I love the idea of the HTC U's new Usonic earbuds. Unfortunately, while the second screen is pretty badass, it's not enough to justify upgrading from my HTC 10 (running Nougat, Magisk and Viper10 so sexy) which has USB-c like the U Ultra. I'm curious if the 'ear scanning' feature that HTC is bragging about for their new earbuds would work out-of-the-box on other HTC phones running nougat and the latest version of Sense?
If it doesn't I have no doubt that someone will get it working later down the line, but that's not the question. The question is if the Usonic earbuds would work on a US HTC 10 out of the box? Anyone had a chance to test this?

no, the USonic earbuds only working on U Ultra itself, i tried to plug it in Huawei Mate 9 or MacBook Pro but no luck
I tried it on my HTC 10 and there's a pop-up message says "The connected accessory is not compatible with your phone".
Tried it on my Pixel XL and no go.

So it says it isn't compatible. I assume that also means audio won't play through them at least?
I just got the htc u11 and tried the usonic ear buds that cane with it on s8+ didn't work
Have you tried to install the related apk?
I think there is a program which is corrsponding with the ear buds
Make my headphones work

Great Suggestion! Do you know the name of the program? i'v looked but can't seem to find it.
That's not it, I've installed this app(it's name is HTC adaptive sound, you can download it from apkmirror) and still nothing. Supporting for USonic earbuds is locked in system, it's an exclusive feature for U series. I have an answer from HTC in this case, they don't deny but I don't think they implement this in future updates.

Worked fine on a friend Moto Z
no Usonic feature, but works like a normal phones.
I know it's an old thread. HTC 10 received oreo update which has inbuilt feature to Scan usonic earphones for customized profiles. Did anyone tried usonic earphones with HTC 10? Is that active noice cancellation actually works?
Well, i tried my earphones with the HTC U11 and I was surprised to find out that the sound is actually way louder than on my U Ultra.
I've never even unpacked my earbuds, I use a bluetooth set. Are they really any better?

They do sound fantastic.
I think they're slightly better than my Sennheiser momentum M2 earphones using the adapter
Very impressed
iknow its an old thread already..base on the thread it was tested on Pixel XL,s8+ and htc 10..the reason it didnt work is there is a 3.5mm jack on all the phones mentioned..the one that it worked fine in this thread is a moto Z which doesnt have a 3.5mm jack..meaning all the said phones didnt work is there is no chip or parts in the charging port for an audio connector..so it wont work on that..because it has its own headset port..
I have successfully used HTC Usonic headphones on my Huawei Mate 10pro.
They simply work like regular headphones with this phone - now ear canal scanning or noise reduction, however they have quite good sound quality and are quite loud.
The only only flaw that I have found is that sometimes when you press button on them many times the sound becomes strange and distorted, however it can be quickly solved by unplugging and plugging them again.

Hello, im here to review the *title*.
Lets start off with the sound quality over the supplied headset.
-I get the EXACT same sound quality as i do with an ipod. (Using my own earphones).
-For deeper comparison, using my own earphones vs the one that came with the kaiser...
On the scale of 1-10, 10 being quality from an ipod
(Since sound quality varies on quality of earphones)
Bass
Supplied headset: 2
My earphones: 10
Crispness and Sound quality:
Supplied headset: 6
My earphones: 10
Now for the product(took images with my kaiser!)

