Hi, was searchingfor battery drain on nougat and read some articles from Nexus forums and did what they do to solve and stop the battery drain.
I did the update with fastboot and factory reset after install, but my battery life was about 4 - 4.30 hours on daily use, yesterday I did these next steps on now I'm on 10% battery with 6 hours of use.
The steps? Simply:
Menu - Settings - Battery - (tap on 3 dots) - Battery Optimization (tap on ALL Apps) - again tap on 3 dots and rtap on RESET App preferences.
That dindn't loose any data, just reset the permisions.
Hope this work for you too, will keep testing ... and sorry for my bad English.

Not a good method...just resetting the permission wont do any good but you have to provide apps the permission from the beginning ..
I did this about 6 months ago on a Moto X Play after the phone was constantly awake and draining the battery, after i reset the app preferences my battery also went back to how it had been performing previously.

Hello
I have a samsung s4 i9500 new phone about 4 months old. I encoutered many battery problems so i installed Arrow rom, which i fell in love with it in a sec, it had everything and the battery life was just amazing. (Thanks to all who contributed into making this amazing rom).
But something happened when i installed an app about adds and it kinda restored my phone yo factory settings, i didnt care much for the reset, but i found out that my battery life ia no longer like before. Let me give you my states before and after.
Ps: i reinstalled the rom hoping better resulta but it was the same
I sleep usually at 1pm and wake up at 10. Thats 9 hours, when my phone was fine it only drained about 10% or 12%.
But as in for today for example, i slept 7 hours and it drained 20%.
Most of the draining came from android oa at 89%.
Please note that before i go to sleep i always charge my phone to 100%
Is there something wrong? Ill do any test to solve mu problem.
Thanks all

Hi.
U should install BBS app and post "other" and "partial wakelocks" screenshots so that we can tell what's eating up yr battery life.
Cheers.
deep sleep!
Yeah BBS is definitely the way to go..also you might want to check skipjack's awesome thread for better batt life when idle (insanely )
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2357417
I got better batt life with my s4 after i did some of their tips on this thread..
Sweetdreams to your phone's battery! ))
I have attached my files, btw the battery is kinda weird, one day it drained about 40% but somedays drains way less, keep in mind that when i go to sleep i turn off my wifi and use edge network, and power savor too.
Some solutions that I follow that kind of stopped severe battery drain and got the phone in deep sleep mode:
- Disable "Scanning Always Available" from Advanced settings of WiFi
- Disable GPS and 'Use Wireless Networks' from Location settings menu
- Greenify apps and a few services
- Before putting the phone down for good, clear all the recently opened apps by pressing and holding the HOME button and clearing them all. Then open up the task manager and clear RAM.
- To get the phone into deep sleep (you can monitor this using a free app called WakeLock detector, available on PlayStore), if you have the habit of switching on the screen and then switching it off whilst being in the lockscreen mode (just like you check time quickly without unlocking the device), the S4 DOES NOT go into deep sleep mode even though the screen is switched off.
To solve this, you need to unlock the screen, get to homescreen and switch off screen from there instead of directly locking/switching off the screen without unlocking the device. Yes, it's hell and I don't know why this issue persists :/
This started happening a few months ago. My phone used to last well over a day before being to be charged. Now it barely lasts a day. It seems that Android OS is keeping the phone awake for long periods.
For example today the stats are:
8 hours on battery
49 minutes screen on
2 hours CPU time for Android System
4 hours 25 mins keep awake for Android OS
That's 25% CPU time and more than 50% keep awake while only 10% screen on time. That seems WAY out of proportion. It was never like this before...
Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas how to fix?
Thanks!

Hi , i had the same problem as you .
Lost 40% of battery at night. No deep sleep.
Now 5% at night without disabling any Google apps
Here's my solution.
1) disable all permission. If an application don't need to have access to your contact , location ...then remove it.
2) if you are using a router Wi-Fi them change the max connection from 16 to 8 or 4 connection max.
Try it.
Sorry for my English
Hi people, probable is a sub question, im noob!
i saw in my mi a1 with Oreo, last January patch, the battery stats reset if i restart the phone.
is this normal?
theoretically have to reset only when you charge to 100% the battery? or is normal to do so if you restart the phone?
after restart also the battery stats report as "last full charge time", the time or the restart.
so if i restarted the phone 2 minuts ago battery stats report the phone was full charged 2 minuts ago.

i have the same Problem. Any solution'?
Did you forced ota update?
I know its been a while, but was this ever resolved ? I have the same issue with Redmi 5 + (LineageOS 15.1)
Pretty sure thats intended. The phone can't measure the power that was consumed during reboot so it just starts over to keep things consistent for this session.
Hi,
My Samsung Galaxy S8+ used to hit 5 hours of screen on time minimum. But lately it has been tanking at about 1 percent every 3 minutes or so. When checking battery stats, it says that it is a high android system battery usage. When checking apps for potential battery drain, Bixby Global Actions and Bixby Services was 84 percent of the Android System battery drain. Please assist? Has this happened to anyone else? Should I factory reset?
Same thing happened to me right after the Oreo update. Last night I disabled all Bixby related apps, will see how it affects battery life until tonight. will update.

Perfect. Thank you so much. Look forward to your update. I did perform a factory reset so will also update after a few days of use
Any update on this? I was getting terrible battery life on my S9 due to high Android System drain. I did a factory reset and everything was great until I set up Bixby. Then Android System started killing battery life. I disabled everything related to Bixby but it still continued. Just did another factory reset and all is good again, but I'm scared to accidentally hit that button.
Hi,
Unfortunately still no news. I've tried clearing my cache multiple times. But still cannot find the culprit. I have managed to make my standby battery drain decent by updating to the latest March security update. But there is still a high Android system battery drain when using the phone. About 1% battery every 3 minutes.
I'm in the same boat. I did some research and found users complaining about bixby global action and bixby service draining thier batter after the oero update. I looked at my own results and found them draining 178% each! I just disabled the both of them but I'm still losing 1% about every 4 or 5 minutes. Going recharge my phone and see what results I get.
Got sick of this oreo update, the battery isnt as good as nougat even with crd7 and also if you set display on wqhd and u use app pair , after that when u hit the multitaskig button there is an animation stuter, i cannot cope with this.
And I had problems with batery but now it is better.
Clean cashe in recovery menu
Set Wi Fi to energy saving
Disable Google services in backround
With this now my batery is 15 - 20% better.
With or without Bixby - same.
My soft is CRD7
I hope this gets a fix soon, as many users are also reporting this.
Battery life is horrible to the point that I have to turn on battery saver from a full charge just so it would last the whole day.
Standby idle isn't friendly either.
Should have kept Oreo.
have you tried a factory reset?
Hmm... to my surprise I have complete opposite experience. Took my wife's Nokia 5 as a backup phone. However the battery was in very bad state ( she use Facebook and WhatsApp) . From full charge it took less than 4 hours to go down to 30% or less. Couple days ago got notification that system update available. And it was OS 9.0. So did the update and to my surprise the phone goes through the day easily with mild usage.
Hey guys my Nokia 5 overheats with 9pie will there be a update to fix it
