Hi everyone, I recently rooted my phone after becoming fed up with Motorola (my next phone will definitely be a OnePlus ) and I have now decided that I would like to install XPosed Framework. I really don't want to brick my phone, though I do have a backup, so I came here to ask anyway that has done this before. I am running Android Marshmallow 6.0 with the December security patch, by the way. So is there a way to install XPosed on the XT1575? If so please provide instructions (I already looked on XDA and could not find any helpful threads).
Thanks in advance,
Matt

Yes Xposed does work on the MXPE running 6.0 and the December update. I am running this myself. For full details on Xposed, the framework, Modules, and general information you need to go here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed. Everything you need to know should be there regarding installing and finding out about specific modules.
Be aware that we do not have the factory firmware image for the latest ROM version, if something goes wrong it is possible that you could brick the device.
In the next few months we will hopefully be getting Nougat, and Xposed does NOT work with Nougat as of this posting.
Hello everybody!
I'm in a trouble, installed xposed, but stuck on warning bootloader, i'm on january security patch, any idea what can be?

I would suggest that you download the Xposed uninstaller on your computer and push it to your phone, then flash that.
First make sure you put the uninstaller in the directory with adb and fastboot and connect your phone with a us cable.
Second boot into recovery mode on your phone
Third type into your computer's command prompt 'adb push (and then the name of the uninstaller) /'
Four go to the install section of twrp and navigate to the / directory.
Five select the file and flash it (make sure zip verification is unchecked)
If you have any problems please message me, I'll help you out.
Here's the link to the uninstaller you'll want to download: http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/uninstaller/xposed-uninstaller-20150831-arm64.zip
If this doesn't work send me a message, I can try and help you further.

I think we have firmly established that a) Xposed works on the MXPE and b) a bear does indeed sh*t in the woods.
Can we stop this now children? I know we don't have a "Off-topic thread" for this device, but I think this thread is had enough.

We really need an "Off-topic thread"... I remember back in my Rezound days, that thread was jumpin', and full of stuff like this, something like 25k posts in a single thread called HTC Rezound OFF-TOPIC THREAD
Otherwise, a little fun is fine... but lets not bog down a thread so that if someone has an issue later, they can't find the answer because off all the OT discussion.

I have a Droid Maxx, and Razr Maxx HD and perhaps some beer cash for the answer to root...
I was thinking flashing twrp, then let it root, or am i way off or require an unlocked bootloader? I tried sunshine, but no go as it requires root.
So if i understand, you can get root without an unlocked bootloader, or is an unlocked bootloader a prerequisite of root? I am thinking not, but i am a Windows/SharePoint guy and pretty dumb to linux...

You need an unlocked bootloader to flash TWRP (which flashes SuperSU). There is no known root method available yet because the phone has only been out for about 8 hours.
The Sunshine team has apparently said they will not be supporting Motorola devices for 4.4.4 in their 3.0 release, only HTC, so unlikely it will work there.

Yeah, I didn't think I'd need root but the dpi on this thing is just way too high. For being such a great display it's hindered by the scaling. Easily fixed with root though!!
Found this on some Chinese site. If I had a backup phone I'd try it. But I don't. So can't risk bricking. Anyone else want to take a leap of faith? Ummm... Won't let me post the link because I'm still a noob apparently... So gonna try breaking it up. Just remove the line returns and spaces.

Didn't work for me. Too be safe I used a virtual machine with a snap shot taken before installing so I can revert back without the risk of spyware. Also tried Kingo but no luck with either.
---------- Post added at 06:39 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:20 AM ----------
Also vroot during the root attempt installs 2 apps on your phone and who knows what it installs on Windows without running a regmon, if you do decide to try it make sure you uninstall the 2 chinese apps when your done trying. Also like I mentioned above I would highly not to install vroot or Kingo on your daily driver windows machine. Leave the testing to people who have virtual machines they can install these apps on.
I have used vroot and kingo in the past to successfully root so I know they do/can work, they just haven't been updated yet to work on the Droid Turbo. Hopefully they will.