Pros and Cons:
+You can sync, charge, and use stereo earphones.
+The Adapter doesn't dangle because its a direct connect.
+Ports open left of the kaiser, whereas its originaly down(Without adapter) for better comfortability when using the keyboard.(Isn't it awkward using the keyboard while syncing/charging?)
+ITS ONLY 6 USD!!!! Thats what? a double quarter pounder with cheese?
+FITS perfectly on the supplied HTC POUCH(Seriously it does, i dont have an extra camera to show you guys)
-You cant use supplied headphone + stereo headphones at the same time! (Ports are different, See pic)
-Once plugged in, Kaiser takes the adapter as earphones (even without any earphones plugged in), so you wont be able to use the speaker.
And i got it from Amazon.com, was suprised how fast it shipped to California, came next day.
http://www.amazon.com/3-5mm-Stereo-...ie=UTF8&s=miscellaneous&qid=1192248171&sr=8-1
got a question:
When you plug in 3.5mm headphones, is the sound clear? because if i use my old Imate Jam as an example, i used a 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable and i had to wiggle it until i found the 'sweet spot' where the sound is what it's supposed to be, and if i was out of the 'sweet spot' then the sound is muffled. Do you have the same problem with this adapter or not?
Well it doesnt use a cable, which is AWESOME.(So there isnt a "sweet spot" due to wire defects)
As for the sound it equals to the sound of a mp3 player(ipod, zune, etc).
So it really depends on the type of earphones you use.
This was how i tested it:
My earphones on kaiser compared to My earphones on ipod. They equal.
Then, Supplied earphones on kaiser compared to My earphones on kaiser. Huge Difference in quality.

Thanks! and i'm guessing that the quality of your headphones with adapter>>>>supplied headphones?
MP3 Play time?
Has anyone by any chance tested how long Kaiser/Tilt can play MP3's with/without any other functions ON (in flight mode for example) on one fully charged battery?
I just got one of these. Came out to around $10 after shipping. Kind of expensive.
Also got a 2 usb port to car charger. Figure I'd use one for my ipod and the other for the phone. I'm assuming that the irregular miniusb port on the htc is to accomodate the 3.5mm, and that I can use a conventional miniusb for charging.

Lack of 3.5mm sucks and the supplied dongle has too much stuff that ill never use most of the time - do they make aftermarket dongles with audio only ever for HTC devices? It seems one could make it pretty small and sleek and out of the way...

I'm using this one, because of the charging capability. Works on tilt and fuze.
http://www.semsons.com/2miusband3st.html
I had both.
The second one (with the block connector) is really stupid.
After you plug in your stereo headset, you can't pull out the stylus anymore as it blocks it.
I went back to buy the cable (in the first link) as it is very handy.
Haven't tried the motorola one, but looks clunky.
What's the build quality of these adapters? I bought a similar 3.5mm adapter for a samsung phone on ebay and the build quality was crap--cheap plastic housing that I had to superglue within the first few days. Granted, for $5, one can't expect much and doesn't stand to lose much.

I used that on my tilt. It's alright. I don't like it. It cuts out sometimes and the sound starts coming from the speaker. I absolutely hate it. It sounds like crap compared to the dongle that came with my fuze. So I'm planning on ordering this:

I'm only ordering it because I don't charge my phone anywhere except at it's cradle (which has a 3.5mm output) and when I'm sleeping in my room (then it's hooked up to the audio dongle), so this is mainly for on the go. It looks good. I'll post pics and a review if I do get it.
I got the same one too... Dont plan on using the stylus in the car too much so that wasn't an issue with me. This plug looks sturdy from what I see.. My main issue with the stock plug that came with the phone was its demented behavior when not used with the charger plugged in.. I use this phone similar to my old Moto Q (sound source aux in). When i left the charger unplugged to the charger, no audio would come out of my car stereo..I thought hmm. defective plug.. Take it inside and the audio comes out clean from my headphones.... I then thought lets plug in the charger to see if that cures the issue.. Well it didn't entirely.... I got that lovely alternator whine you get with cheap audio installs. I had to pull the audio plug slowly out of the adapter to get the sound right and even then it slips and I can hear alternator whine...
Please plug be the fix...............................

