I recently had my S5 unlocked and I want to reflash it with a different stock rom.
I was told as long as I didn't mess with the GCF configuration it would not relock.
My question is will reflashing it lock the phone again?

It is possible to lock the bootloader, but you have to be working at HTC to do it.

I reckon they have some sort of flashing box that just obliterates everything and replaces it with official software.
dont they just have to flash back the original spl, which we dont have?

Unless someone can get that, no luck. Though it's probably a good thing that we can't relock the bootloaders.
Hey there, I have a samsung galaxy s4 sgh-i337 locked to at&t.
I bought an unlocking code from an ebay user.
it doesn't unlock my phone, it writes: "unlock request unsuccesful". I tried to use the defreeze code and then again the network code, still nothing.
I was referred to a guide that suppose to show me the "service mode menu", by entering *#0011# . so service mode goes on when i put that number in the dial pad, but then I suppose to do 'menu key'->'back'->'menu key'->'key input'->'1', but after I do that nothing happens, the service mode menu with all the options doesn't pop up, it stays in the same page of the service mode. somewhere down on the ServiceMode page it writes "Service:Limited". what should I do?
Talk with an at&t rep or chat online and indicate that you will be traveling and want to use this phone there and they'll give u a unlock code..

But still, does anyone here know about a way to make that cranky menu show up?

Someone... Help.. please
no Mega genius here that can solve my problem?
same boat here man, this is a new problem since not everyone has 4.3 yet. Att won't even give me the unlock code since they changed eligibility few months ago to "only off contract or fulfilled contract phones." I've read one person saying the eBay unlock code didnt work on 4.3 either. And the only success i've heard is another post here on XDA saying they unlocked 4.3 using the regionlockaway app, but they apparently Odin flashed 4.2.2, did the regionlockaway while the phone had no sound/wifi etc., then Odin flashed 4.3(locked again), then flashed 4.2.2 odin again, regionlockaway'ed, then odin'ed 4.3 again and the unlock stayed. That sounds ridiculous and is not an exact science.
So i'm done with At&t's phone slavery and switching to T-mobile on a nexus till the Xperia Z1 is out. I thought this was the future.

how much do you think they'll take?
If you have another $20.50 go to Myhoian's website it's unlockcode247.com it'll take about a full day or over 12 hours usually but not longer than that he's never failed to unlock any of my phones.
I used region unlock. Unlocked my phone, put in a T-Mobile sim and it didn't asked for a code. Bam unlocked.

I used Cellunlocker.net and it was done in 24hrs. It did cost $29.99. Since I was on MK2 the only way to get it unlocked for free was through my carrier and they would not unlock.

My carrier said I was qualified to do the unlock. How are these services? Paying that much money on a limb sounds sketchy and most endorsers seem to be part of the sketchiness. Anyone else have experience using the only sites?

I337 stock, unlocked, rooted
Hi,
I already asked this question in context of another ROM but got no helpful reply.
Now I flashed completely fresh newest stock L720VPUGPI2_L720SPTGPI2_SPR and I still have this prompt.
This was tested on two different carriers, but this screen is the same. Carrier support says it's exclusively phone issue, however I didn't find any SIM-related option in settings.
How to suppress this screen?
what are you trying to do? use it on another carrier? or is it a sprint sim in the phone?

I've never used Sprint SIM, as I am not in US.

im sorry, i wasnt trying to be captain obvious stock ROMs have to have that option in it somewhere, im not sure where tho. But the simlock is something that stock ROMs usually have built in. Are you averse to trying a non-stock ROM? Maybe a global ROM?

Youd be surprised... I usually live in the G900P forum, and trust me, youll see all kinds of SMH stuff.
If you have TWRP, your bootloader is ususally unlocked as it required an unlocked bootloader. Locked ones are relegated to things like safestrap. You can flash a ROM made for the international version of your phone, just dont Odin flash something not made specifically for your phone. Have you ever tried a CM11 ROM?

Not on this device. CM11 seems obsolete for me, as it is KitKat-based. Moreover it is dead now and development is halted, so installing it seems not reasonable to me.
Cm doesn't have updates anymore, but its still quite viable
i actually meant CM 13 tho

Just for info: after I switched off SIM lock prompt on Exodus ROM, it disappeared on all ROMs. Even the most odious Sprint stocks. So, bless to you, Exodus
It seems that this setting is hidden somewhere in hardware engineer menu, and unfortunately ROM devs don't bother revealing it to the user via GUI.

You have to wait a while for the unlock to go through. I've never unlocked my phone but I've seen videos so I have some knowledge

Something happened with OS in your phone. Maybe it was rooted, or maybe some error in the system. Any how. Just flash your phone with stock rom. The original firmware that it had, and the code should work. Also try factory reset first. That may work as well.
Good luck.