Eta's are the biggest no-no on this site. These developers do this stuff out of the kindness of their hearts, aside from jobs and families. Asking for a time frame for any sort of development is a huge slap in the face of the devs. With that being said, all you can do is what you said already, go back to kit kat and flash a rooted lollipop rom, and be patient with the devs, as this is not their job.

Not sure what you meant by that, but you clearly asked for an eta of a root method. The only way you can have rooted lollipop is to downgrade and flash like you mentioned, and wait patiently for something to come up.

No, no one knows the time.
But it's definitely not before G4 is released. If there is a root exploit for LL, it lies in LG's services, and it would most likely apply to all LG phones running 5.0. Releasing something like that before the release of G4 and other 5.0 phones is a bad idea.

Root Is Possible!
Hi Friends,
I am a fairly new owner of a D858HK (dual-SIM) variant of the LG G3. An update to Lollipop came in so I got interested.
Focusing instead on getting root and "bump'd" TWRP (custom recovery), I figured it out through the help of @autoprime and his thread.
I know there are a lot of developers who are able to "tear down" the official Lollipop firmware, pre-root it, and repackage/distribute it, however, the D858HK variant is not as widespread as the D855 so I had very little hopes for custom ROMs. So I documented everything that I have learned through reading the relevant threads, tested it on my LG G3 variant (with 100% success rate), and put up a thread to share it. You can check it here: click me!
I'm interested to know if this will work with other LG G3 variants. If it does, please let me know.
In the meantime, this finding got me interested in learning more. I'll probably start with the easy ones like pre-rooting and repackaging the stock firmware. Who knows, I might eventually progress to where I can modify/create a ROM (that's ambitious, but not impossible).

Nice guide!
This will work with any phone.
You can easily create a flashable zip and share it for you fellow d856/857/858HK users.
Just take META-INF (updater-script) from robalm's zip, bump boot.img, substitute d855 images with 858 ones, and voila! You have a repacked 858 stock rom.

Well ETA stands for Estimated time of arrival not exact time of arrival so what you are asking for is an eta!! we would all love to get some info on the root for lollipop but keep it cool man. you dont have any developer here on your payroll so if they say don't bother them about ETAs then you better get a glass of tequila and chill out. and hope and pray for ETA. or better still swap your g3 for a nexus.

I was trying to change my middle Eastern honor 7 to EU version, downloaded honor tool, backed up my OEM info and debranded it to EU, it asked to put a EU firmware in SD card (which I did not) and asked me to choose a firmware for which I want to flash the recovery.
I chose the build B380 and it flashed the recovery and asked to restart.
After the restart it booted into Android system (ME B370) and when I went to settings, about phone, nothing changed.
Opened multi-tool again to troubleshoot and saw this
"Change model only possible on Android 5.0"
as is shown under model names in the attached screenshot.
Now, is it because I did not put the firmware in my SD as i was asked or because debranding is only possible on Android 5.0?
Forgot the screenshot so here it is.

Yeah I do, I use for example xstana, and I actually don't know how it's working, I'm running pure Rom, and it's xposed v86, but more than that info I don't got.
I chatted with @DigiGoon about this subject, and as far as I remember he had a theory about it.
V83 and till v86 works with hwtheme enabled, but as far as I remember he told me that "nobody knows, it just work mate"
I know it's not much of explaining, but before I had to disable hwtheme to make xposed work..
Maybe you should "just" get xposed installer alpha, and then flash v86, that's what I did

I am new to xposed... Where can I find this version... I have read that you must install the package with recovery and then run an installer in Android to get xposed installed?

Just remember if you mess up its hard to get things back up so flash at your own risk . you will also have to download an app I suggest the material version
unlucky in.................

