Whitepages integration - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

One thing I miss from the U firmware is the white pages integration in the dialer. I refuse to pay for caller ID, as it should be standard in 2017. Any way to get this feature back in the A firmware?

[Q] Emojis on MJ7

Hi, guys! I know that probably most of you don't care about the emojis but I found that there are a few of them missing and I wondered if anyone of you knows if you can input them with the stock keyboard.. Here are some screenshots:
These are the ones the Samsung keyboard has:
These are the missing ones:
I think they are the same one but samsung decided to use different icons for them.

Yes I noticed that too. Yes mms charge depending on your carrier.

I meant that I can't input the ones from the second picture using the stock keyboard :silly:
Okay, Hangouts was updated with the SMS feature. We can sent emoji using SMS through it and it won't convert it to MMS.
While the Stock samsung's messaging app converts it to MMS as soon as emoji is input.

Samsung Lab in Settings?

I have the T-Mobile variant and I do not see the Samsung Labs in settings. This is where we can turn off the app icon on the home screen. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks
I got my s7 already and installed nova, but wouldn't that be a touchwiz setting?
Its probably disabled by t-mobile if your phone is a carrier version

I was looking for it also I didn't see it
I am running Nova but I don't see it either way.
If Tmob removed SLabs and Whitepages I might have to return the phone and go international.
I won't be running the stock rom for long anyway.
True, but it should still be there!

Agreed. I wanted to try going without the app drawer (I'm aware of Nova Launcher). I don't know why T-Mobile would remove this from the phone.
Yea, surely it isn't a tmob thing.. maybe in the true release date they will have a software update
White pages is there just no labs

It's like Samsung beta features which you could try out.

What dialers are you folks using?

For a long time I've used "Rocketdial"...but the default dialer still pops up for incoming calls...so I'm debating ditching rocketdial and just keeping truecaller for it's caller id feature where it looks up unknown callers....what's your preference?
Stock one that comes in cm 12.1 works just fine for me.

Does the stock one identify unknown callers? Does it allow itself to work upside down when the phone is rotated (no for cm12.1 dialer). I can add in truecaller for caller id but it requires uploading your contact list which I don't like. Does it allow you to blacklist numbers so they don't ring on the phone? Does it allow spam lists to be downloaded? I'm looking for a full featured dialer.
The either way is up feature does work on cm12.1 I believe. Dunno about the rest only a handful of people I talk to use normal voice calling lol

Under CM 12.1 when you receive an incoming call the normal dialer will NOT honor rotation and end up flipping the screen...now everything is upside down as you are trying to answer the phone. Been there...done that...now under a stock rom they've done SOMETHING to fix that. CM 12.1 will honor rotation but the default dialer does NOT unless you got a nifty new one in the last month because I ran cm 12.1 right until I upgraded to marshmallow.
Yes it doesn't rotate I hadn't noticed

The rumors are they will eventually be phasing out hangouts for "allo". Might do a google and read up on it.

It was debunked. I use it to call regular phone numbers for free so I hope it is here to stay indefinitely

If you have CM12.1 you can download the capps package which comes with the Cyanogen dialer, the Cyanogen dialer has Truecaller built-in.

what is this in the notification bar?

No idea what it is or how to get rid of out since upgrading to nougat? Any ideas?
Anyone?

Cheers mate. That zip didn't seen to work though sadly.
Hmm. At least I know to search for removing the rcs icon now. Not sure why I have it on a UK based nougat rom?

I think AT & T, T-Mobile and Verizon phones have this icon... its a IMS service for wifi calling...

Yep. No idea why it appeared. I just removed the service ad I don't need it and all is good now with nothing broken in the dialer.
Thanks both.

Samsung S Planner

Hi, I installed a Nougat custom rom and I am missing S Planner planner application.
Can anyone extract it and send it to me please?
Thank you!!
S Planner was abandoned by Samsung in the Nougat release.. So official roms also do not have it...

It's not abandoned at all, only the name has changed - called "Calendar" now.

Didnt know, thank yoU!
Yes and no.. It is not renamed but replaced. Even if it is from Samsung, it in fact is a new application and not an new version AFAIK. Also it does not come installed by default but instead needs to be installed manually from Galaxy Apps

I themed S Planner in Theme Editor on MM. When I went to Nougat and applied my theme, Calendar was themed identically and automatically, I didn't do a thing.
If there are any differences between the apps they're negligible. From what I see, only the icon!
At least one thing has changed... 's Planner's Date icon showed the actual date on Nova Prime. Calendar's icon doesn't..

Shows the date fine for me in Nova.
Edit - sorry, you're correct.