That does help...unfortunately I would like to use a Logitech headset that utilizes both a headset and mic input separately. Would a splitter work with this? For example this item -> http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F8V234...WQSR/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1319923903&sr=8-2 or this item -> http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F8V234...7RC4/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1319924488&sr=8-8 (what's the difference between these two?)
Thank you!
Other than the colors there isn't really any difference between those two.
And sorry, those won't do it. I've included a pic below. If you will notice that there are three black bands on the tip of this one vs the two black bands on the tips of those others. That extra seperator is for the microphone.
This should do what you are wanting. If you can get a good enough look at the photo you should see a headset icon and a microphone icon on the female ends. It is a bit more expensive. But I didn't search for price, just the item. You can probably find cheaper at monoprice.com or maybe Ebay... Good Luck.

You do realise that the tab has a built in mic, right? but I can understand if you want something with a bit better quality. Might be worthwhile checking out USB headsets too, but can't guarantee they will work on the A500. If you decide to buy one, make sure the store has a good return policy just in case.

I'm more concerned about the 'noise' from the headphone jack! I dont get any pops/cracks like some others reported but theres a clear background noise >.<
This leaves me wondering if its even worth buying better headphones?
I like the Sennheiser MX580/581. Even after my neice messed with it and got it stuck to the baby carriage wheel its still working.
I don't think there should be background noise from the earbuds its self, its the fact that cellphone audio line is not fully isolated combined with low impedence of the earbuds. Also iem can bevery sensitive to little noises. You have to use headphones with higher impedence. Its hard to not get interference from the audio line out of a cellphone due to so many things going on compared to a dedicated mp3 player.
yeah I have noticed that max payne is not in the market....but it use to be there you know...because I bought it from there for my SGS3....now when I check it is not there.....strange....
Is it possible to buy it from the desktop and do your SIII show up in the compatible list for installation. Also is it a carrier branded device and which.

Spatial Audio Upmixer
Incredibly lightweight yet effective sound fx that combines techniques of iir, fir, compressor, limiters with loudness normalization along with main component - spatialization based on source separation and binaural upmixing.
Engine supports both wired headphones & speakers, don't see why it wouldn't work on bt, but I haven't tested that. It's also one of those very rare cases when android fx seem to support up to 192khz sampling, testing on 24/192 flac proved working like a charm.
As far as I understand there is some sort of EQ that tunes itself on-the-go eliminating clipping, but I couldn't patch anything in it.
NOTE
Can't be used with JDSP!
Requirements
Magisk 20+
If using with other ainur mods/addons - need to (re)flash AML (audio modification library) from the repo to hook it up
Updated & Fixed redownload
Does it work with Bluetooth phones don't have jacks anymore at least not mine. I do have usb c to headphone adapter.
Dumb question alert, does this downmix multichannel to binaural stereo??
Well I don't notice anything on my s10 lite but I have Bluetooth and usb c adapter.
Well I said it before and I'll say it again viper4android is in a class of it's own. All the xda sound mods a just messing with equalizer settings and xml files. Viper4android actually was a sound driver. I don't why he doesn't update viper anymore but I wish he would. Developers don't get so mad and jealous he was in a league of his own. Team Dewitt is ridiculous He thinks because he contains a APK that that makes him the new developer lol. 2.3.4 driver and apk are still better

New v4a team can only update the app as they don't have the driver source code and now the profile switching is much better than ever.
Driver wise, v4a is not that good as it adds white noise while processing and limited to 48Khz. And yes you can hear difference in hires source if you have proper hardware for that.
updated the module with fixes as well as fully retweaked engine

I'm trying it on K20 Pro.
The audio randomly gets louder and lower on speakers.
No sound after update

Yes, I'm sure it's working in my Pixel 6 pro A13 ROM when listening to audio from any video or MTV or music from youtube which is supporting for Spatial audio effect by my Google earbuds.

Thank you for sharing
Gave it a shot since I haven't really added any audio mods to my Nord n10 and the effect is instantly noticable.
Increased volume, wider soundstage, and slightly clearer audio.
Downside is that on my main speakers, everything sounds a little tinny, but I think that's due to the speaker setup itself.
