sharp pictures then my reference device, but WAY sharper as from the last weeks device), but there is a scuff on the top metal frame of the display, between the glass and the metal. this is no dust particle, it is a real scuff. :| i will test the rear-cam as well, if it is ok i will stay with this device, as the scuff is not nice, but a minor issue compared to the display faults of the other devices.
also, i showed the different displays of all my S7E devices to friends and colleagues (because they thought i'm crazy because of my exchanges), and all of them see the display faults as well. you need to have devices for comparison, then you will notice how bad some screens are compared to others!
so no need to go for an other device as the S7E, because there ARE good ones existing. but you have to be lucky to get one...
on the OCD: this was half ironic, because i know that OCD really is.

I did.... not read that Note 4 thread, and I did (clearly not) understand what you said (blame the beers I had), but alright, I do understand what you're saying now, and yeah, there is a slight difference in each panel, and some will get a slightly better panel than the other one. That happens with every screen out there, including LCDs, and viewing angles are also something that gets affected, but I have the impression that this is more of an issue with LCDs.
I would keep swapping it until I got a good panel, so keep doing what you're doing until you get tired or hit the jackpot. The screen is rated as the best smartphone screen ever, so I promise you it should look amazing. The issues you're experiencing is very common though, and must be somewhat expected when we are early adopters. These are typical issues that Samsung will weed out with time.
I saw a strange think on S7E: the 2 sides of the screen have grey shadow area if you looking at it in a dark room with low brightness of course...is that normal?

I saw other phones and talked to other S7E owners, and they see this grey halo too, when the brightness is low and the environment really dark. Do you think that it is a problem of my screen?
So I got my.hands on a pixel 3 earlier this year and had nothing but problems with the screen in terms of overall uniformity. Pink splotches or top half pink bottom half normal.
Fast forward 9 months I thought I'd give the Pixel 4 a go. Newer tech, thought these issues would have been ironed out, but obviously not.

I can't surely be the only one who has these issues?

Sure! mine looks similar especially at night with low brightness it even has bleeding and flashes light (try to do it yourself, go to gallery on a totally black picture, put the brightness at maximum and see yourself, pixel should be off, and they are on instead and they even flash white sometimes)
hope next batches of products will not have these issues

Why accept that thought on a product that cost as much as it did!?
I'm such a big fan of Google, I had pixel 2 and 3xl, I bought the pixel 4 hoping that the camera and the whole hardware would be great, but for the price we paid it..
Not so worth imo
Thinking about moving to iPhone 11 pro, the camera so really good and is overpriced just like the pixel 4.

I love the Pixel line for the software but the hardware is trash.

I can not reproduce this to the extent your photograph is showing.
While I can discern the border between the 'forehead' and the screen, it's only there if I look at it a lot closer and more intently than I would during normal use.
I've not seen any pixels flashing, perhaps you have a faulty display/connector, I'd be looking into that before using your screen as an example of all Pixel 4's having issues with their display.
I'd like to add that I think it's odd that your screenshot shows a darker black behind the legacy software buttons you've enabled at the bottom of the screen than the rest of your screen shows - odd because both areas are displayed by the screen, they should be equally black.
Finally, perhaps you should look into taking a new picture where your highlights aren't blown / your image isn't overexposed, I think it's likely there's something wrong with your RGB channels.
I'm rather enjoying my Pixel 4, while it might not be a huge upgrade from the Pixel 3 you seem to come from, I come from a Moto G3 (2015), which means it's a world of difference for me. The only drawback I can think of is the battery life, but both during and outside of work hours I'm near chargers often enough for it to matter little. I'd say calling the hardware "trash" is a bit of an exaggeration, as much of an exaggeration as your photographed proof appears to me

The smaller Pixel 4 uses an LG OLED panel (which has gotten better year after year of Google using them on their Pixel devices, but have notoriously exhibited uniformity issues across the screen -much more so than the Samsung panel the 4XL uses). That said, thankfully I don't have that red/magenta tint that seems to be fairly common for this panel (search reddit). I do however have the green tint that seems to come from the bottom of the panel up (that is a software issue caused by bad calibration of the 90hz display -regardless of whether you have 90hz on or not). It is more prominent on some screens than others, but it seems that most/all Pixel 4s suffer from that.
Anyway, I agree that Google just can't get their hardware right and, frankly, it's because they don't care. They just want people to focus on all their software innovations and since no one makes Google Play Edition phones anymore, we're stuck with their poor design and implementation.

On dark theme when booting device during Google logo everything is OK screen corners are totally black but when Google logo animation starts grey tint is appearing in bottom right corner. Could you check on your pixel also?

On dark theme when booting device during Google logo everything is OK screen corners are totally black but when Google logo animation starts grey tint is appearing in bottom right corner. Could you check on your pixel also?
