The other day I tried to root my phone. it was only temporary root. before I was going to permanent root my phone I wanted to reset it, but I had not installed a custom recovery. now it will only power on to the android screen then shut off and restart. I cannot access the recovery mode I can only access the FTM mode. I was wondering if there was any hope for my phone?

So I followed this https://forum.xda-developers.com/ta...wrp-install-twrp-root-samsung-galaxy-t3111934 and the best thing ever happened..... Nothing.....
It's a sprint galaxy tab 4 7 inch updated to 5.1.1 SW version T237PVPS1BPL1
So how do I really root?
When in download mode, after flashing twrp, holding power, vol+, and home takes me back to download mode. If i start with device on (or off) and do exact same method, I get stock recovery.
I'm no noob, but most has been htc where the bootloader has to be unlocked first. I have recently rooted 2 samsung s5 devices for my brother doing odin to flash recovery and then flashing superSu. And i have used that crappy app on my tab that floods your device with bloatware (king root) that set off my knox crap. Which has been removed and I lost root.
I'm also aware that some devices, if you don't get into custom recovery as soon as it is installed, then factory one takes over.
So i flash recovery, and progress bar shows finished, but if i hold power, vol+, and home.... It just goes back to download mode.
If I reboot the device, and then hold down above said task, it goes to factory recovery.
Does this fall in the "don't reboot device and go straight to recovery" device? If so, how?
Or, is it not installing recovery?
And why do I get download mode from download mode, and recovery mode from device on/off in normal mode while holding same buttons in each situation?
For some context, I had successfully rooted my S8 with Magisk using TWRP just a few months ago before unrooting. I've decided I want to root my phone again and I went through the same procedure as before but I can't get into recovery mode now for some reason. The phone just auto reboots into the "Samsung Galaxy S8+" splash screen and gets stuck there until I decide to boot into download mode no matter how early I push the buttons to get into recovery mode. I've already flashed my firmware and tried again like 15 times already, so I have nothing to lose. Can someone help me out? Thanks!
So I was installing twrp and everything went right until it didnt boot to the recovery and from then it keeps booting to lg logo and bootloader warning forever.
I know I can install the stock rom with lg up by I cannot enter download mode since the phone isnt technically turned off. Does anyoene have a solution.
It's my main phone and I literally cannot afford a phone right now.
A way to turn it off would be the solution. Battery was around 70% so it will take a long time to actually have 0%.
Update: I got to the fasboot menu from where I can run fastboot reboot recovery after installing twrp again. Now I have some mounting issues and I cannot flash any zip without entering bootloop. Im trying to use the shut down menu of twrp to try to enter download mode.
2nd Update: solved using lg up with the latest android version.
Hi, I'm trying to root my Samsung j3 phone, and i cant figure out how to do it. it seems quite simple, but i cant get it to boot twrp. Ive copied the twrp image to the recovery partition using Hemidall and then held power+volume-up+home to boot into recovery mode but the phone just boots into the normal recovery mode. Ive never rooted a phone before so i don't know what really to do.
Dont let it boot into the system, the system overwrites the recovery. Make sure as soon as its done flashing twrp, you restart instantly into the recovery. I'd recommend turning off auto reboot.
I did not install any custom recovery, just rooted the phone with supersu
I have to click the first option in recovery to boot back into the phone
Its not an emergency but how do i make it restart normally again without booting into recovery?
Phone model: sm-a300h
Nevermind.. I fixed it by turning off developer mode