Figured I would start a new thread so we don't clog up the recovery thread. I will start new threads depending on the question or comments and how important they are to our device . I hope others will do the same so maybe we get enough post to maybe get a sub forum and hopefully get some developement going

I was lucky enough to find the BOOST LG Stylo II on sale for $119 at BestBuy yesterday. Unluckily though, its the LGLS775ABB Z4...... Has marshmellow 6.0.1 and there is an update waiting to install right out of the box........ just messing around the forums trying to see if there is any reprieve to being stuck without root and enough bloatware to sink a ship...............
How do I at least restore expandable storage in this pos?

Thank you. I installed xposed, the application, and a few modules. Working good! Have a good day
Is there any word of CyanogenMod or any other coustom ROMs for this device yet? Just picked up the LSMG550 this evening. Rooted using the guide in OP (also linked at the bottom of my post)
My question is this; Are there any coustom ROMs, or a bloated stock ROM for the LGMS550 (Metro PCS variant LG G Stylo 2 Plus)? I could not find any in my searches, but that is to say I didn't over look them.

We have no developers I don't think , we out sourced to get recovery and root. . But it's cool because we have root and Xposed I'm pretty happy
So I have been using my phone rooted with boot loader unlocked... If I re-lock the bootloader does that remove root from the system??.. Sorry, a bit of a noob on this. Secondly, if locking back up the boot loader does not harm root is there a reason one should do so?

I don't think you can run root with bootloader locked,i could be wrong. But if you lock it your phone will probably reset itself to factory so I would think root would be gone. Also don't think the twrp will work with it locked
OK. I wasn't sure. This is first phone I had to Unlock the bootloader to gain root. My previous devices I used king root.. So this whole process of rooting the LG stylo 2 has been a learning experience. Thank you for your help.
How do I install V4A if I can't swipe to allow modifications. I don't want to brick or bootloop.
Nvm figured it out sorry for being a noob
Few tested Xposed module which works on stock ROM:
1) App Setting ( change DPI to 270 safely, anything below that will give you continuous phone app crash), you might have to change the LG system level apps(Phone, contacts, music, camera) DPI to 320 for them to work.
2) GravityBox MM (many options work) including the circle battery, clock, date, data speed indicator

Does anyone know how to get rid of this annoying message when using the stylus? I have to put the stylus back in the phone to get rid of it.
Thanks !

NoOverlayWarning Xposed module.
Hi all.. The last device I rooted was an HTC EVO so it has been a while . I've been reading a lot and trying to catch up. I found both of these guides below to root the device. They both use a different approach. So I guess there's more than one way to do this, got it.. I guess I am just looking for some advice as to what is the most current/best way/safest to root the Tab S6 Lite. I have installed all updates provided by Samsung which has brought me to Android 11. I figured I should ask if the fact that I am already running android 11 could throw any monkey wrenches into the process of rooting it. It appears that Andoird 10 is expected within the guides. Can anyone recommend a guide for Android 11?
Thank you in advance.

Thanks all

yes, magisk seems the safest way, specially now that we don't have an official twrp
the catch is.. finding the correct exact firmware to patch the boot.img

I hate to say it, but I don't think using the discontinued TWRP is really too big of a deal. All things considered, it doesn't have too many bugs, and you can work around things like no adb sideload.
I just have a question. Do you think TWRP will ever be revived for this tablet, even an unoffifcial one? I mean, there seems to be a demand. Is it permanently discontinued or...?
Thanks all, will do some more homework

No, I got stage fright at this point and figured the process isn't mature enough for my scenario, or I just didn't get pointed in the right direction. I think that part that concerned me was KNOX... something that didn't exist the last time I rooted an android phone (HTC EVO, yeah that long ago).

Thanks for replying. My S6 Lite is due to arrive today. I'll be trying to root my P610 with latest A11 firmware (US 2DUK1), with TWRP, will capture whatever I do.
Awesome! Much appreciated, I suspect there's many out there waiting for an updated guide.
I think twrp is not a good solution, check twice before flashing.
Rooted mine which is lte version, picked up latest from samfirm and patched AP with magisk, added rest of the files in odin from stock.
After flashing done, you must flash vbmeta and boot from stock packed in tar,to avoid error.
